y’all it’s ethos. they are using examples to show that they know the audiences’ wants and needs and they give you the impression that they want to fulfill them. by showing that they know you and care about you, they’re trying to appear reliable to convince you to listen to them.
i love this commercial. i was in an accident last year, and allstate took care of everything, i just called them told them what happened, and that was it. Now everything is back to normal. Best insurance company.
I have a current claim open with Allstate for storm damage to my roof. Its been a horrible experience dealing with them to say the least. While my neighbors around me are getting brand new roofs I am arguing on phone with Allstate.
Its kinda sad that we only appreciate the small things in life when we have to....we should always do it. We are only hear once live, breathe, enjoy. Every day alive is a good day.
Truly remarkable. I'm not a very emotional person at all.. but this commercial got me all choked up. Just knowing there's all of those hard working people that are having an even harder time due to the recession.. it really struck a cord with me. Job well done!
Absolutely right. Am new to the RUclips thing and posting this was an experiment. I was one of three writers and two art directors. Not really sure where to put the credits. Ira absolutely did the music--thanks.
The analysis for your insurance's rate is base in different factors: your driving record, your vehicle, risks in your region, risks of your vehicle, in many states the credit score is a factor, the usage of your vehicle, how many drivers are in the same policy, where did you get the licence (this one applies to people with foreign licenses), state's laws, state's insurance regulations, the insurance company's guideline for different types of risks
If your reading this Janeena James (English teacher) I hope you know that I hate the fact you made me do this don’t call on my name no more for the remainder of the school year
We also need to remember that Insurance Company's ultimate goal is to make money. They are pro-profit corporations that provides you with a non-tangible product that is required by law for the common good of the society. As pro-profits corporations, they will do their best to offer you the best possible "service or rate", also taking in consideration their profits and risks. Thats why you may find a cheaper price in one company and later one a different company might be cheaper.
Look at it like this...if you have a $150,000 home that burns to the ground, your insurance company will pay the $150,000 to have your home rebuilt, plus an additional 70% ($105,000), plus an additional 20% (30,000) to pay for you to live someplace else while your home is being rebuilt. That is a total of $285,000. Do you think they'll ever get that money back from you? But they pay it anyway...and you're happy to have had the coverage
Don't let it be said that I am one to hold a grudge, but 35 years ago my wife had a fender bender during an ice storm. Allstate doubled our insurance rates. I don't deal with them any more...
thi great song being played in this commercial was a song specificaly created for this commercial and is not being let out for public....i noe i was sad when i found out too...
So, is not new that people gets "mad" with their insurance company for a price increase. If you have a price increase in your policy; before going Chuck Norris on your agent, think to your self: what in my life style have change to provoke a price increase, has the cost of life increased in my region, has the region that I lived in increased in risk due to a natural phenomena or man made stupidity. After reflecting in that, if you find that non of above applies to you, then call your agent.
Ummm, he's not really a commercial actor either. His name is Dennis Haysbert and he has been in numerous movies and TV shows. He is the lead for the show The Unit currently. Does anyone know the song that is playing or is that just a little jingle they made?
i have been with allstate for a number of years and they reward me with higher prem every year i called a number of other insurances and they are half the price when i asked why allstate was costing me more they said i never complaned before so thank you allstate for screwing me for so long now i find out they all do the same thing rip you off if you don't check on them we should all stop paying all together
Im hella late on this but, Yes, he is. He played the role of Zeke McCall, father of Quincy McCall (Omar Epps) in the movie "Love and Basketball". Also he looks, sounds or acts nothing like Cuba Gooding Jr.
Theres some ppl in this world that have a voice that moves you in some way, morgan freeman, Fran drescer, the lady on the 1800 number, and this guy. Way to go guy? From sam fishers confadone to a allstate spokeman bitch. You da man.
I guess all of us are here because of our English teacher.

it’s both
@@lillym9443 is that an option
it has to be ethos or logos because in our assignment, we have to choose those two and the other one is already picked.
So i guess its ethos
If you are having this degree of trouble with this you are seriously low IQ.
y’all it’s ethos. they are using examples to show that they know the audiences’ wants and needs and they give you the impression that they want to fulfill them. by showing that they know you and care about you, they’re trying to appear reliable to convince you to listen to them.

I cant believe God is the all state guy
It really is a great commercial. Simple and effective. It actually got me teary-eyed the first time I saw it (Sunday during 24)
Its kinda sad that we only appreciate the small things in life when we have to....we should always do it. We are only hear once live, breathe, enjoy. Every day alive is a good day.

My dad sounds like him when he first wakes up lol
He is in good hands because of Jack Bauer
YES
he says sometimes in commercials...
David P. : "Where's your wallet?"
then i say to myself..
Me: "I have no money!"
At the end, how Dennis (the actor) looks to the corner and says, "Put them in good hands." That part gets me every time!

We stan allstate black man in this house
The fact that the man talking now plays God in “Lucifer’ is ironic
I saw this TV commercial on my first trip to the U.S. in 2010 and see it again makes me feel like I was there.
If your reading this Janeena James (English teacher) I hope you know that I hate the fact you made me do this don’t call on my name no more for the remainder of the school year
I love the Mayhem commercials but I always thought this one was probably their best.
Thumbs up if you're proud to have Allstate as your insurance provider.
Oh my God that's God
Wouldn’t be a bad idea bring back this ad.
I really like how they don't really try to sell themselves in this ad.

Nice way of putting the current days and times...All this recession is to me is a reality check to put back in perspective what is really important
the fake Denzel
Meanwhile Aunt Jemimah, Uncle Ben and Count Chochula are all out of a job.

This was done by Jira productions in Chicago, IL. It's an original piece of music.
I did not know there were any SNL satire commercial with Dennis Haysbert. I'm studying voice talent. Thanks for the info.

"You a fake Denzel like the Allstate nigga."
Pablo Francisco brought me here.

Pedro Cerrano's english has certainly improved
I can't help but feel this is a Psy-Ops cover operation for The Unit.
awesome commercial!
No one noticed this , but he was in The Social Network.
"Protect them. Put them in.......'Good Hands'. As long as you don't live in Florida."
He didn't say THAT'S ALLSTATE'S STAND! I want him to say it!!

It's original music created just for the commercial by Jira Productions in Chicago.
Professional service and non-threatening black spokesperson. That's Allstate's stand, are you in good hands?
I watched this to see David. Great one , man !!
Wow, that was buetiful, we do have to apreatiate the little things we have.
man.......I wonder how many new Allstate customers were acquired after the airing of this commercial, lol. Especially African Americans
it’s pathos
The Allstate marketing team should have Jobu make an appearance.
Oh! I thought it was that's allstates standards. hahaha :p Thanks for clearing that up for me. ;)
This is great to play over Skype to trick people into thinking they have a pop up ;)

original music written for Allstate
