This thing really came as a great surprise. Honestly the least exciting tank out of the Holiday Ops lootboxes, but in the end, the most awesome one to play in my experience so far.
I struggled with this tank a lot in the first 20 games. I found it better to go heavy line and support since the gun handling allows you get easy cupola shots up close. I like how it’s basically a 2023 super Pershing; probably the only tank I would say is balanced

It's hilarious that this tank would ever be added like this.
Funnily enough, the tank the M47 Improved is based on is actually a modernization package for the M48 from the 1990s, which could make this the most modern tank currently in WOT

I'll admit when I received this as my first loot box tank I was a bit disappointed. However once I played a couple of battles I realized that it was a bit of a sleeper and was pretty awesome! I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment QB!
The Super Pershing is one of my favorite tanks and this one would definitely compliment my playstyle, it's not flashy but it will plant it's tracks and dare you to try and pass!
Not only is it a medium brawler, but I also average 80 to 120k credits a game. Angle that lower plate and protect your cupola. Because of the slow speed and great turret, I usually fight with the heavies. This tank surprised me and I have fun playing it.
The Iron Arnie is balanced, it has pros and cons, like you said, bad DPM, speed, camo, but it also has it pros, penetration, armor and decent damage. It also has some weakspots that can be penetrated with standard ammo, its cupola, lower plate and the gaps on the spaced armor. This tank does stack up really well with skill and knowledge while retaining a decent learn curve, meaning it is even more rewarding when you know what to do. Just to finish, because of the high pen, it is a great credit grinder, so if you need to get that tier X tank, this one will sure help you! WarGaming nailed this tank perfectly as a balanced and fun tank to play and fight against, unlike the Bz-176 and the Vipera.

I've been impressed with it so far. It basically feels like the 430 II before it was transformed into a sniper; very good auto ricochet angles on that upper hull when you charge somebody
One time only I would like to see review played with REGULAR equipment ! Thts give u the AVERAGE JOE stuff . Not everyone has or can afford premium aiming device or improved vents etc. And they make a substantial difference.

Luckily I got the BZ and the I IronArnie as well, two tanks that were on my list of "wants for this Christmas" althoug, I spent more than I wanted to get the two of these. That's right; I did not get the tier 9 Char. But, I'm not done yet.
You are a big investor in this game I see… my advice is live your live, buy some clothes, have a nice dinner instead of spending money on this trash game.
Note: Arnold actually has a normal M47 Patton 2. The Iron Arnie is a M47 Patton Improved. It is not a production vehicle that saw service, so it isnt actually Arnold's tank. Also, there is no M47 Patton in World of Tanks. The M46 has a different (weaker) hull than the M47 Patton.
Ofc WG realizes that there is good equipment to compensate their balancing stats. It's just that not anyone has them or can afford them, favouring the p2w player - a known tradition
I got all the tanks in 52 boxes on NA server. Arnie was the one i wanted the most, and it came last, of course. Still haven't played a single game with light tank, and only played2-3 with BZ. I like AMBT, but i kinda wish it's got a bit more of something, either mobility, armor or dpm, as it seems a bit lacky on all fields unless you can afford all bond equipment, which i can't.
You should check out what WG did with this tank on the console edition!! Its now a tier 10 with 3635 DPM. 268/330 pen and 390 damage. A 6.43 reload time 1.78 aim time and .34 dispersion. Top speed is now 45mph, 2100 health and 436 view range. And you can buy it out right for approximately 9k gold during the holiday event if you do some very easy ops.

Really think QB should use standard equipment during the review, damn, maxed out crew combined with bounty equipment, has all the field mods unlocked and used....so IMHO the review is drastically skewed. Maybe show us what we get out of the cox then do all the upgrades and show the improvement
It would have been nice they added a STC correct M47 Patton as a premium tank in the Austrian army colors. And made the "Iron Arnie" Patton as a tier 9 tank.
Ambt is probably better, especially late game with the clip damage. Can be used semi aggressively with the strong turret which is basically an auto bounce in most places. Nice tank 👍🏼
Honestly I am finding the iron arnie to be a counter to the BZ. You never see more than the turret of the arnie, but it blocks shells so often, and HE barely scratches them. And yeah the pen on arnie is sick
Soooo many tanks in my garage I haven’t played yet including this and the astron Rex. I got the AMBT the first time it was out, and my go to America is the Super P or Fury. I just have too many American mediums.
I got this tonight. Drunk opening boxes, natch. Watching people play it tho, it looks pretty sick; That turret is pretty mega. (I wanted the rocket Chinese one but I'll take this one!)
Players usually get punished very hard when they play their tier 8 mediums(kind of similar when they play tier 7,8 TDs), even they only made very small mistakes. But this tank is forgivable due to its armor, and has the penetration to compensate the weakness of most tier 8 mediums have. It is a good tank in its form, and a 'black horse' just like Gsor 1008.
im so sad right now that i didnt try getting this tank during the christmass event T_T .... i REALLY REALLY hope that i get another oppertunity to get it again... this tank is literally EVERYTHING ive been looking for.

Why you use the aiming circle equipment in the mobility slot instead of the vents? The vents receive the buff from the mobility slot, the aiming reticle not...

Hate how the crew composition is different from the tech tree medium tanks. Hopefully, making crews common is the next part of Crew 2.0 that makes it into the game - like how Sixth Sense is now free.
A decent idea, but with all the different crew members, I have a hard time imagining an implementation of it. Maybe the combined crew is formed once you put every crew member in a tank.

Why is M46 tier IX, but an improved version of the M47 is a tier lower at tier VIII, the same tier as M26 Pershing, a tank that preceded both, by a lot.

Really enjoyed this one the most out of the Prems I got in my loot boxes. Easiest to play and do well in fairly consistently.
Of the new loot crate tanks, this has been my favorite just because it's so consistent.
I managed to get an ace on my 3rd game in this tank. Feels really consistent, love the way it plays

They tune the tanks down in certain aspects so when you equip them you have to sacrifice something.
So it's still balancing them.

So happy for this tank. Its well balanced and for me as Arnie fan fun to play. Waiting for the Arnie commander so i can fulfill the Arnold machine.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get this but I got the AMBT instead, so I can't really complain.

Oh man, I have Type59, and it has 218 pen on gold, which is making the tank almost impossible to pen when facing higher or equal tiers..
won the iron Arnie! and I just completed the Arnie mission, so I have Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Iron Arnie!

This is a little beast. Honestly I think that its appearance is not that good, but it performs pretty well.
Strangely the crew layout matches the T95E6 clan wars tank.
I also feel like this is the American version of the 122 TM. That’s what I really want to see this compared to.

In this tank i use everything that reduce hus dispertion while moving . It reduce his didpertion too much on the paper but the gun behave realy well

This is 4 months later. I just bought it because I came up againt it in a lot of battles. Lets see what it can do
BZ 176 does as much damage as a STII salvo with a high roll and has rocket boosters and great armour, what a joke lol
