Its actually a clay generated in computers and they put a little dot in every joint, face muscles and a lot more, to make it more realistic the more dot you add the more movement and the more movement the more realistic it is. They use that to move the character that they shaped and that's the foundation. Other artist or designer polish it and generate it and it's done. They don't hand paint every scene that would take them 50 years or so
Guys don't get discouraged , time is not everything. the final image is what matters. Just get inspired and paint , and with every painting you become a little bit faster and better. She has been doing this for long time and is good at it. Just strive and paint - have fun with your work and stay positive. 8:08 am to 10:32 am is not 1 hour and 18 min but 2 hours and 24 min. +sketch time.... it is only the original speed up video that is one hour. For most people even 2-3 hours is really fast , all I want to say is take your time , don't rush your paintings. Paint until you are happy with it and that is all that matters. Papa Bless

What I learned from this video: 1. It's okay to use the free transform tool. 2. Not all art styles require an outline. (Some styles seemed to use a thin outline but I could never tell) 3. Merging transparent layers onto your main layer to reduce layer clutter.(I'm used to foldering them up) 4. I have a long way to go.
I want to bring the joy of painting in colors back again, so I am watching this amazing painting time lapse. Imagine how awesome it would be if Sakimichan discovered Houseki no Kuni though?

the quickest I've ever drawn a super detailed piece is 3 days. but I have learn a lot watching this and I might want to mimic the art style. for still art purposes not for animation. that would be a pain.
