    Hey Lucy,
    I really enjoy your lively candor in addressing all sorts of topics and responding to the question.
    I'm currently researching while I've only come across this opportunity to apply as I'm empty nesting, and looking forward to a new lease on life, and work.
    Blessings to you for work efforts to educate us.

    14 hours per day, 7 days a week. How is that even legal? With working that much you are only getting 3-4 hours of actual free time in between shifts including a 7-8 sleeping time.

Could you please do more crewmembers working in department, such as future cruises, servers, and restaurants, bartenders, and maybe a manager in food and beverage.
    Thank you.

    Given your rising popularity on You Tube and maybe other platforms, is there a significant amount of people that inquire about you to other crew and does it cause any issues or resentment with other crew members?

    When you fill out the application to work on the cruise ship if it tells you you need a passport do you go get a passport on your own and then stopped application and then when you get the passport fill out the remaining of the application or do you just fill out the application with no passport and then when I tell you to get your paperwork then you fill out the I get the passport how does that work

    • @captainjohn49
      @captainjohn49 Год назад

      Lucy has spoken about the applications process in some other videos here. As well as having career guides on her website, that should give you more details!
      Generically, I suggest that you don't wait to get a passport (you need a passport for all int'l travel). I don't work on a ship, so take this advice for what it's worth, but....but, don't stop the applications process once you start.
      I hope this helps?

    • @captainjohn49
      @captainjohn49 Год назад

      Lucy might have a better answer for you.
      Perhaps look at her career guides on her website.
      But, generally the answer is going to vary, and depend on your ship, your disembarkation nation/port, your particular job and contract.
      But, most importantly, it will depend on the nationality of your passport and what VISA's you have.
      Hope this helps?

    Is there any instances of pirate attacks on cruise ships that you know of? I am sure it is very rare these days but it happens to cargo ships sometimes so I imagine it could happen to a cruise ship. What security measures are in place to prevent pirate attacks?

    • @kondeeeeeee1303
      @kondeeeeeee1303 Год назад +1

      maybe in the past but not anymore this ships are build to sustain this attacks and even if it happened the ship gprs is tracked by us coast guard and all the places they visit so can you imagine being attack and for example you are expected to arrive in Cozumel and people who make their money from ships coming losing this affects them

    • @alexanderlapp5048
      @alexanderlapp5048 Год назад

      @@kondeeeeeee1303,
      I imagine they would be perfectly safe off the coast of the United States where the coast guard patrols the waters. What about Ocean crossing voyages? I'm sure the US navy and the UK navy would put a stop to the attack if in the area, but they can't be everywhere at once.
      Is there weapons available to the security officers for such situations when and if they arise? Maybe procedures to lock all the corridors to keep the passengers safe from such threats?
