@ItsCozyBoy I don't think, based on the evidence, that they know how to do non combat stuff. The only missions that immediately come to mind are basic box runs between armistice zones, assuming some "wannabe pirate" doesn't interfere and a couple of investigation ones. Blockade Runner, having specified that players can take the opposing side, risks being pointless. Taking the opposing side should have long duration consequences, but it won't. Someone in CIG is making these calls and also.not getting consequences :-)
@@andrewfanner2245 I wanna see them do a trading event. Open the convention centers. Give players little booths they can buy and load up with gear and other players can come up, access their terminal and buy whatever they’re selling. I’m full of ideas!
@andrewfanner2245 it's not that they don't know how. It's more so that they think every single thing they do in the verse has to have a sprinkle of PvP added... And just like the old Powerpuff Girl intro, they end up breaking the whole damn jar over the mix and shrugging it off as "immersive"..... They're literally doing the same thing with personal hangars.... Could just prevent other players from running in but no, we're gonna add a long ass 30 second countdown, up from 8 seconds, and to top it off, we're gonna drop the armastice zone so players can rush your hangar via desync and shoot you in the back of the head as you step off your elevator...Nevermind the possibility of griefing that will come from players chasing other players from elevator to elevator until they either take it to the hangar or just log off.... If they don't make some changes, it's going to be an absolute sh*t show.

I know of folk who.have pledged well.north.of £5K willing to write that off if it turns into a kid's PvP fest due to careless, negligent of PvP forcing design. o7, cargo elevators would have been great yesterday. Took my vulture out scraping some panels. Made 5 runs total could have made 10. The running back and forth to sell, then unload the buffer, run and sell again. Could've just thrown them on the cargo ele and took back off. Not to mention getting no demand and having to wait for the server to tick. 3.24 will eliminate all the crap.

My entire org aside from the evocati members is playing dcs world right now while we wait for cig to figure all this new stuff out. F18 and Apache seem to be the most popular. MM was very unpopular with my group. We are more flight focused than the mmo part though. Cheers!
Servers are pure jank. What bothers me more is how bad the Distribution Centers are. Sure some of that is servers, but some of it is also the limits of the game engine showing.

Calling it "Blockade Event" is most probably more true to the nature of the actual gameplay as per description by the devs. Nah, just kidding - it should rather be called something on the lines of "contraband retrieval and return"... - simply because there is no blockade running but instead contraband having to get - well - retrieved and returned.

But gone even further.... not been playing SC for over a month now, since the servers have totally gone into F mode, because they have not been reset/rebooted for a long time! And to be honest, since CIG dropped 3.20, I think that the game has taken a bad turn or a downwards trajectory. And all the time sinks on top of time sinks, and new bugs on top of Years old bugs, I feel CIG do nothing to solve!!! Elevators, falling threw planets, ships blowing up without reason etc. Well Now with the 3.24 yet more time sinks, mainly with the Item banks that totally suck! I have just given up and lost the will of playing the tech demo, and I know allot of people that have given up playing...and many of them, have been playing since launch. I follow some people that are honest about the game and the outcome and will be following them and of course you to see how everything is shaping out, but right now I see the tech demo as not the game i signed up for and thought CIG was developing!!! Hate to use the word, and would never imagine me use it, as I have always been a hardcore entusiast and fan of SC, but right now it looks more like a scam!!! Lotsa eye candy but no fun......And just allot of cinematic vids created by CIG marketing! But for 18 dollars, last month I bought NMS on a weekend sale, and I must say I am impressed of the game play they have created!!!! So enjoyable to play and fun!!! I'll try blockade runner, it ought to be excellent but I share your views. There are some folk convinced the game can only be played their way, all the time, everywhere. They complain when someone points out that a C30th space ship is less secure than a C20th car.
CIG are hellbound liars. SC started out with promise but now it’s a cash grab. The new features would be cool if the game worked but gameplay gets worse with each update. IF there is ever an official launch in my lifetime, it will be a shell of what was promised.
Recently I’ve been using the EU servers. For some reason no matter what time of day the NA servers are just cooked. Still takes a re log or two to find something that has doors that respond semi quick.

Despite having the best AMD GPU/CPU money can buy, I'm experiencing significant stuttering, long delays, and unresponsive menus in Star Citizen + many more issues.* *The graphics aren't anything we haven't already seen, one example of comparable graphic quality/fidelity is Elite: Dangerous, the game has been out for 10 years, far more optimized and polished and they've only received $2.6m in crowd funding, the total cost of development has been $10m.* *Starcitizen raised OVER $700 MILLION in crowd funding! Have over 12 YEARS of so called 'active development' put into Star Citizen, It's unacceptable that the game is in an alpha state, oh, just to top it all off - NO SET RELEASE DATE. sadly for me MM made the game to noobish or uncool to fly, the flight have been nerfing the FM for years, its only gotten worse and MM was the crown of there failure, i came for the best space sim ever made, and it pretty much have the worst flight model ever made now..
The best space sim ever made would not be loaded to the gills with ships armed largely (or entirely) with fixed forward firing weapons. That has always been a sop to people wanting to play WWII in space - IOW Chris Roberts. If space craft are going to engage each other with guns they will use turrets. Why take the time and energy to turn an entire craft when there are mechanisms that will do it quicker, and with better accuracy?
@@ThomasD66 there are turrets though. Just not for solo ships, since you can't look out the back of your ship whilst flying. These turrets would have to be automated otherwise. And if you start having turrets firing automatically, why not also just let the ship fly automatically? We have self driving cars now. Surely 900 years in the future our spacecraft can do the same. However, if you automate every part of your ship, you won't have a game to play anymore and instead it's simply like watching a movie. So that's why the only turrets in the game should be ones that are operated by players. And since the pilot can't aim and fire out the back of his ship whilst flying, his guns are fixed. But who cares? Master Modes ruined the game anyways

Some of my SC orgs have just completely disbanded as people have moved on to other things IRL, other games, or something that actually has “Substance” instead of smoke and mirrors. I’m over $10k into my SC fleet ship line-up and been here since 2014. Absolutely BS in what they are doing to their customers. You aren’t the only one who doesn’t know what’s coming in the next patch, CIG doesn’t either. Save your time IRL and go hang with friends more, come back and schedule time with your friends to log into SC and do your own thing together for good memories, then get offline. No more CIG/SC fanboy taking up too many hours in our days and weeks, away from family/friends/coworkers (some whom could assist you in MAKING more money, instead of spending it in this game). Your tone in the direct comments shows a deeper struggle for something within yourself on this topic. Me and my friends decided to retain our money from now on for anything RSI/CIG. Our time in our weeks, spent with friends and family over the computer screen and this bait and switch move year after year. If you enjoy the game and got a solid group, enjoy it man. But we’ll be sitting this out a bit.
It’s gotta be tough having waited that long. It feels fine from a new player perspective. Hopefully you enjoy coming back to it in a few years when they’re closer. Maybe try treating it as a theme park.

Greenhorns listen to the shills. Shills get the eyeballs because they get free footage from CIG and free ships for CIG to do giveaways. Would not be surprised if they are also getting 'suggested' copy and content from CIG (but also suspect shills must sign NDAs to get it.) It takes a while for greenhorns to learn the game that is being played by CIG and their contents creators.
