Are big red blood cells causing fatigue? What is your MCV?

  • An elevated MCV (mean corpuscular volume) is an indication of impaired oxygen delivery.
This can result in symptoms of fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath and decreased life performance.
When red blood cells are small it often associated with low iron but when they are big nutritionally it is usually related to low B12, folate, thiamine, and B6.
Recognize if oxygen delivery is impaired then it is really challenging for healing to occur.
The next time you get a CBC check your MCV level. The goal is to have it around 88-90. We don’t want it too low either as that also impairs oxygen delivery.

Pain! Lactic acid pain!!!! It's debilitating and I cry everyday its so bad! My mcv is 100.1 .. trying to educate myself before going back to the doctor. ty for this video.. it is the best so far.. I'm trying to regulate my blood sugars, and I figured my B's are low. Also low Copper can increase cortisol from what I understand. So I'm looking at Copper, lowering my blood sugars, take my b's. I don't need to get a fatty liver test.. lol all I have to do is look at my midsection! And Copper is the boss over iron! Copper is important and our soils are depleted of it.. be wise in who you listen to about Copper being toxic!

Delayed diagnosis of celiac disease with gastritic eosinophilia, hypothyroidism and cerebellar ataxia.
B1/B6/B9/B12 are normal (homocysteine back to 8) but my mcv is still at 104 (values that I had forn20 years).
What do you think? I know that there are too many autoimmune conditions unfortunately.

I’ve always had a higher MCV 97-98 range but after 3 years or breastfeeding it’s now 104. My serum b-12 is 640 and folate is >24. Homocysteine is 4.4. I also have low RBC 3.78 and low ferritin 31. I’m taking heme iron to address the low ferritin. Also started supplementing with methyl folate, b-12 and a b complex daily. Anything else I’m missing? I need to get this MCV down. Please help!

My MCV is 99 but every thing else in blood panel is normal. So my doctor didn’t comment at all on these results.

Also how would I go about taking your iron supplement on trt? Is it still safe to take as recommended? I know I need to be more careful on trt with iron or so I’ve heard.

You need to be careful about your red blood cells going too high. This is not an iron problem. Check you ferritin and you will be good to go 👍🏻

@@DrWholeness folate and B12 are good, but sodium is low (potasssium a well) could that be the cause?
I think my blood ph-level is to low ..then could it be acidosis and is this causing elevated MCV?
Will taking thiamine solve this? What can i do?
