This is such a beautiful lament and waltz that, whether performed by Jay and Molly and their family band, or as a violin , piano or guitar solo, or by a chamber or full orchestra, or even a military brass band with violin, it always sounds just beautiful. I just wish that so many would stop insisting that it is a "Civil War" song and learn about what actually inspired Jay to compose it in 1980. Beautiful performance here by this high school orchestra, played nearly exactly as Jay wrote it, without any unnecessary embellishments. 😊💖
They are Wonderful. Great Job.

US Civil War Music .
Ahhh, no... it's not, actually. Written by Jay Unger in 1980, and had absolutely Nothing to do with the Civil War, or Any war. Research it and learn.
