it's 2024 and this is still a severely underrated song.
Truth. Just shared this song with my Gen Z adult child. John Denver is timeless.
Hearing the introduction he gave here made me appreciate both the song and John himself a lot more. The thing he said about how a lot of young men really need a home and don’t have it resonated pretty deeply with me, and I think it’s probably even more true today than it was then
Probably his most underrated song
"Some people are locked in, and some people are locked out ".
Peace, John.
❤❤❤
love the way it sounds like two guitars when he plays this
You should listen to him play the 12 string! Bells of Rhymney live !
Wow! One of my favorites by him done extremely well live, thanks so much for this. How he gets his voice into those high octaves without cracking blows me away, sounds so good.
It's been one of my favourites from him for years. John was so underated as a musician and a singer.
2:52 Absolutely love this part. All harmonics.
John was so underated as a guitarist. I've heard other musicians compliment him on his playing ability.
I love the way the host asks “could you play that song for us” it’s almost like a bunch of friends hanging out and he’s sheepishly/childishly like go on, give it a go! But at the same time it’s also like hurry up and play the gd song hahaha
Back when Geraldo was almost cool.
This just resonates with me on every level
I will never stop missing him ❤️
Can you imagine any current artist who could even be in the same league as this vocally much less while displaying the musicianship required for this song? No autotune here!
Wow , great video! Really shows the awesome power of JD, guitar and voice.
I miss 70’s folk type music!
Yes especiaaly after listening to what John said about this song I love John and will always miss him RIP JD❤

AMAZING
Have a look at Fil from ‘Wings of Pegasus’ analysing John’s pitch perfect performance of this song.
🧡🖤🤍🧡🧡🖤🖤🤍🤍🧡🧡🧡 john
does anyone know any vdeos of someine teaching this on guitar cause i catn find a a single one
John plays it in drop D and it's basically just G and D the whole song as far as I can tell.
Drop D, D and G through out. But it also sounds good if you briefly walk between with a C.
Thanks for uploading. If you have a minute come check out my cover of The Lumineers - I'm a singer/songwriter and think you may dig my sound. Really appreciate it!
