I am still a bit confused about the timeline. So far we've seen a lot of the first evening/night, then suddenly it's the 3rd day and Keith/Danny is dead. What happened in the time leading up to his death? Also, the last person on the video outside his room (before the footage is deleted), was a woman with a big hat who saw Imogene walking down the hall. But there is no effort by anyone to question her. Was it Leila? She told Anna she had gone out walking.
Because this show is supposedly all about the details, I am crossing my fingers that the production/props team know what they are doing and some of the detail inconsistencies are there for a reason. Are we the "eye witnesses" that are unreliable?!

Will happily break down the time line on the next episode cause I started paying attention to that on my rewatch this weekend cause they are only suppose to be on this boat for 10 days and were like halfway there
Yea I noticed that woman too with the big hat
Yea I’m hoping the details point to solving the case more than just what the camera shows is about certain characters

Anyone else think Katherine Collier may have killed Imogene's mother? Possibly because she was having an affair with Mr. Collier and he is potentially Imogene's father. Unless they mentioned who her father was at some point and I'm just just not remembering it.
Either way, great video, glad to see people are enjoying it.

Katherine being behind it all has been an ongoing theory of mine over the last few weeks and Mr collier being Imogene’s dad. I do have a new theory tho about Viktor Sam’s I’ll be discussing in the latest episode.
Thank you glad you’re enjoying them I’m glad to be starting the year with a fresh murder mystery

The whole thing is a Matrix/VR/simulation/truman show situation. The sky doesn’t move. Leila’s obsession with spy electronics. The repeated refrain of “what’s going on here is much bigger than you can imagine”. All the weird glitches in details. The opening scene of the series,,,the real house that becomes a dollhouse while Coatsworth implores the viewer to pay attention to the details. The constant medicated/drunk state of all the main players. The weird VR commercial. It’s all wrong.

    • @NerdsAtNite

I mean Sunil did have those goggles on this last episode and was in VR experiencing the ship, he called to tighten things up in there, what if yea It was all for the simulation experience aspect not just to demo and try to sell people on why they should come to the ship. The ship VR is the experience 🤯🤯

@@NerdsAtNite rewatch the first 4 episode with this in mind. I didn’t think about it at all until we rewatched with my daughter and she’s like “what’s with the bad CGI…the clouds don’t move”. I was bothered by the VR scene but didn’t really think much of it…but on rewatch, there is so much stuff that points in the direction of something much more than just a murder mystery.
And then the actress playing Imogen was interviewed and she basically said, “the reveal in the last episode is going to blow everyone’s mind.” It could be like a version of a murder mystery game that people act out at home, but VR…I don’t think it will be that simple, but something super weird is going on.

We just had a show that did this. 1899 i think it was. Some year was the title and it all took place on a cruiseship and then we find out it's all a simulation and it actually takes place hundreds of years in the future on some spaceship. It was not picked up for a second season because it's a bit of a cop out. There was another one a few years ago. The island i think it was(I'm terrible with titles) didn't get a second season either.
People don't like it. It's like everything we just spend the last x amount of hours watching wasn't even real is not a good feeling. It might be true but it's a terrible idea.

@@basquat76 I don’t disagree…but what if they integrate the murder(s) at the center of this show into the mystery…like this is all part of Cotesworth’s 20-year long game to solve Imogene’s mom’s murder?

  • @rickmarshall345

I'm still going with the idea that Rufus, the detective, is the killer.
As far as I can tell, we still have not seen the footage that he cut out of the security feed, and I think that is significant. I think he cut the footage out because it shows him entering and leaving the room. What other reason can there be for them not to show us the footage? As to why he did it, I stick with my theory that he has never really been a great detective and that his assistant, Danny, did all the work and deducting for him. I think Danny got tired of this and threatened to go public with the information that it was actually he who solved all of Rufus' cases and perhaps even wrote his book.
The show has referred to Rufus as a washed-up detective, but what if he was never great to begin with? May explain why he couldn't solve the murder of Imogene's mom. There's also the fact that Danny's journal was stolen. Why? I think it is because Danny revealed in the journal that Rufus is a fake and he (Danny) is the genuine detective. Still not sure how the murder of Imogene's mother fits in with all this or who that killer was - perhaps Rufus will eventually solve this and get some redemption. But I think Imogene will figure out that Rufus killed Danny and she will reveal this at the very end of the series.
Keep in mind that this is being compared to classic Agatha Christie mysteries like Death on the Nile or Evil Under the Sun. But Christie wrote at least three very well know mysteries (and probably some lesser known ones as well) where the detective investigating the case turns out to the murderer, so this will fit right in with that.
    We shall see...

Yea he’s def gone up on my list of no way to me side eyeing him and wondering more about him. In that case it Makes total sense why he erased the footage, it was for his own gain not Imogene’s. Winnie could be reciting a story she was told to say in that case, yea in Agatha Christie’s … it’s the detective so if she’s not above doing it then these folks aren’t either. I feel like I should rewatch it this weekend with that thought in mind. Def reading this on the next show cause this is super solid to consider

@@NerdsAtNite Not only the story you cited but (spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't read stories that are more than 50 years old) Christie also had the detective be the killer in Hercule Poirot's Christmas (aka Murder for Christmas and A Holiday for Murder) and in what is perhaps the most famous example of this gimmick, Curtain, in which Poirot himself is both the detective and the killer! In fact, in probably the only example in all of mystery fiction, Poirot is the detective, the killer and also the victim in what turned out to be his final case.

Oh one more thing. The Interpol agent. I don't buy her for a second as a real agent. Take it from a fellow Scandinavian but her Swedish accent is terrible. Whether it's suppose to be or the actress who just adds the Swedish accent on too heavily i don't know. But she is definitely a suspect too. And she looks a lot like Imogenes Mom. I don't know if you have discussed this but i almost think it's the same actress.

If this is some Keyser Soze thing it has to be someone at a certain age and the least suspicious person, which would be the Captain. I think the Captain is Victor Sams and our killer.
Besides if they're gonna do several season our leading lady can't fall in love which is what seems to be happening. It makes much more sense if her flirt turns out to be the villain.

I believe Winnie DID commit the murder of Danny/Keith. And for the reason she stated: that Keith was a dick, and treated her/everyone like dirt. There's a very strong "upstairs/downstairs" subtext on the show; including Imogene, who resents being the poor girl living the good life because of the "kindness" of the Colliers. Remember: she steals money from them.
Killing Danny/Keith had nothing to do with the Main Mystery of this show, which is Who Killed Imogene's Mother.
Solving this Main Mystery is just beginning (with episode 5), as Leila has come forward to confide in Rufus. The mysteries to be resolved are: Who is "Victor Sams," the car accident/attempt on Leila's life, and if the Chun Family's current business dealings are rooted in past problems the Colliers have experienced.
Other important plot-points are: WHO is Imogene's father? Lawrence? Also, are Katherine & Father Toby planning to sabotage Lawrence in some way--or, is Lawrence terminally ill, and they're just waiting for him to die, so they can be together? Did Danny/Keith and Leila form a brief "partnership" just before he was killed by Winnie? Lastly, is Leila NOT the crazy person she appears to be--but is simply trying to protect herself & Anna from danger.
Those are my thoughts--with solving the murder of Imogene's mother at the top of the list.
Oh, and I don't buy into the online theory that Imogene's mother is NOT dead--and is, in fact, the Interpol Agent, Hilde. While they DO look remarkably alike, it doesn't make sense that the mother would abandon Imogene.

Ohhh this is all nice I’m def reading this on the next episode, there’s a lot to digest here and a lot to think about heading into the episode next week. Yea I started thinking after this last episode if Leila found out something, and her accident wasn’t an accident she reached out to Danny that beef is fake, what the Chuns have been doing all along that we don’t know about yet, I mentioned last week love the Lawerence being Imogene’s dad theory and yea I saw this week the whole agent Hilde being Imogene’s mom and idk it doesn’t sit right with me.
