- Learn how to repair broken references in your assembly and drawing files in SOLIDWORKS. This might happen if you have renamed or moved the referenced files.
QuickTips video presented by Robert Murdock of GoEngineer (www.goengineer.com).
You made that easy. (well sort of) I did have to pay attention. As a new Solidworks user, I have finally created a part library, after I made my first 50 parts. I moved a lot of parts into the newly created parts folder and broke every assembly. After watching your tutorial, I was able to easily repair all the assemblies.
Thanks
Scott
I am filled with relief.
Robert, you are a fucking legend. Thanks mate.

Bro thank you so much bro. I have worked for hours on this draft and I forget to save with reference while renaming. When all the section views and break views disappeared and I freaked out. Now I retrieved every possible dimension so I don't have to work again.
Muito obrigado!!!

Hi Robert, is there a way to repair broken references for Part files based on Solid Bodies? I tried this technique, and it seemed to work up until I saved. When I close everything and went back into the Part file, it still had a broken reference.
Hi Jane,
This process appears to be working for you. If you are finding that a save does not make them permanent that would indicate an issue with saving. This may be caused by having these files in Dropbox/OneDrive/Google Drive or stored on a network/server drive. You would want to take the files to the local drive in a non-cloud storage folder and test saving them there.
THANKX,...
IT'S STRONGLY irritating ME.
Can I ask you GoEngineer.......just waht is the point in an explossive load intro of music which is much loader than the narration. Its annoying? Why?
Hi David,
We have taken your own and other comments as feedback on this and you will notice our more recent videos have software intro music. Our older videos remain this way due to limited ability to edit their audio tracks except to entirely replace them with stock music.
