- i have loved this song since i was a child, and, when i heard it in ofmd, i got so excited (i screamed). i just Knew that i'd have to make a video for it. i hope that i've done these dumdums and one of my favorite songs justice.
if y'all know anything about rumours or fleetwood mac, you'll know that the chain was written amidst numerous break ups and affairs and just tons of upheaval, but it's the only few fleetwood mac song to be credited to all band members because every one of them had a part in creating it. in that way, it's ultimately about coming back together to work on something greater than yourself and to make something really special together. "if you don't love me now, you'll never love me again" fits with both how they actually feel, and how ed thinks stede feels after he abandons ship in 1x09. stede does love him now, and will love him again. i also wanted to explore all their parallels, how similar they are to each other, and how those similarities will keep them together.

Love this! Opening with the peasants marry for love \ relinquishing his wealth was genius. All the other parallels in this compilation are so GOOD!
This is one of the best fan edits I've ever seen, of any show. You caught exquisite story parallels, & used the music perfectly to highlight, add depth, & illustrate the heartbreak & hope of this beautiful, wild, show.

yesss it's spooky! one of the really great things about making these is that i get to see frame by frame all of his fantastic acting choices. like that scene where izzy and stede are dueling, and he's hugging the ropes? *chef's kiss*

First off the opening is amazing. Well the whole thing is but the opening with everything on beat is just neat. Also looking fine but coming out "mentally devastated" is an apt description for the show as a whole. First you're like 'haha funny gay pirate show' and then you're gross sobbing

Mentally devastated line from pilot actually holding weight in season finale because that what happens to Ed ugh and the song it self being a prediction in way what going happen in next two episodes I can’t with the writing of this show!!!!!!
there is so much foreshadowing, and i'm FERAL about it. and the parallels between ed/stede and jim/olu are always amazing
Since finding this show and its incredible fandom, I've been burning through every edit I can find. Yours is now my favourite. This is fantastic! Like others have said, I really enjoy the editing with this song which is my new favorite song. But I especially love that you put together the 2 times Ed days "you" and highlight how emotional and raw that was!

I love the comparison you have of Ed & the image his reputation has to their meeting, highlighting Stede’s gradual admiration to affection turning to love.
Then you show their growth between being a canon couple & resembling each other, & their growth as characters- in parallel scenes which I loved how the show aesthetically compared through similar scenes

Thank you. This is brilliant. I have so enjoyed this show and hope they will do a second season. If (when) they do, they should use "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac. Christine McVie sings that one. I see it being used when Ed and Stede finally get back together.
