I would ADORE a galarian form of Aromitisse as a dark type where it really becomes a plague doctor. It would also go well with galar because of it being based on England.

Yeah, but I don't think it would be dark but maybe psychic or poison. Poison because the masks and cloak protected the doctors from infected since the bubonic plague infact via fleas. Dark fits better if Aromitisse are the one causing it.
Oh yeah ofc, a poison type would be ideal for a plague doctor type pokemon, I guess it would have to keep the fairy type tho since most regional variants normally keep one type from the original pokemon.

instead we got a dark fairy imp... well, i hope aromatisse gets the love it needs in the spain inspired region, though in this region i think it would lean more on the flamenco aspect rather than the plague doctor so... i hope some other region in the future can give us the plague doctor we want...
That redesign for Aromatise looks like a fairy-type counterpart to Honchcrow.

I like how instead of changing your two least favorite pokemon into something entirely different, you just made it's origins clearer and made them look more natural instead of making Aromatisse a grim plague doctor or making Simipour a gorilla or something.
This is a direct answer to the problem i have with other people who redesign things, this guy respected the source. and i love it, not saying that the other artist are bad, but people like subjectively who just throw out the reason why a pokemon looks the way it looks kinda starts irking me after a while granted i love a few things they do.

I'm surprised no-one used this concept for Aromatisse: There was a plague in a French town where people danced until they died.

1:19 - 2:25 After starring eye-to-eye at Simipour for an entire minute, I must ask:
Does it see no evil because it's eyes are always shut, like Brock's, or because it's pupils are white and therefore blind as a Zubat?

Considering the other monkeys have eyelids that match their highlights, I’d say Simipour is just blind, and can therefore never see evil
the answer is yes

In defense of Sunflora, it's a Johto Pokemon, from the days when they were still kind of figure things out.
The screwed up alot with johto tbh. Left out alot of interesting pokemon and changes some pokemon for the worse. Like the Hoppip line (maybe they couldnt have something as cute as pikachu and pichu)

My only problem with Sunflora is the face.. maybe he should make it brighter and a bit more saturated?

Aromatisse’s “hat” reminds me of jotaro joestar and the whole “where does his hat end and his hair begin?” Conundrum.

I absolutely love that Klinklang redesign!!! It’s extremely endearing.
I like your Aromatisse too, but honestly, I think the original Aromatisse is not as bad a design as people say. Its origins are pretty clear in its design and I mostly see people complain about how its supposed to be a “sexy” can-can dancer. It’s not one of my favorites for sure but it really does get unfairly judged
I'm not a huge fan of the original design (and now that I've noticed it has humanoid like arms, I like it less), but honestly that's probably because Spritzee is all cute and I thought it'd be tall and pink like the bird it's based on. So expectations are to blame :P
I fully agree. I love the regular Aromatisse. It's absolutely beyond me why people act like it's the ugliest pokemon ever. It isn't. It's awesome. His redesign looks good, but not better than the regular Aromatisse imo.
I think it's mostly because most people are angry that they wasted a plague doctor pokemon on it.

The Slurpuff redraw was adorable! If that was the official design, I would like that pokemon much more. I'd love to see more of these as well as a completed monkey trio.

An excellent, intelligently creative and original addition to your Pokémon Art series, Ron!
I particularly enjoyed the redesigns of Slurpuff and Aromatisse were executed with awareness and sensitivity to their inspirations. This increased their believability without cancelling out the characteristics possessed by the original designs.
In comparison, the original designs neglected this by oversimplification and attempting to cram too much features into too small a space. A sequel featuring a redesign of Simisage and Simipour would be wonderful.
I cannot wait to see what you come up with next! Maybe even a spin-off where you design evolutions or pre-evolutions for existing Pokémon? This is just a suggestion, though. Keep them coming, Ron!
I personally love the original design of Slurpuff but it’s redesign is a bit nicer

I personally liked the aromatisse redesign, but thought it looked more like aromatisse’s evolution
I mean, its like The simis. The pre evolution is the baby, and the evolution is the adult.

I really like the design but I think the final art looked very flat, it lacked shading and highlights on the body/torso, it looked better before he colored and shaded it. I don't think it looked like Aromatisse's evolution though.
I think it would actually make for a good branched evolution for Spritzee.

@Zain Salmon except no, Charizard isn't just a bigger Charmeleon, it's a continuation and further expansion of the fiery lizard concept as it evolves from an aggressive adolescent to a full-fledged dragon. By your logic, every starter is "lazy."

Tbf, i think the "untalented" artists are the concept artists. The artists just drew what they were told to draw.
Also i agree with "be cute or cool". Fans dont accept weird pokemon. Like garbodor! His concept is trash that started living, but people see it as "uGlY" like cmon its supposed to be ugly

In my opinion, I like the simis, the cartoonishness is cute to me. Simipour reminds me of my old friend in a way, maybe it's the facial expression or hair? But your design is good too.
I love how you made Aromatisse! She still looks like a flamingo and flamenco dancer, but has better proportions and also brings to mind a plague doctor.

You said it’d be Grass/Fairy if you had your way, like a mischievous nature fairy, but I think it’s design fits more Fire than Fairy. It can still be mischievous, but I can’t really think of a better opportunity for a Grass/Fire-type than a literal Sun Flower. It’s a living pun.

Your Aromatisse and Slurpuff look so much better than the originals! I would definitely consider using them if that's what they looked like
I love the Simipour redesign, maybe they went more cartoony to avoid another Jynx fiasco? Sunflora suffers from that too, ignoring the iconic brown centre of a sunflower makes me think they were still cautious about skin colours and possibly offending in the same way. I think you did the theme justice but didn't stray into problematic territory. Slurpuff as more of a dog is so cute! As for Aromatisse, I think it has the same problem as Simipour, in my opinion it seems to be based more closely on can-can girls (poofy skirt, dancing, masquerade elements, feather headpiece, less emphasis on arm/hands in design), plague doctors and Charles Le Brun's physiognomic heads, especially the parrot one. I think it too suffers from a concept made childish, the can-can is obviously a bawdy dance and that inspiration was probably softened to the point where it just becomes an overgrown bird furby. I'd really look forward to another one of these!

Not really? Flowey is literally just a sunflower with a face like the original Sunflora design, but Ron's new design actually adds the 'sunshine' element and a dress, plus Flowey can't walk. So it's quite unique than both Flowey and classic Sunflora in the end.

I love the Simipour redesign no complaints there.
Klinklang's redesign looks awkward and I feel it strays far from its original concept (looking at it again it kinda looks like something you would find in a Pokéstar movie). I like the normal design a lot more for being adorable and fitting it's original concept better.
Sunflora redesign is amazing no complaints.
Slurpuff redesign is also great, just a simple change like making it stand up makes it (pardon the pun) stand out a lot more. Although I like Slurpuff original design, this is a lot better.
Aromatisse redesign is also amazing and should have been the original design.

I more or less agree with you except for simipour, for one reason. THE EYES, they look unnatural and nothing to equating to the eyes of a monkey. And there would only be one edit, make the streched out part look like mascera and not like the rest of the eye. Other than the eyes, redesigned simipour looks great
I love the Sunflora redesign! Probably my favorite, it's so simple, but has lots of personality, a really cool and interesting concept and looks great
I feel like Spritzee is the cute first stage Pokémon, Aromatise is the awkward middle stage, and the redesign of Aromatise would be the awesome final form. Great Work.
This was absolutely interesting to watch and the design changes were justified not just put there in a ‘because I can’ kind of fashion. I’ve seen a few redesigning Pokémon videos and I definitely enjoyed this one the most!
I feel like sticking to the weird dress thing for simipour wasnt a good idea. I feel as if a coat would look better. The rest looks really good.

while i like your redesign, aromatisse is one of my favorite pokemon, particularly it's design. i know part of the hate for it in general in the pokemon fandom is they wanted a more plague doctor pokemon, but i also feel like part of why people don't like it, as you said, is that it "looks like it's supposed to be seductive but looks super awkward and kinda ugly" which like. ok. but what i see when i look at aromatisse, especially when keeping in mind human women (an obvs inspiration) is like. a large, hooked nose, chubbiness/curviness/a full/fat figure (however you wanna say it), it's short rather than sleek and tall, and feathers that look more like fuzz and body hair that regular feathers. it's not like the "sexy waifu" pokemon, it's not a skinny waif with no discernible body hair like gardevoir or still petite but hourglass curves and fur that looks like a hair-do and clothing items like lopunny. and i just. i feel like it's really telling when a non-human creature that depicts characteristics that human women have that /aren't/ an idealized white, western european view of what makes sexy femininity, it's "ugly and awkward". and like, this isn't an attack on you or anyone else bcs like i get it, it's bit of a stretch to say "you don't like this pokemon, you're racist and fatphobic", and that's not what i'm saying. just. that racism and fatphobia are so ingrained into our society, that we're taught that non-white features or largers bodies can't be sexy, and any attempt to make them sexy are awkward or uncomfortable. that's just. kinda frustrating to see, especially when it's not even intentionally malicious in anyway, whatsoever. anyways yeah. i do still like the redesign! though like others, to me, it looks more like an evolution to aromatisse than a redesign.

Aromatisse is just goofy. It's fur looks like a loaded diaper.
But fat just isnt sexy, healthy or useful. Dont know why there are so many fat people

-Typhlosion, needs more volcanic feature and badger look
-Regigas, needs to look more ancient and less alien-y
-Lumineon, it's fish
-Octillery, needs to have that Tank theme back and more prominent
-Silvally, make the chimera-ic features of it much more cohesive
-Alolan Exeggutor, needs more draconic features
-Mr. Mime, make it resemble like a clown or a mime (Mime Jr.) instead of Jeff the Killer™

Usually i don't tend to like redesigns by any channel, but i think this was incredible. you gave reasoning, and still manged to keep the style and look of the original pokemon. i would have loved these on my team!

i can sort of get why Jynx got so much hate for looking like a "black face" but sunflowers literally do have a dark brown center. it would be unreasonable to call it racist, it's just sunflower biology

This is still better than Subjectively's series on, "fixing" pokemon from each generation. Where they ignore inspiration, theme, and just make almost all of the pokemon they "fix" worse. Overall a good video. Keep up the good work Ron!

I've noticed that many of my favorite RUclipsrs (Truegreen7, MandJTV, etc.) got introduced into Pokemon during Generation 3 and most got Pokemon Ruby, not Pokemon Sapphire!
