KLM had a similar livery before United. I agree, best looking livery. Unfortunately for UA, their miserable customer service never matched their excellent livery.
The new American Airlines livery on a 747-8 is absolutely stunning. Even as a mock up. This was actually one of my favorite little vids you guys have done haha
Delta's livery looks so sharp! My biggest regret is that I've never gotten to fly the Queen of the Skies. This iteration is very fuel efficient, so please Delta, won't you get some? I want to fly one so bad!
As a 12 and 13 year old boy who was the son of a Miami-based Delta DC-8 captain, I flew five Delta 747-132 flights between Chicago-O'Hare and Miami in 1971 and 1972. I may be biased, but the current Delta livery looks the best on the 747-8. Also, the current American and United liveries are 'billboard" liveries, so the names of both airlines would go through the passenger windows on the fuselage.
AA livery would look the best to me. I heard Delta never liked the 747 and when the merger happened with NWA they had to use them. Don't know if that's true..
It's not that they didn't enjoy the 747s its the fact that they didn't like how inefficient they were at the time. When the merger initially happened back in 2008 fuel prices were skyrocketing and on the chopping block were the larger 4 engine aircraft of which the first to go were Northwest's 747F freighter fleet. The continued to use the 747-400s all the way to 2018 when they finally retired them.
I miss the old days going by the San Francisco airport at night and seeing all the 747 tails in a half circle around the terminal...Air New Zealand, Singapore, Qantas, China Airlines, Delta, United, Philippines, Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France...shall I go on? ...
My favorite seat was 10A on the main deck of the NWA 747-400 which later became Delta's. While the main deck did not feel as cozy as the upper deck, this seat had an extraordinary amount of leg space, like a foot more than most business class seats. It faced a bulkhead and was probably just the lucky beneficiary of extra space the airline couldn't make profitable use out of. BTW, never liked looking out the windows of the upper deck seats. Always felt like I had to slouch a great deal in order to see properly.
Back and forth to South Korea and the US east coast 3x's. When you could smoke in the cabin. They were alot better than the -100 and -200. Flew with united and dam they were good in all classes. Flight was so long I was helping the flight crew on the upper deck. Awesome
@@skyserf because they weren’t in the United fleet, when Continental was taken over by United there were no 747 in CO‘s fleet, so why should they be included in United fleet when they were never owned by them

On the paper they still were the same company, so same Name, Codes, AOC, ...!
Definitely think that out of all the three US airlines, United wins bc that airline used the 747 longer than any other airline and United pilots are much more used to it than Delta or American
I flew AA 747 in the late 70's from Boston to Chicago and back. They had a small bar in the front for 1st class and a much bigger bar in the back with a piano built in for the coach passengers. I actually played a couple of fun songs as did a couple of others. Not sure how many years they did that but it was really neat and fun. It must have taken up 6 to 8 rows of seats and to much revenue.
You forgot to add the wavy dark blue line on the UA 747. DL is the prettiest one while AA's looks busy. I like both DL and AA's previous liveries better.
American, Delta, United and other ex-747-400 carriers should really invest into the 747-8i, to go alongside the 777X fleet as well as the 787 Dreamliner fleet too. 👌🏾
@@dustinpatrickpeters8824 absolutely also on Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. Still hasn't sunk in that how they both retired their B747s earlier than expected

I really wish they order it before it goes out of production. It would look epic! But I believe that they won’t operate to my home airport (LAX) because the 747-8i uses the TBIT. :(

I think every airlines in the world should order at least 1 B747-8 (and if must, A380) and operate it with higher fees then normal to see if customers choose to fly on it or not. It would be a money maker. At least 1.

yeah, american is basically the only one who hasnt operated a 747 in the 2000's they did in the 80s tho
These 747-8 orders should not waste time while it's still in production

American and Delta livery for the tie on the 747-8i. United’s Battleship Grey livery would look astonishing on the 747-8i as well.
