I drove those buses circa 1970, can you please refresh my memory as to where route 7 went?

Victoria used to be a 2 way street? And Ballance St had overhead trolley bus lines? Wow. Before my time. No. 7 bus route is like the longest surviving route that hasn't changed route number.

Prior to 1991 there used to be two trolleybus routes in the CBD city outer Route 7 and City inner the rest of the routes. Yes route 7 is now the longest surviving unchanged route. Prior to 2018 changes that title was held by route 1.

Shame that some level of service couldn't be continued. If memory serves correctly, there was an upgrade of the overhead wiring in the 1980s, about the time the Volvos were introduced. Now that there's talk of replacing the diesels with electric buses.... I also remember riding on Auckland's trolley buses when they were painted green.
