But then you have to pay them good enough to keep them. When it comes to these kinds of operations, the team members may as well open their own shop. They keep more money for themselves. Or if you do pay people well, that is less money for owners. It may not even be worth it for the owner at that point.

Hey bruce. Been watching for a lil bit now and appreciate what you do! I plan on opening my own pizza spot in Philadelphia pa. Its a small spot in north philly for 2000 a month. No dine in so it would focus on delivering thru DD. i had a ghost kitchen pizzeria when my boss closed his business at Paulie Gees so i was open during midnight to 7am which i thought there was a market for night time food but nobody was doing qualityat that time or they weren't even open. So i do wanna go back n try to capture that market because when bars let out they all came to me. But if i had to be open during they day and had to compete with very famous pizza spots how can i stand out. I plan on using the dough to make Ny pies n sells slices also Doughnuts, pretzel bites , garlic knots, cheesy bread sticks and small square pies trying to be more profitable that way and serve Homemade ice-cream and bubble tea to stand out and capture the temple students and moms w family who will hopefully have higher ticket avgs. I guess i just want some advice and someone professional to talk to!
@BlackJesus8463 I was only able to do the ghost kitchen at night for a few months but yes I would. It was only me working and my boss who owned the business I was using only wanted 10% of sales so I was happy to take the orders that came that late. Like I said I had my gf at the time pass out flyers to the bars in center city so when the bars let out I would get hit! Especially during the superbowl n Christmas. I'm always up late and the food options are trash that late I think there is a market alot of ppl work at night who ordered.

When you make a business plan to present to a bank, do you need to hire a professional to actually make the plan up in a presentable presentation, and then market it to the bank? If you saying there were so many things you did not know, how exactly did you even get that business loan?
Rent and utilities plus general liability insurance is important if you can cover first per month ? Location is key area foot traffic and parking . The best is food truck you and a part-time person

Thank you for the content, it's been super insightful as I get my little pop-up side hustle going. Couple of questions that come to mind that I wish I could ask someone more experienced as I figure things out. 1. Procuring financing... what are some ways that people got funding for their business as they grew? Based on your experiences, what would you avoid? What should someone look for? 2. Sourdough - is the juice worth the squeeze? 3. I remember craft beer was huge a few years back and now we see that it's really declined by a lot. The current pizza scene kind of reminds me of that craft beer scene back in the day. Is there any worry that pizza is currently in a "bubble"? 4. Millennial vs Gen Z marketing... I have no data for this and it's just my observations but it seems to me that millennials really like the whole artisanal/craft/appeal to nostalgia feel to things and Gen Z seem to prefer straight to the point, no BS, down to earth appeal. Do you see any difference in how younger crowds take to things?
What bank is going to loan money for a pizza place? Unless there is no pizza place for like 50 miles, but there is 50K people living here. But then how is the market not already taken by someone else.
Yeh I remember the craft beer craze. I said it was a craze and people said I was an idiot. Geez. Im Gen Y and my whole gen is raised on stupid trends designed to use us to steal money from our parents so rich people can get richer. Gen Z seems to be raised better by their Gen X parents. Gen X must seen writing on the wall.
If I couldn't make a better pizza than the charred, overcooked ones shown in the first six seconds of this video, I wouldn't open a shop either!

Is there a POS system specifically designed for pizza shops? Like one that will show what hours are selling more pizzas, what pizzas sell the most, etc... these POS systems can also help an owner see what days and hours are peak and what sells more to help inventory and purchasing so you can keep spending under control. No need to order a lot of Pineapple if pineapple pizzas are not really selling on Monday morning.
In this day and age, we are oversaturated with places that sell food. That why so many states legalized weed now. What other kinds of businesses are there?
