Loving it Ann. Here’s a surprise - I won a huge set of professional acrylics, with easel and haven’t used them. Coincidentally though, I bumped into the big wooden storage box that also came with it all yesterday, knocked it off the unit, it crashed to the floor, opened up, and very squished metal tubes of paint, long handled, brand new brushes flew in all directions. I got a fright (I may also have cried a bit, but that’s just between us) and then swiftly fell over it. I had had to leave my wheelchair at the door and attempt a furniture walk - for a pencil…!!?? That room is most definitely out to kill me. Needless to say, I spent quite some time on the floor doing a mental checklist - nothing broken, but a wee bit banged up. Did not get the pencil, then found my good mechanical pencil in the lounge today, and finally began painting cards - ok, ONE card that took 7 hrs. 🤦🏼‍♀️
I do believe I may leave the acrylics alone, gathering dust for another year yet. Fabby painting Ann, I had no idea there were so many different types of acrylic. I love a good snowman, and you gave me three 🫶🏻🫶🏻👩🏻‍🎨🎨🖌️

Oh nooooooo!!!! Im so sorry you suffered an unwanted gymnastics routine all for a pencil!!
Truly not worth it, and I do believe your efforts 🤸🏻‍♂️✏️ deserve a 🥇 gold medal!!
Hope the bumps and bruises aren’t too bad. Seven hours ultimately well spent and that card better not go to the bin!!🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@artonthecreek I promise not to bin it. It came out ok. One down, 3 to go plus 2 birthday. I truly do need to start in August NOT on the 26th Dec.

Wow, I would be timid with acrylics - haven't used them in 40 years. Good on you for bravely diving right in and whipping up a handsome row of snowfolk! We rarely get enough snow to build snowmen, here. In recent years, anyway. I recall some pretty heavy snowfall from childhood, though. I kinda miss that. ❄☃

Hello my friend! Happy Holiday Season! When we lived in Seattle for a short time we got some snow. I couldn’t understand why no one shoveled until I tried…that snow was SO WET AND HEAVY!! Aaannndddd then everything froze into solid ice. A totally different experience for me!
Acrylics-fun to play with and I didn’t throw my back out! Huge plus!😅

@@artonthecreekYou just described Scottish snow Ann. The higher the altitude though, the more powdery. Right now though, rain, more rain, torrential rain, rain with high wind - aka horizontal rain, soaking rain, spitting rain, sleety rain… I do believe you get the current weather picture here 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anita that sounds……very, very WET!! And cold, and miserable, and like the best place to be in Scotland this time of year is huddled by a fire, enjoying painting something beautiful!
Oh, I’ve no doubt that Scotland is gorgeous…all that green comes at a cost, that’s for sure!
I’m sure with the right clothing, I could find a way to survive! 🐑 🧶 🩷🩷

That’s definitely something I’ve noticed there’s a large mental switch for me when I do acrylics cause I usually use watercolors, you just reminded me that I can build up a 3-D texture with acrylics. I completely forgot about that!

HUGE mental switch! Probably good for us in some way, right?!?! Growth and all that good stuff?!?!🥰
I do like the Heavy Body acrylics for their texture effects. ❄️ Thanks again! Have a really great week!!

Hi Anne, this set looks nice. While I am not knowledgeable about acrylic paint, I really enjoy working with it. It was my favorite medium until I discovered watercolor. I am a late bloomer to the art world.
We do get snow where I live in North Central Washington. And we make fun of Seattle for closing schools when it snows a paltry six inches, lol.
As for snowman, coal was not available to us, so we used rocks for eyes and buttons.Liquitex is a decent brand of student paint. A professional brand is Golden Acrylic. The company that makes Golden also makes Qor watercolors.

Hi Diane! Yes I knew Golden made Qor but I’ve never really worked with acrylics, as per the video!🫶🏼
Buttons….of course! That would work well!
      Have fun playing with acrylics!!

I was laughing when you first showed the box I thought it was massive and just had a little tubes of paint in there 🤣 I work with acrylic sometimes this actually looks like a really nice box.

Thank you for watching and commenting-I’m glad to know from someone who has worked with acrylics that this set ranks fairly high! Happy Holidays and happy painting!
