- So it’s my contention that country music has the best players of mini genre of music by a country mile! Do you agree or disagree? Comment below, and let me know your thoughts on this and also for you country fans, who are some players I should be checking out?
I am a Punk/Metal/Hard Rock guy in general... but I totally agree with you. I believe it might be the cleaner guitar tones that require CW players to play with more dexterity and articulation. Also, let's face it, a lot of today's newer Country players grew up listening to Eddie and Angus as well! I've always thought that Clarence White of the Byrds in their Nashville West era is a great player that deserves more recognition.
Couldn’t agree more on all points! Clarence is a hero of mine for sure. “sweetheart of the Rodeo” is a timeless masterpiece.
I agree too. Marty Stuart has been playing Clarence’s Tele for years.
Absolutely!
Who’s your favorite?
@@thefretfiles I think Guthrie Trapp might be the best I’ve ever heard but I always go back to Don Rich and Pete Anderson.
@@josephcorcoran8714 Guthrie is amazing yes! And an excellent blues player as well. Don Rich is definitely a favorite of mine.
Yeah Brent Mason is ridiculous too. When I was a kid even the thought of playing country music really freaked me out.
I think like you said, the studio guys are soo fucking good I just figured I wasn’t good enough.
I wanted to ask you if you gave Dwight Yoakam a good hard listen. I remember mentioning Pete Anderson and Eugene Edwards when I commented before.
Yeah! Pete Anderson has the touch for sure. Dwight is pure Bakersfield and Pete crafted the perfect hooks for those songs.
