Thank you for this great video. As an educator, so many of our high school students do not realize how many venues there are for super talented, hard working, and dedicated performers to find fulfilling careers! I’m sharing this with other performing arts teachers to help them infuse career options throughout the arts in a variety of ways. An idea for another video…talk about the Education, training nd preparation you and your fellow performers have to be able to do what you do. That would be very cool to hear! Awesome video ❤❤ when I was in my teens it was my dream to be a performer, I used to dance, sing and act. I wanted to go into the performing arts field. Mainly doing live theatre :) but I never followed through with it because my father told me I'd never make it and that all I would be is a maccas chick. It stopped me from perusing a career I loved and was good at. Im now 53 years old and I live to regret that. I would so love to do what you are doing ❤❤

You can still find auditions on the cruise line websites but you don’t do rehearsals in Miami! I think you go straight to the ship!
Do you know of anyone who has been hired without a lot of professional experince and or a college degree in performing arts? I danced/did theatre my whole life, went a different route for school and am now considering auditioning as a dancer on a cruise! Would appreciate any insight you can share!

Could you please comment on the guest speakers cruise ships use? I understand that some are hired by speaker bureaus while others are hired directly by the cruise line. What types of relationships/interactions does the performers have with the speakers? I have been told the speakers stay in guest cabins and eat in the guest restaurants on board, but also have muster duties? Is this true? Do guest speakers ever stay in crew cabins? Do they have access to crew areas such as I-95? TIA for any perspective you can provide!!
I’m honestly not sure. We don’t have any speakers on this ship but in the past yes I think they have guest privileges but I’m not sure if they stay in crew or guest cabins!

We actually don’t do them at Royal. That was an NCL thing so I’m not sure if they’re still doing them!

but how do you do it more than 6 months, I heard that the contract its only for 6 months (?) or it is just Disney Cruise Line that has that rule?
The maritime rule is you can’t be on for more than a year I believe. So that must just be Disney! I’ve done 6,9 and 11 month contracts!

I’d say pretty good. The hard part is when they are from a different country and you separate after the contract!
