What a band of geniuses. Saw them at Sydney’s town-hall in 63/64. Same fantastic line-up but can’t remember which bassist. - They bought the house down - ! At times, during different solo’s mr Monk used to walk around or even left the stage. But his is a marvellous album bringing back great memories. Sadly we don’t make/play this stuff anymore so do enjoy the ultimate jazz-treat folks & Cheers!
@@アスパラトマト-p6u Hello again. I made a screen-shot from your reply and will get a Japanese friend (living in Tokyo) to translate it for me. In the meantime keep those replies coming. Wishing you the very best with the Covid problem that seems to engulf the Tokyo games, and i find the risk to proceed to high. Cheers!
It's an absolutely great album🌟🌟🌟 Ronald you are right it's sad and for me it's extra sad , that the good friend of Thelonious Monk - Bud Powell is uploaded very seldom . The compositions and his own styl of playing are exceptionally beautiful, sophisticated & intelligent & i love his eccentric personality . When i listen to his music my blood flows warmer through my veins . Part of the recordings , i saw was in the Alhambra , - the Alhambra Théâtre is a top address in Paris , a great music hall & trés chic . Dig it and cheers !
Yes Jacqueline you’re spot on re: Bud and Monk. We can be very grateful that we still have their records, their ultimate legacy to us. But - “times are a changing” - as Dillon sings. And Jazz has a very tiny following around the world. If i’m correct it is about 3-4% whilst classical music has about 12-13%. I am very grateful that RUclips has given the world the opportunity to access all those marvellous Jazz albums, by all those dedicated up loaders. Be well & Cheers!
Thank you for uploading.

Wonderful album
Breathtaking morning 💿🎹
Finally, a recording where Monk's levels are appropriately up - I feel more of a guiding stars lustre!
