14:44 Brain glitch: wrote "Last chance for Green-billed Malkoha" instead of Green-billed Coucal... (I have seen Green-billed Malkoha in SW Thailand, I know the difference between the species, but grabbed the wrong name from my memory bank.)

Sri Lanka is an exotic place to bird. Lots of cool birds 👍🙂

Indeed there was! Also lots of uncool land-leeches of different sizes (eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!) which made me somewhat unfocused during these days. They were everywhere, on the ground, on grass-stems, on bush-leaves, on leaves of low-hanging branches. I'm stunned by the fact I got these many photos of as many species as I got!
Anyway, after this part we're entering drier parts of our trip and left the leaches behind.

You probably inow this but if you ever go to a leach place again, bring salt and if you get attached, salt on it. Oh yeah, the whip-snake. We have a tree snake reminding of this one. We almost walked into it one day due to it looking like something growing out of the ground and it was totally still. (tawny) Frogmouths are my favorite! Such a puzzle pic the Pea Fowl. The bird names are closing in on us! Good job!

To the number of leeches in Kitulgala and Sinharaja not enough salt in the world would've been enough...😬You have leeches, too, yes? I'll have it in mind. The bird species will once again grow farther away, when the Sri Lanka series is done (prob 4 videos), aah, wait! No, I'll try to get something from our Thailand tour before Alaska. Both will be slideshows: no video cam on those trips.

Hello Hummingbirder1! 😃 This may be my current favorite of your videos. Sri Lanka is such a beautiful, exotic place and has such an "old world" vibe about it. I would love to go there. Quite an amazing array of photos here. I always thought Terns and Egrets were very pretty, while the Hornbill manages to look both cool and goofy. Still I've ben a fan of herpetology ever since I was young so my personal favorites were the iridescent green Whipsnake, and the hulking Water Monitor. Awesome!!

Thx, buddy! Praise will get you everywhere, maybe even to a Part 2 uploaded in modern time ;-)

Also: that Whipsnake got me extatic too, which made me try to film it even though I only had that shitty point-and-shoot camera at hand. The videocam must've been left in the backpack in the car or something. I have sooo little video material!

@@Hummingbirder1 Still looks good to me. Kinda hard to miss that fellow. You're too hard on yourself. You do good work and this looks like a lot of fun. Take your time with Part Two, anticipation and the fonder heart and all. Plus I need to check out some of your back catalogue.
