I loved your video, I was wondering if they sell the part where the lightbulbs go. For some reason my back left blinker burned out and we changed out the lights ,and that wasn’t the problem. We think it might be the part where the lightbulb screws into.
Great video again. Just one question, would appreciate if you could do a video on how to change the turning signal light on the driver side mirror. Can’t find where you can pry off the cover to change it out. Thanks.
Still weird not to see a Jeep in garage. You need Marvel shirt now. LOL 🤣 Wish changing bulbs on all cars were that easy LOL 🤪 keep motoring and making great videos! Everyone just hit like and subscribe!!
Great video. My wifes car has a bulb out. I did replace one a long time ago when she first got it but the video was a great reminder of how to do this.
Nice! this helped me get the bulbs out. I also have a mk6, I have the parts and am about to install a header and intake manifold from the AEG motor. The header is 4-2-1 and tubular instead of the cast 4-1 on this car. this should give a little boost in power. intake manifold is metal instead of plastic, i had mine explode on me when the engine backfired.( Moral of the story is change your timing belt at 60,000kms folks.) but they all bolt up minus having to add some vacuum lines to the intake and something to clamp the new downpipe to the cat. couldn't find your video on jetta air intake, I plan on doing that after as well. I think it will be touch to make a system better than the stock one. you could also do exhaust tips! I was thinking of cutting the rear muffler off and putting a cool tip on. anyways came here for the jetta but then woah porsche racecar?
Great video, thanks. Any idea why there are three sockets and only two bulbs in the trunk lid? I thought I might have had a burnt bulb, but there wasn’t one in the socket. I’m not sure there is even a lens over it....
Thx so much!! I didn't order the original VW part, I paid $150 from car parts dot come. It seems as if there's a slight gap on the top as apposed to the original on the right side? I did notice 2 tiny plastic squares on top of the assembly. I can visibility see them on the side I replaced (they are on the one I took out but seem to be slimmer). It snapped in perfectly and works perfectly. My concern is the 1/8" gap. Will it short anything out if rain leakes inside? Does it have the tiny gap on the top of the new housing because: 1. I should remove the 2 tiny plastic squares on replacement ( off Market, not VW original) 2. It's no big deal that it's 1/8" off at the top. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Of course I had the housing w/ the clear strip in center costing an extra $50. Mine is a 2018 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition
@MT Paradise I'm grateful for you. I got to thinking, they are nothing more than spacers. I looked @ original side, and there were 2 plastic spacers there. However, they were half the size of the one's on the new housing I received. So I popped out the new spacers and NO GAP! THANKS AGAIN . I assume the spacers are for the perfect fit. Thx again
Good tutorial helped a lot! Now I’m curious on the very bottum left and right light strips on the rear bottum, there a name and way to replace those? Got my right one busted.. haha
I’m glad I could help. Oh that would be a reflector. I haven’t actually replaced that but from what I’ve seen, it looks like you have to pull out on the outermost side until that side pops out then the whole thing slides to the side and comes out. I hope that helped
Awesome video. This helps a ton. A problem I'm having right now with my 2012 Jetta is when the heater is on....the passenger side blows cold air but the driver side still blows hot air. And in my car I don't have the duel control. I only have one control. Any ideas what it might be or how to fix it? Thanks!!
I’m glad I could help with the taillights. That is really weird. I’ve never had any issues with the heat/ac so I’ve never had to look into it. I have no idea what that could be
Hey Chris...I have the same problem. It could be the evaporator...but it could be that your vw needs a recharge. My fluids were fine so vw thinks it's the evaporator. Unfortunately the evaporator is behind the dash...so they have to take the whole inside front end to get to it...looking at about 1600 to 2000$.
I was also wondering if you could do a video on replacing the headlight and the foglight bulbs with led ones, without them fogging up in winter (it snows really bad where i live)? Would be really helpful!!
Im having an issue with the white fastener for the outer tail lights, after placing new tail lights in, the fastener will not screw in. Im thinking I may have broke the clip that they are supposed to screw in to, any suggestions?
Neither of the bulbs in my tail light casing are working. I replaced the larger one and plugged it back in and it's still not working could it be a fuse
If bulbs and fuses don't fix the issue: get under your steering column and check that your loom connections are firmly plugged in. More likely than not, you've been playing footsie. And if that doesn't work, proceed with checking your relays, grounds and ohms tests, setting your car on fire (joking), etc
If you notice there was a cut scene when he took the tab off. It is not just "that easy" if it was he could easily do it one handed no? That sht is a pain if you got 3 hands bruh 😆
The panel that the bulbs hook into? If so, there are a few tabs that stick straight up and you have to push them out of the way to slide up the panel. It’s a little annoying but I just raised up one side first.
If you click on one of the links in the description or just go onto Amazon, it will tell you what to use. You could also take yours out and take it to an auto shop. There’s many easy solutions
@MT Paradise if you just read it off the bulb in your video that would have been the best and easiest solution but instead I have to go and look in your description for something that may not have even be listed and what if I didn't have a bulb in my tail light already because the previous owner removed it for some unknown reason. I'm just saying
wow, that is so much easier than I thought. Thank you for the video, probably saved me at least $100.
It is a pretty easy process. I’m glad I could help!
As usual the videos are very informative. Photography always puts the viewer right at the scene.
Thank you
Even tho it’s a easy job it’s nice to have a visual before you even touch your car. Thanks for the video, much appreciated.
Oh for sure. I’m completely understand that!
Thanks for the great video! Saved me calling my father in law. He's a beauty but I like to bug him for the big stuff only. 😊🤟

Oh interesting. I’m sure they do. I’ll see if I can find it somewhere. A junk yard might be an option too

I’m sorry but I no longer have the Jetta
Are the reverse light bulb different on the 2018 Jetta se?
I’m not sure about that
Gotta be the hulk to take the damn screw out
Hahaha yeah they can be pretty snug

have you shown how to replace the passenger side daytime running light?
I did do a video of replacing the whole headlight itself and it’s in the playlist with this video
Thank you
You’re welcome!
At 4:29 the part with the inner taillight what’s goes in the empty space
Honestly I have no idea 😂 maybe they use that same part for another car that then uses it. That’s the only thing I can think of
How do a i get the bulbs out of the plastic holder though?
The twist like 90° then pop out
Thank you!!
You’re welcome. I’m glad I could help
I wanted to change the bulb above the license plate to a led one, is it possible?
I was also wondering if you could do a video on replacing the headlight and the foglight bulbs with led ones, without them fogging up in winter (it snows really bad where i live)? Would be really helpful!!
I’ll look into it and I’ll see what I can do
what’s the 3 bulb about on the rear light
I believe it’s the regular taillight, brake light, reverse light
How long you had this car and does this car have power widows
I’ve had it for a handful of months but it belonged to my girlfriend who had it since it was new. It does have powered windows
Can you provide the bulb replacement numbers?
I included links in the description for the replacement parts but I don’t have the car anymore so I can’t check the parts on it
Thank you so much
You’re very welcome!
Thanks
No problem!
Great instruction! Easy to follow instructions. Thank you!

Im having an issue with the white fastener for the outer tail lights, after placing new tail lights in, the fastener will not screw in. Im thinking I may have broke the clip that they are supposed to screw in to, any suggestions?
Oh dang I wish I could help but I’m not sure. The only thing I can thing of is to check out the area where it would screw into
Do you know where the left tail light fuse is located?
I’m sorry but I’m not sure exactly where that would be
Thank you
You’re welcome. I’m happy to help
Should've done the tag lights as well since you were right there...good video though,
Dang I didn’t even think about that at the time 🤦🏼♂️
I have a mk6 2012 I wanna know where's the rear fog lamp location if anyone can help much appreciated
It should be located in one of the taillights on the driver side
You rock
Thank you. I try 😂
Merci mec, c’est trop facile fait ☑️
It’s a quick easy project
I've never had to replace bulbs on any car I've owned more than my mk6 TDI
😂😂😂 same
ahaha same man. Ive replaced headlights, tail lights , turn signals it’s ridiculous.
What do you do if the trunk tail light bolts are so damn tight that even our drill cant turn them at all?
Oh gosh. I would suggest using something to get leverage. Maybe a pipe over the handle of a wrench. I hope you’re able to get them off
Neither of the bulbs in my tail light casing are working. I replaced the larger one and plugged it back in and it's still not working could it be a fuse
That is likely the reason. Hopefully it’ll work out
Thanks
No problem. I’m glad I could help
I have two passenger side windows won’t roll ? Help!!!
I wish I could but I never worked on that with mine and I no longer have the car. I’m guessing the motors went out
Which bulbs are they?
I have links for them in the description

You took the time to make at least a seven minute video and to talk about your fancy LED light bulb but you didn't say what size should go in there
