I used to use this playset for my DREADNOKS swamp base when I played with my GI JOES, so much fun.

This play set came to me second hand, but also in a rough period of my childhood. Playing with it helped me escape and I have one now that I love. Thanks for showing!

I can only imagine how excited a child would be to receive this playset as a gift! Just the mere act of opening it up and seeing all of the parts, and then spending two hours putting it together would be such a thrilling and frustrating experience!
    As always, great video brother!!!!!

I am making a catalogue that shows all the parts for quick reference, so that peeps can be able to use it on the go!

Nothing like building an Ewok Village on #VintageStarWarsSunday!!
I definitely had this one as a kid, and it was the backdrop for many, many play adventures.
I even have the Robin Hood version of this one as well now, that I picked up for a little bit of nothing back in the '90s.
I think every vintage Star Wars collector should have one of these in their collection, especially if they enjoy loose displays. Thanks for going over all the detailed instructions for assembly Joey.

This was one of my favourite playsets as a kid I remember spending hours playing with it! So when I started collecting 5 years ago this was one of the first things I bought and the only part I had missing was the t clip! So I have it set up with all my ewoks and most of the other endor figure's. Great video as always!!

I never had this one as a kid, although I wanted it. When I got back into collecting towards the end of 2022, this was in the top 5 of my list playsets and vehicles to get. So I sought one in the beginning of '23. You're right, getting a complete one is a challenge. I bought a "complete" one on ebay but when it arrived it was missing a part, even though the part was on it in the pictures. The seller did give me a partial refund, to his credit and honor, however that led me down a rabbit hole of searching for parts that ended up with me buying two more near complete Ewok Villages and many more parts in the last year! So now I have an Ewok City! One of the villages I can't get it apart and I don't want to pull too hard, as you mentioned the old plastic is somewhat brittle. Anyway, when I get the time, I'm going to set about restoring them. I'll probably sell one off and one I may customize as I've seen on some other videos. Probably the one that's stuck together. I'm going to come back to your video for reference then. Its very handy. I have two nets to string, and one to unstring and do right. 🙃

    • @thepadawancollectorofficial
      @thepadawancollectorofficial  6 месяцев назад

The nets are the biggest headache on these!!! And I can imagine how hard it would be to hunt for pieces at decent prices. I am searching for some playset pieces now and even though it’s frustrating, I honestly enjoy the hunt lol. Take care my friend and thanks for watching

I bought one brand new in 1991 that was complete that I still have on display. I wasn't able to get it when it first came out in 1983 because I didn't have my own place yet. Now its displayed as it should be with all of the Ewoks with Anakin, Obi Wan, and Yoda on deck watching the celebration.

I inherited this playset years ago from my cousin. Back then, I didn't think too much about the Ewoks, but I definitely didn't like them. Eventually I gave the entire set to the thrift store, and if you knew me back then, you never would think I'd ever, ever give Star Wars toys to anybody, much less an uncaring thrift store. I think it was Jar-Jar Binks that did it, that character showed me that the Ewoks wasn't just a one-off bad idea, but it was a trend, and I officially didn't want anything to do with things I don't like in the Star Wars universe anymore. Unfortunately, while a lot of great things have come along since then, the bad characters and ideas have really multiplied and I'm no longer an active Star Wars fan. (I watch things like this channel out of nostalgia, not active collecting. All other Star Wars-related RUclips channels get a "Don't show this channel" from me. I'm all vintage, no Ewok.)
I also never played with this set, it came after I was too old to be actually playing with these toys, and the internet wasn't a factor yet, either, so no eBay. The Star Wars playset was far more appealing than this thing. I remember that when I was getting the figures for my birthday or Christmas, which was a BIG deal for me, whenever I got one of the Ewoks, I just didn't care about it. It was for completionism, not actual want. Just a blob of uninteresting plastic. A dumb human-bear that has trouble walking, much less actually doing anything. They have sticks, not blasters. For the first time, I actually didn't like a Star Wars figure, and I think there were seven of these? And still no Tarkin, Slave Leia, or Rebel Trooper (from A New Hope)?
It is a tragedy that the Ewoks weren't Wookiees like they were originally supposed to be. That would have been awesome. Ewoks are the only thing I don't like about the original trilogy.

It's not putting it together that's the tricky bit, it's taking it apart, the plastic used for it is so brittle and breaky!
I didn't have on the first time around but was lucky enough to find a boxed complete one in the 90s and even then I didn't snap it together fully for fear of breaking it!
It's just a pity it didn't come with foliage like the Robin Hood re-release did, that would've made it one of the standout playsets in the line.
A dream would be to have two or three of these and link them together to make one big Ewok town..! 😁✌️
