I, too, disagree. First off, its not really a matter of agreeing or disagreeing because about her skill Carly DOES have more technical skill. Whether you care or not, it's a fact. You are also wrong when you say it does not amaze or ispire or sell records. On the contrary, those with incredible vocal skill happen to be some of the best and most respected singers around, rock or not. If Carly does nothing for you, so be it. But she is a great singer.
I'm quite knowledgeable when it comes to vocal proficiency. Carly is superior. Ann is incredible, no doubt, but Carly has more control over phrasing.
Saying that Carly has more skills than Ann Wilson is like saying Chris Brown has more skills than Michael Jackson or Miley Cyrus sings better than Whitney Houston.

Go listen to Ann covering Led Zepplin. Carly is William Hung compared to Ann.
Though that's actually not true because Chris does not have more skill than MJ and Miley is not more skilled than WHitney. Whereas Carly is more proficient vocally than Ann, which is not really a debatable issue. Ann may objectively have more "emotion" or "feeling", but that is the opinion of the listener.
That is your opinion. If you ask 1000people in the music business who is more proficient vocally, I would guarantee mroe than 80% would say Ann Wilson. Even with American Idol bump, Carly is already a nobody in the music business.
I disagree and even she was, nobody cares about technically skilled in rock and roll. technically skilled does not inspire, amaze, nor sell records.
