How would he be the hero if he shows up after it’s all done? What an absolute psycho. How dare a beautiful, successful woman leave me after I have no job and I beat her?
I was engaged to a psycho. After I split with him, he would create “scenarios” in the hopes that he could be the “hero” and rescue me. For instance, he would create Craigslist ads claiming there was a car for sale and leave my number. So when I was bombarded with calls, I’d call him for help. They love to control the narrative.
He had no marks on him, she was the one injured. So her "friends" stopped talking to HER because she was the one bruised and cut up??? And they thought it was her causing all that? Her friends sound stupid af and definitely not friends. And her parents believing him! That's grounds for "no contact." Hopefully she's found some better friends too. The friend interviewed here seems like a decent human being.
They stopped talking to her because she stayed with him after that incident it’s probably not explain more, but there is another episode done by dateline and it goes more into that
@@galaxia4709 She said it in the interview and either didn't add the details or they edited the rest. I can understand why woman friends would stop talking to her if she stays with an abusive dude for their own safety especially if he's physically abusive.
I thought the friends stopped talking to her cos they knew what was going on & they knew she’s trying to cover up for him and continue to be gaslit by him. They were mad she’s not standing up for herself.
Seeing stories like this makes my so happy to be single and alone, all alone., me and my cat, my canvases, paint brushes, my books and my solitude.! It’s priceless.!
I am divorced. Prior to marriage, I lived alone with 2 cats for 11 years. I was married a very long time. I cherish my sanity, peace of mind, making important decisions, etc. I don't miss my ex and never did. I'm also thankful for being "alone" -- Great to have found myself and my own voice again. I look in the mirror, and I now recognize myself.
@ulisesrangel4912 there's nothing sad about enjoying your own company, most people aren't even capable of knowing or liking themselves unless it's through how others perceive them.
@ulisesrangel4912 what's sad is someone thinking they have to have a partner to be whole. I am single, a dog, 2 cats, great friends, and a supportive family. I love my life!!!
I'm amazed at the audacity. He really thought she wouldn't know it was him and that a mask and changing his voice would be enough. You know someone's body, their mannerisms, etc.
No mystery in this episode. The moment they revealed early on that the ex-husband "conveniently" showed up 40 mins after the attack, probably 90% of us knew immediately that he was the perp.
Honestly, statistically speaking, you wouldn't be wrong often if you just said the spouse/ex right from the jump on every case like this. Who needs enemies when the people closest to you can do this much damage? 😑
The fact that your ex husband that lives 12 minutes away by car, is the first one to find you after you've been attacked rings all the bells to me. Even before Morgan said that his whole additude changed when she said she loves her ex husband and the familiar way he lifted her off the bed.
I can't believe he managed to fool their families and friends for so long. His mother still seems to be on his side. Coronavirus gave him the most convenient reason to cover his face and he decided to be the only unmasked person in the store when buying tools for his crimes. 😂 He even forgot there are cameras in his house and police could used them to verify his story.
Her success drove him over the edge. Instead of focusing on making her business an even bigger success, he tried to tear her down. A true monster. May he rot in jail.
the most obvious symptoms of narcissism is grand gestures, Gaslighting, victim blaming and victim shaming the narcissist is always either the victim or the hero but never the villain (you can see the devil in his eyes)
When the police asked him about the zip ties, he said, "I don't have any big-a$$ zip ties." Who said they were big??? Right there, he gave himself away...again.
Her family and friends who didn’t listen to her and sided with him after he beat her the first time should really reflect on how they contributed to this outcome. She did everything right in that situation, she called for help and the left the night it happened. And for her friends to stop talking to her and contribute to the gaslighting!! I’m just in shock that friends would do that and saddened for her.
Me too she's was let down by people closest to her. It also shows how convincing this dangerous narcissist was. I hope she's had therapy for everything she's gone through
Him being investigated by the police and while in jail is saying “why is SHE doing this to ME” as if she’s the one that had been doing all the investigating and building a case against him tells me all I need to know about this horrendous excuse of a human being.
Yeah! He sounded like he was gonna try and be a tough guy..."Hey do your freaking jobs, maybe if you'd been doing them, she wouldn't have been injured, good thing I'm here to help her pick up the pieces." Trying to (once again) gaslight someone, only this time it was the POLICE. Who tries to gaslight the police?? I think this guy thought he was living in a movie or something.
I am especially appalled at the faking of pancreatic cancer. I was 7 years old when my grandfather was taken at the age of 59 by pancreatic cancer. Absolutely horrifying.

IKR? Dude this isn't Law and Order where you stop talking and lawyer up. You're already wearing a prison outfit. That ship done sailed a looooong time ago.
I really wish they would have asked her about how her family has responded. The fact that they believed him over her when he was abusing her is so odd to me. When i think about my own daughter, i can't even imagine believing a man who hasn't been in our family forever over her. I just know her so well, but then again, I've never come up against such an awful narcissist so I probably wouldn't even know what it looks like. Hopefully, her telling her story will prevent this, at least, for those who've watched this episode and been made aware of the potential for subtle evil in some people.
Not unusual. Same thing happened to me during my divorce. He managed to manipulate them, twist situations and skew the truth enough that everything was my fault. Because they believed him and supported him, I got nothing out of the divorce, absolutely nothing, even many of my personal possessions were taken by him. Took years for them to see the truth, by then I had moved beyond them. Apologies were not accepted. No one needs family who can so easily betray.
Mine still believes my ex. The grown kids, too. It’s how a narcissist works and it’s increasingly common. They brainwash everyone. They are the cruelest people in the world.
Probably because they knew like most people how manipulative a lot of women can be not to mention verbally and physically abusive. I’ve seen it often and have plenty of proof.
Notice how he was playing the innocent with his mom on the jail phone? Notice how he even tried to put the detective on the spot during his interrogation? That is how cocky, arrogant and disrespectful people treat others. They are lawless and show no regard to anyone, even family and in-laws. They make victims of everyone they prey on ruthlessly with their lies. Such callous hearts have no holy fear of God and can never be expected to repent - ever!!
I knew it was her husband when "the attacker" mentioned her husband, disguised his voice. Can't believe he thought he'd get away with this. I knew she had to suspect him. She' been with him for years and should be completely familiar with his traits, movements, etc. Poor dear. So glad she got away from this monster!
Her voice on the 911 call saying "please don't leave Rod" broke my heart. I immediately started bawling my eyes out! I knew Rod was the attacker before they even played the 911 call. The last person you want to see you so vulnerable and violated is your ex but, compared to this monster he is a hero! Too bad he is the monster!
That was clever of her. She knew it was him, but didn’t want him to leave and get rid of more evidence. She wanted him to wait for the police and get arrested. Smart lady.
He is a Narcissist and always plays the victim. Incredibly sad that they use their children to gaslight everyone around them. He is a very sick man. So glad she has survived and this sick sick man is out of her life.

I thought it was either him or he had a friend do it for him...turns out the guy was even dumber than we all thought and it was actually him..
I can't imagine a scenario in the world where my girlfriend couldn't recognize my voice no matter how hard I tried to change it.
17 year olds SHOULD NOT be dating 14 year olds. He was a predator from the start.
Stop it. It's totally fine.
Ew, no it's not @@lintottish
@@savanah5354 They go to school in the same building, it's a highschool senior dating a sophomore. How is that weird?
Nah that's fine.
I think that most 14 year old girls are as mature as some 17 year old boys. Maybe emotionally more so. And savvier too.
That's grounds for "no contact."
Hopefully she's found some better friends too. The friend interviewed here seems like a decent human being.
They stopped talking to her because she stayed with him after that incident it’s probably not explain more, but there is another episode done by dateline and it goes more into that
@@supersammy6859 Oh okay. That makes more sense.
@@trulymysterious yeah I also didn't understand, it was illogical the way they said it
@@galaxia4709 She said it in the interview and either didn't add the details or they edited the rest.
😂 what a sad life
@ulisesrangel4912 there's nothing sad about enjoying your own company, most people aren't even capable of knowing or liking themselves unless it's through how others perceive them.
@@ulisesrangel4912😂 Sad to be YOU😂
@ulisesrangel4912 what's sad is someone thinking they have to have a partner to be whole. I am single, a dog, 2 cats, great friends, and a supportive family. I love my life!!!
Rod has 4 brain cells and they are fighting each other. How dumb can you be? He may as well waved to the cameras.
😂😂😂
She's too good for him. A mismatch from the very beginning.
It was horrid hearing she met him when she was 14. 😢
You do not hit, attack or put bruises on someone you claim to love.
He obviously didn't love her. He's probably incapable of loving another person. Unbelievable.
YES! Say it louder for the people in the back! 👏🏻 👏🏻
Or anyone else unless it is self defense.
He didn't love her , he wanted to keep controlling her n was mad she dared to leave him
Nope. He's a real narcissist
I'm amazed at the audacity. He really thought she wouldn't know it was him and that a mask and changing his voice would be enough. You know someone's body, their mannerisms, etc.
And their scent, too
@@Mama2CDHsurvivorYES!! His scent is the first thing I thought I would recognize if I were in her position
And he assaulted her intimately... That's def a close thing that's recognizable. He's lucky she was in shock
No mystery in this episode. The moment they revealed early on that the ex-husband "conveniently" showed up 40 mins after the attack, probably 90% of us knew immediately that he was the perp.
Yep! That sealed it..
The first clue was him saying 'you're going to miss your husband' while he was beating her..
Honestly, statistically speaking, you wouldn't be wrong often if you just said the spouse/ex right from the jump on every case like this. Who needs enemies when the people closest to you can do this much damage? 😑
As soon as her ex husband walked up….. my eyes rolled so damn hard….
He walks stupid too
This guy has got to be the dumbest criminal we've ever seen on this show
The fact that your ex husband that lives 12 minutes away by car, is the first one to find you after you've been attacked rings all the bells to me.
He even forgot there are cameras in his house and police could used them to verify his story.
Her success drove him over the edge. Instead of focusing on making her business an even bigger success, he tried to tear her down. A true monster. May he rot in jail.
💯🎯💯🎯
exactly she clearly said she needed help....He could have joined her business.
He was a huge part of the business. They did it all together. Proof is still on old social media pages from their business.
A true King rises with her Queen and doesn’t diminish her.
the most obvious symptoms of narcissism is grand gestures, Gaslighting, victim blaming and victim shaming
the narcissist is always either the victim or the hero but never the villain (you can see the devil in his eyes)
Also, getting others to back them up (flying monkeys).
He made the classic narcissistic comment to his mother while in jail “why is she doing this to me?”
@clarkkent3730
Great to see the real Batman on this thread 😄👍
And the way he tried to control the interview
@@jenniferalexander5423YES!! Absolutely
Rod made the difficult decision to fire himself as a day trader
Yea, how do you lose your self-employed job?
When the police asked him about the zip ties, he said, "I don't have any big-a$$ zip ties." Who said they were big??? Right there, he gave himself away...again.
WHAT A LOSER FOR A HUSBAND!
He's a total creep. They did not make a good couple.
Yeah seriously. She was a hottie, he was a nottie
💯! I was just thinking the same thing. This guy just screams LOSER from the gate. What did she see in him???
There are thousands of guys like this
She was a meal ticket. He's not a man. He's a large child.
Rod almost got away with the perfect crime. Not sure how the investigators cracked this one
I hope she's had therapy for everything she's gone through
his thinking he's the smartest in the room makes him appear even more stupid
I'm honestly a little impressed with how stupid he is and shocked he can drive or read... Or put clothes on all by himself
Narcissists always think they're the smartest person in the room (and in the entire world!). Luckily, this often leads to their downfall.
He had this bombshell successful wife and his ego couldn't handle it...99% of people would've known they hit the jackpot
men with fragile egos are the reason for most wars in this world.
jessica simpson clone.
@@stumack9755Better version of Jessica Simpson in that case. Far, far better.

RIGHT?!! That's the dream!
Him being investigated by the police and while in jail is saying “why is SHE doing this to ME” as if she’s the one that had been doing all the investigating and building a case against him tells me all I need to know about this horrendous excuse of a human being.
The irony in him telling the cops to do their f’n job…and they did! 😂😂
He lost his Day Trader job?!? So, he basically didn't have a job.....
Collecting cans and cashing them in at the Go Green recycling dump for 25 cents a pound. What a stooge.
Probably deeply indebted to the people who gave him life.
Spoiled brat who always got what he wanted and never gave it a second thought when he messed up.
If his trading was as good as his attack, it's no wonder he got fired.
How she said, "when he lost all of his money", sounds like he had a good amount. You don't day trade with 1K. Places like Schwab require to maintain 25K of equity to be a day trader.
You can say trade on Robinhood and you don’t need 25k
Im really impressed with these cops, they did a great job investigating this from the get go.
Me too. When she said, "they believed me", that was wonderful.
It was easy
Yes, and the prosecutor. They really threw the book at him!
I mean, as long as they weren't totally incompetent, anyone could have figured this case out cuz this guy basically left clues all over the place...
God bless this young lady. I pray for her healing from this horrible violence and trauma. 💔

I really feel bad for a rod's mother. If she's generally a good person. She lost one son to cancer and another son to being psychotic. Her one grandchild that was named after her child that dies also does. And she still makes excuses for him. Smh

This dude is the most pathetic being. This is such a low thing to do.
After 5 minutes i can already tell its her ex husband 😂😂
him trying to gaslight the detectives was nasty work
It's like a crime committed by an evil version of Michael Scott
He handed the police all the evidence they'd need on a silver platter 😂
i knew the moment her ex-husband showed up right after the intruder left, he did it!

Wouldn’t wear a mask and it gets him caught….lol
When "Anti-vax, anti-mask, anti-woke" goes wrong LMAO
Right? As a retail worker in a store that enforced wearing a mask and dealing with the insanity that ensued, this is extra sweet justice for me lol.
Why did they offer him a plea deal when they had every piece of evidence imaginable to bury him under the jail if he took it to trial?
Her voice on the 911 call saying "please don't leave Rod" broke my heart. I immediately started bawling my eyes out! I knew Rod was the attacker before they even played the 911 call. The last person you want to see you so vulnerable and violated is your ex but, compared to this monster he is a hero! Too bad he is the monster!
That was clever of her. She knew it was him, but didn’t want him to leave and get rid of more evidence. She wanted him to wait for the police and get arrested. Smart lady.
The problem with a plan that involves outsmarting your wife and detectives, is that you have to actually be smart.
You dont need to be Columbo to solve this one 😅
"Oh, just one more thing..."
