Do have to note the importance of health protection when using 2k polyurethane. They contain chemicals called isocyanates which are sensitizers, meaning that your body can react badly to the stuff after being exposed to the chemical through any amount of exposure. Whether you'll have a reaction will entirely depend on your body, and just because your body didn't react to a small exposure doesn't mean you're safe since sensitisation can develop over repeated exposures. So avoiding even the smallest exposure through the use of gloves, respirator, spray booth, etc is a must.
Of course, that's why 2K paints are being outlawed and mainly water based paints used for automotive use. Full eye and skin protection is required. This stuff is lethal.
FYI, outside of water, anything we spray through an airbrush isn’t safe. So proper PPE should always be used.
Years ago I would lay factory floors with resin my boss was my girlfriend dad lol. First I had all my mates helped but the resin gave them dermatitis on there arms and face so I had to help him for few years and showed me everything I was lucky my skin not dry. Her dad is not with us anymore died of cancer definitely coz years working with resin. If I’m a small room you could see the air misty
@@johnsmitht11 watch the construction video about asbestos the worker bring the clothes home to get the wife to wash them and she died too
People that paint cars with urethane and 2K clear wear full 3M suits force fed with fresh air. Full face mask, gas mask with organic vapor filters etc. This stuff is wildly dangerous and it's irresponsible for content creators to show it used on model cars. The finish he gets in this video is no better than one you can achieve with Tamiya or Mr. Color laquers and either brand's clear coat. There are a TON of people in the comments on this talking about how they're going to run out and buy autobody paint and 2K clear now and you just know the most that a majority of them will do is put on a single glove like in this video. He should take this down.
This channel is by far the best to learn about paint and supplies. All the guesswork is done for you. Watch, take notes, then paint!!
I was really impressed with the auto paints that you used. I am new to this hobby.
To tell you the truth I was shocked as to how nice this came out. It really is beautiful in person. Very easy to spray too
the 2K clear really makes the basecoat pop! Motivating me to finish a 57 T-Bird I'm doing for my dad.
Been waiting on pins and needles for you to do this review and to see how well the Airbrush and paint do on the model car. It's always a Fantastic day when I'm at dialysis and a brand new video pops up. Can't tell you just how awesome your videos are and how much I constantly learn from you. Thank you very much for sharing your reviews and please keep em coming. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😃 😊
I am glad to have found this channel. I never knew how easy painting could really be. Congratulations on the 50,000 sub mark!
This is going to help me quite a bit I think as I'll be painting a 55 Chevy model starting soon on my channel. Been binging your videos getting a feel for not only airbrush techniques but paint mix ratios, products, etc.
Any recommendations for 55 Chevy kits? My dad had restored a real one but had to sell it when his health got bad.
@@Bastardsama I have only built the old Monogram convertible kit before. Which is what i'm going to build again because I got it for free, lol. I would say any modern-ish kit from Monogram or AMT would probably be ok. Barbatos Rex might actually have a much better answer.
@@Bastardsama go to eBay and type
"AMT '55 Chevy Bel Air Sedan 1/25 Scale Plastic Model Kit" in the search bar
I'd personally say that airbrushing is more about feel than anything. I tried learning by watching videos and replicating what they were doing but I just ran into more frustration than anything. When I decided to just wing it and go with what worked for me I managed to improve my skills a lot faster. You can copy someone's instructions to the letter and get terrible results because everything can be compensated for with technique basically.
PSI, thinning ratios, how long you hold the trigger, how aggressively you pull it back, how close you hold the air brush, what angle you hold it to your work piece etc are all going to be different and you can't really learn that from a video. Depending on your technique maybe a lower PSI will feel more intuitive for you, maybe you need to increase your thinning ratio to compensate, maybe not. Its all about feel and experience.
The good news is that you'll develop that feel very quickly if you're not focusing on trying to copy other people and just going with what feels good for you. At the end of the day as long as the paint gets where you want it and delivers the finish you want there is no right and wrong technique, psi, thinning ratios, or anything else.
@@nelakendra2296 True. But I thought it best to absorb some info first, though. Rather than just going at it completely blind. The biggest thing was thinning ratios and not knowing where to start. Unfortunately I don't have any local friends that airbrush anything so I wasn't able to go hang out with anybody and get any pointers live. So. here I come, RUclips! lol.
I really love watching and learning a bunch about different paints and airbrushes as well as everything else you show
The colour looks great and the finish really pops with the 2K gloss clear. Looking forward to using an auto paint on one of my upcoming car kits. Thanks for your generosity and what you are doing for the model building community.
being new to airbrushing i have found your channel to be absolutely fantastic. the cheap tips and tricks and diy have been great while learning and not breaking the bank when things arent perfect
I used to work at a dealership 30 years ago. The painter in our bodyshop would mix me colors and clear to paint my models. He would also let me use the paintbooth. Those paint jobs turned out nice.
Great results, that charcoal color at the end was awesome, another excellent video and congrats on 50k!
I have been hooked on all the information and honest recommendations you give on products. With enthusiasm too! Congratulations on hitting 50k and here’s to the next.
Have always thought about using actual car paint for my models and this just confirmed my confidence in using these products without worrying about crazing the plastic.
You should be wary of the paint used. Not all paint are made equal in the automotive industry. Plasmo has a vid where he used some and effed up his kit and he had to redo it completely.
@@TheMozerfok thanks to the advice
I haven't airbrushed in almost 40 years! Was just inexpensive equipment back in the day! Like to get back into it! I've enjoyed your paint specific Channel for more than a year now. Thanks
The best part of that Virtue kit is you can display it as Nadleeh or Virtue. An informative video as always.
I have been learning so much from your channel. Particularly that there are alternatives to the expensive stuff marketed for modelling.
I'm loving your paint line and can't wait for the liners. Keep up the good work.
Love your honest and straight forward reviews! I started airbrushing in 1970 with a Thayer & Chandler.
It's really great that you take the time to do these tests for the rest of us! Thanks yet again for the awesome content. It's been indispensable for me as a new gunpla builder!
That's a gorgeous end result! And I can't help but notice those 6 bright, beautiful little tubs left of frame... can't wait! I've been putting off purchasing a new airbrush setup for several years, fingers crossed in that regard, too.
Colour & finish looks awesome. Really enjoy each video on your airbrushing techniques. You're smashing it bro. Thanks heaps
That paint is absolutely wonderful. Definitely something I should consider in the future. I will definitely be happy when my anti-static brush comes in. I love how you are using the brush. Thanks for sharing.
Really wonderful paint the model looks real. Thank you for all the great tips and info. You make getting into the hobby enjoyable. Have a good week.

These videos are so helpful. I just got back into modeling a few years ago. I would not be as advanced as I am now without your videos. Keep up the great work. I’m going to try 2k for the first time this weekend bc of you.

I learn something new every time watching your videos. Anti static brush , I never knew I would need one until now. 👍👍👍
I have just recently considered getting my first airbrush and compressor and your channel is one of the most helpful and informative I have found. Keep up the good work.
That Grex micro spraygun kit looks great, comes with just about everything you'd need as a workhorse airbrush.
Dang, this came out looking gorgeous! I love the way you walk us through your process. Fingers crossed for that airbrush!
Would love to have an air brush. Your paint reviews are great have learned alot from them.

I have been waiting for this video to see this paint job. 👍 Great looking kit and paint. Thank you for all your videos.
That color looks amazing, even better with the clear coat on it. I have three car kits I'll be starting after this plane I'm currently working on. Lots of good tips I'll try out when I start them. Thanks. 👍
Thanks for sharing your paint techniques, very helpful. I agree the 2k just makes the color pop!!
I just got started customizing hot wheels and am falling in love with airbrushing thanks to you!! Love the videos!
Amazes me the amount of vids you put out AND all are interesting and different.
Can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoy/benefit from your videos, from the dehydrator to the paint mixer, so many things, I love them all
Another great informative video, thanks for what you do
Yes that color is awesome! Gonna be doing some painting on a few models this weekend as well. Great video my guy.
Beeing watching your videos for quite a while and all of them had that enthusiastic energy from when we were kids, most of us forget that on our daily routine, so every one of your videos had that fresh emotion to keep the hobby on for me, thank you.
This video is perfect timing for me because I’m about to work on two car models. That 2k clear makes a huge difference. I do appreciate your videos. Especially the ones where you show how to mix different paints. I am having much better success when using my airbrush now.
I have just started in this and appreciate all of your videos. It is a really nice gift
Just came back from my cottage (an internet black zone) and catching up on your videos is always a priority for me! You provide such great advice and your enthusiasm is absolutely infectious. You convinced me to take the next step and try airbrushing my minis and models. Thanks!
I started watching about 6 months ago and enjoy these vids alot. Thank you much.
I love the demonstrations, keep em coming Barbatos Rex!
Thanks Again!
I'm a newbie to airbrushing and this channel has helped me with figure out how to use paints like Tamiya that are known as being difficult to airbrush. Thanks for the excellent content as always.
Thanks, Barbatos Rex! Watching your videos has helped 'reignite' my love and desire to get back into model kits, dioramas and such via your painting videos.
Keep up the efforts, they are extremely helpful to me.
Love all the different paint tests, saves me time and money..
I'm amazed at the way you teach us. Thank you. I've learned so much. Keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching.
I love your paint reviews but I’m really glad your changing it up and doing a build. Keep them coming
Great content as always and so generous to the community! 😃😃
This channel has taught me so much, started watching when I started building gundams almost a year ago. Keep up the good work bud!
Wow. You're absolutely right. That 2k clear was the perfect way to top off the paint job. I will have to keep that in mind for future reference.
Always informative with paint testings. As soon as I can I’m going to buy your paints
That gloss is gorgeous. I love seeing videos of odd products that might not come to mind when thinking about hobbies.
Another great video! I've been hesitant to try using real auto paint and knew nothing about using 2K clear - you've taken the mystery out of using them. Also, that trigger airbrush looks like a natural for painting model car bodies. Thanks for all you do for all of us hobbyists.
Always love to try new airbrushes! Thank You for all your reviews!
Airbrush and compress looks great and speak too. I’ve been experimenting with paints based on all the useful information in all your videos
Your tips are so helpful because you always focus on the little things
I enjoy your content. Always honest straightforward reviews and information that helps me become a better modeler. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words 👍
I have been seriously thinking about one of those trigger airbrushes. They look like they are both fun and easy to use. I know the one for the give away isn’t one, but I could use that too. Love that color on the car. Very nice. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Good luck with the panel liner, and good luck to the give-away participants (not me, since i'm outside the US... although I *would* probably spring for shipping on such an awesome package prize). Glad I found this channel, seems like you've curated an awesome community, and I enjoy the long form in depth tests, not easy to make those interesting. Keep up the great work, BR!
Great information every time! When I have a question about a product I search your channel first keep the good work.
Paint came out really nice on that model. Definitely looking forward to the panel liners as well, and not just for gunpla, I think it'll make for some cool effects on armored minis.
I'm just starting to airbrush you have helped me a lot with colors and mixing I'll be spring my fishing lures. Thank you for all the info
I love watching your videos. I have been watching them for over a year. Keep up the awesome work. I learn a lot from watching them.
I love your reviews, they helped me a lot when it came to choose to go from spray can to airbrush. I would love to see more videos with actual kits and not just spoons. :D
Always great content. Your vids allow people to gain confidence in their hobby. Thanks!
That paint looks great! I've been painting more and more and all your videos really help!
The red auto paint & the 2k come up great!
I also like the look of that Grex micro spray gun.
Congrats on the 50k subs & keep up the good work!
Luv your videos full off information inspired me to go back into car models. This video showed the Grex 0.7 trigger airbrush wow the difference it made when painting the body. The coverage was quick in the overall scheme of things.Cheers
Been waiting for this one, nice to see you painting a car model!
Awesome outcome! Love the color under the bench lights. While you were spraying it in the booth, I thought it would end up lighter, but it came out great! That Grex kit is pretty nice. Cool they had just about everything in it you would ever need. Keep up the great content!
Started watching your channel for the airbrush tips and paint tests to improve my airbrush game as I've been airbrushing less than a month. Now after your videos I'm branching off into more modeling because some of the wild paints you test that I love don't fit in the wargames I play. So now I'm shopping models and opening up to a whole new hobby. Paint in todays video looks great and thanks for the video!
super influential! great videos. glad there are still some out there sparking light in the hobby to younger hobbyists like myself!
Great channel. Love all the tests! Keep up the great work!!
Brilliant, I've been trying to figure out how to test a paint I've been interested in and this is really helpful.
I enjoy your videos. I learn new things with each and every one. I never used a airbrush before. Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming. I never had a airbrush let alone a compressor.
I love your videos. They are very useful, especially the DIY acrylic thinner.
Thanks for sharing.
Great job, the finish on the body looks fantastic!
Love the videos! I’m new to the hobby and getting ready to buy a compressor and airbrush. Research led me to your channel and I’m loving every video I watch!
As always, another great, in-depth analysis! Keep up the great work!
Love your channel. Tons of info. I have been hand painting with Tamiya paints for a long time. First paint job was on a grasshopper rc car. Now my daughter and I watch your channel for everything painting/airbrush and hobby. Thank you so much for the honest reviews 👍🏼😎
