North Korea's invasion of South Korea (1950) is specifically mentioned in the History Guide. Vietnam is not. Not sure why, and I'm not 100% sure if it would count, so I'd steer clear. Remember, though that any question like this would have a regional component, so you could do Korea AND Cuban Missile, for example.
If you're asked about two civil wars from two regions, that would be appropriate-unfortunately, I don't teach either, so, whether of not they're "good" options, I can't say. As a reader-it really doesn't matter as long as you make effective links between the two.
