Thank you. I am new to IT and trying to learn in order to change career/get a job. I am taking a course on Windows Server 2016 but was stuck at understanding fundamental topics. Again, thank you so much. Keep up the great job you are doing.
The Naruto reference sold me on subscribing! 👌
This was incredibly useful. Thank you!
Thank you! Was very helpful!!👍👍
Great video, very helpful, and a big fan of Naruto as well!
Thanks, this clarified many questions
I love how you are so fascinated with this just like me.
Nice video. Thank you 👍
Good video.
Informative
What about files and programs that you would install? Would files be on the laptop hard drive or automatically hosted on the server?
Hello Guillaume,
For example if you want a wallpaper to show up on every computer, this wallpaper will be stored in the server. Now, let’s say you need to install a pdf reader, the .exe or msi file will be stored in the server, but the installation will be done on every single computer that receives the software. 👍
Thanks for the comment!
Thank you, very informative. I have a question though, when you say that in order to log in to a domain account you need your laptop to be connected to the computer that acts as the web server; I understand that also your laptop has to be in some way registered into the windows server in the first place, so you can log in through that specific subdomain. Am I wrong?
Hello,
In the video there is a laptop, a windows server 2019
that is the DC= Domain controller and
a Cisco switch that makes the communication possible
between the laptop and the DC.
I joined the laptop that has Windows 10 pro to the
MITWS.local domain, (the name can be anything you like
but normally ends with ".local"), which lives inside the
DC.
The requierements for the laptop to join the
MITWS.local domain or any domain really are:
-Have Windows 7/8/10/11 PRO or above, home version
CAN'T join to a domain.
Note: YOu can also join Macs to a Windows Domain.
-Have an admin username and password for the domain.
-Be reachable by the DC. -> be in the same network
About subdomains, big companies have subdomains,
normally they are called "forests", and there has to be
a main Domain or forest.
Hope it helps
Thanks for the comment!
Just remember if you set up a enforcement policy to change pw every 90 days some of your stuff may stop working once you do a reboot. Always use a local account that won't be affected by the pw change.
Excellent Video!! Thanks for posting this.
I have a confusion:
After you joined the domain, you entered the DOMAIN\administrator to log in with the domain account. However, you did not enter the DOMAIN
uzumaki, you only entered "nuzumaki" and it logged you in. Is it because after joining the domain, Windows is able to discover local accounts of the domain controller behind the scenes?
what if the laptop had initially a local account named nuzumaki as well, how would you make the difference in the login screen?
Hello iinnfff,
Correct, Since the computer is part/joined of a domain, and the user account exists in the domain, nuzumaki, there is no need to type “Domain\username” just the “username”, and the password of course.
What’s more, after the computer is joined to a domain, you logged to it for the first time using a domain account. You can disconnect the computer from the network, take it home, (laptop), and you will still be able to login to the account. That’s because even though it’s a domain account, the account is also stored on the computer.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for the comment.
@@MyITWorkshop Makes sense. Thank you!
Thanks the difference is pretty straight forward. With an MS account, it will be nice if the synced data included personalisation, themes, how task bar is setup, third party apps list to potentially reinstall, I find these are the things that take the longest to setup after a new install. Also, with an MS account, is it possible to have the username on the windows PC within C:\Users show the actual username from the MS account instead of the local part of the email account?
Helo sir.
I am confuising about log on( domain\local user name)like this
Domain\Administrator
.my question is password default is what?i donot ever change password administrator.I write empty still not log on.
i use win 7
Thanks before
Hi Sir, how do I leave a domain user account when you dont have the password? can you do it without a password?
5:02 my computer cannot click on Domain is there any solution
What is the use of domin account
Voice is not clear n it's quite fast..but gud topic for the beginners
I am unable to change the domain because its again ask for an admin credential which I don't know with an unknown domain name. So, in that case, how I resolve this.
Hello Ratma,
Can't really tell how the the computer is configured, but resetting the Administrator local password, (not the Domain admin), on the computer should fix the problem. I have a video for that here:
ruclips.net/video/GleCvn62j_g/видео.html
The other option is to restart windows.......
Hope it helps
Thanks for the comment!
@@MyITWorkshop Actually, I staked with unknown domain credentials and I also checked my existing local account is not as administrator, I am unable to do any changes. How to resolve it?
Hi,
In the video i sent you, (if the computer is allowed to boot from usb), there is an option to make a user an administrator.
All windows computers, cant be sure about win vista and lower, have an admin local account.
Hope it helps
What is the hurry man..you can explain slowly and clearly also
So you're also shinobi
You should work on your explanation, wtf i didn't understand anything you are saying.
That's really helpful video, dattebayo
