I have a pair of $300 custom ear plugs that were provided to me by a previous employer and I still prefer the cheap foam earplugs for riding.

Enjoy your posts on this channel as well as your Harley channel. I have noticed that you seem to wear different gear like helmet, jacket, gloves, boots maybe, not sure about pants etc, just wondering about your choices and how you make them and why? Between both,Harley kind of cruising/touring riding and sport bikes with more of spirited riding?

I usually ride up until December. Depending how low the temperature drops. And the reason most North Eastern Americans dont ride as much in the fall. Is because alot of them dont even wear gear. Im not really a big fan riding in hot humid weather. I will do it, but im not a fan of it. Fall and spring are like the best seasons to ride. Especially to keep the motorcycle cool. For the past few years. Winters haven't really been that cold in the New York City region. Sometimes you can ride as early as March, if you wear your leather.

Fanatix, on the 3 hour ride that you did, how was knees, lower back and overall shoulder and neck area from that amount of time on the s1000RR?....Here in Hawaii(island of Oahu), the weather is perfect every day..haha...so riding everyday is the best. :)

So I’ve said it in previous videos, I am 6‘2“ tall and about 210 pounds. The biggest reason I purchased this bike was its comfort. Truthfully, if the seat was a little more comfortable, which I think I will be getting a aftermarket seat in the future I could easily do several hundred miles a day
Also, the ergonomics of the bike is very good for a taller rider probably the best out of all the litre bikes

@@cyclefanatixsport yeah, look into the comfort seat from Wunderlichamerica comfort seats and it's good to know that the ergonomics and comfort can keep you on the bike for hundreds of miles per day. That's encouraging to say the least :)

July and August are brutal in NE Florida. The main purpose of getting a shower before going riding is having a clean base to put deodorant on!😂 Pretty much unbearable with riding jeans, mesh jacket, summer gloves, and a full face helmet. I do a little riding in the late afternoon once the humidity and temps drop, but then the bike gets covered in bugs. I mainly just get some late afternoon pedal therapy on the road bicycle those months. I thoroughly enjoy riding the other months!

Oh man, definitely wear plugs. The wind alone is damaging your hearing. I use EarPeace Moto Pro plugs. They have filters that still allow non damaging sound in. They work well and I can still hear normal sounds just muffled a bit. Takes the edge off.

that sucker is so fast lol I use earplugs every ride and when I watch Holy shift videos lmao I got a nice pair on amazon that filters out the bs, but you can hear ambient noise well, it changes the DBs and makes the ride nice while protecting your hearing. Lots options on amazon dude , GEAR is essential, no doubt

You don't wear earplugs?? I never get on the bike without them - it's coincidental that you talked about wearing the proper gear on the bike in this vid - to me, earplugs are an essential part of that. Most good earplugs are going to be designed to block out some frequencies more than others. The important part is getting earplugs that seal properly in your ears - buy a bunch, test a bunch. I mainly use Spark Plugs, which are a squeezy foam type, but better than the ones you can get at the local hardware store.
It's astonishing to me that your hearing isn't shredded, at the speeds you ride at. Wind noise is the #1 enemy of hearing, on the bike, and if I were to ride at those speeds for any amount of time without earplugs, the already bad ringing in my ears would be twice as bad.
Protect your ears, man - once that persistent ringing starts, it's unlikely that it'll ever go away.
