      You gotta remember he was accepting an award that was broadcasted to millions of homes live. I doubt he would have said something insulting or negative towards PTA. I don’t think he accepted it at that point as there were some interviews a few years later where he still wasn’t happy with the film or being in it. But if he’s up for an award and wins for that film then he won’t turn that award down.

    Burt actually fired his agent after he did Boogie Nights. It was the agent's idea to do the film and Burt disliked it _that_ much. He actually turned down the role seven times before finally taking it. I always feel bad for that agent because he saw something that Burt couldn't and it only benefited Burt. I hope the agent went on to a good career with other actors.

      @@rohanmiscrits Burt came from a different time. I mean like, when films meant something else entirely and were made in a whole different way. He was admist that transition into what we know now as cinema currently. Burt couldn't adapt that well at the time, so I understand his initial frustration but, practically, he was just a victim of circumstance, in a way. An actor from a different era of movie making, that's all. I'm glad he came to appreciate it later on in his life, though. And yes, it sucks for his then agent. But, if he was good enough to see the potential in someone like, PTA and his vision then, I'm sure he was okay later.

    • @MichaelGiordano777
      @MichaelGiordano777 2 года назад

      Yup he had the conversation with Markey Mark too on the set of Boogie Nights. Mark thought Burt was joking around and laughed growing up a kid from the Southside of Boston with many Irish people. Problem was Burt wasn't joking around. He really thought it would make his character more interesting in the movie. Nobody agreed with Burt that worked on that Movie. Burt had a very sad ending at the end of the day if you know his story. IMO

  • @johnmiller5679

    It was a great film and even Reynolds has said he liked the film but his problem was with Anderson. Maybe their issues made the film a better film because lets face it when I director like lets say Hal Nedum just let Burt be Burt is was cornball and not really serious. On the other hand when I director like John Boreman or Anderson may have pushed Reynolds he gives Oscar nominated performances.
