When Usnavi went off-tempo I would've gotten eternally distracted. Props to you for being able to focus so well for two entire hours. EDIT: Multiple times a week no less.
I've been watching these again and I've never noticed how much nuance is really needed for playing congas. It looks easy but the hand movements are so specific and precise
Fantastic, Joe! All of the cues have to be spot on and perfectly-timed -- I'd never be able to do what you are capable of doing! I'm also a pianist/organist, but wish I were a percussionist after watching your video. Thanks for this great behind-the-scenes look at what makes "In the Heights" such an amazing work of art!
I have added links to all of the mallets and instruments used in the video to the description.

I've been waiting for something like this. Seeing videos like these helped me with playing percussion in the ensembles I'm in.
Awesome I’m glad it helped.
Those conga parts are so clean 😌
I need more videos like this in my life.
So cool. Please keep posting pov vids like this
I'm working on some right now. Stay tuned
