As a Gentile Christian I I don't think I can properly understand the Tanakh and the Gospels without acknowledging the heritage and culture of the Jewish people.
When I learn why and where specific words are used in the Hebrew and the Greek it adds a layer of understanding and revelation to Gods word that wouldn't happen otherwise. The Jewishness of Jesus and the disciples is very profound and significant, and shows the faithfulness of God in keeping His Word.
Bless you all in Yeshua's Holy Name. Shalom

      Romans 2:28-29
28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

@@Nazarene_Judaism I believe the term was actually initially derogatory, applied to followers of Yeshua, both Jew and Gentile, and simply means 'little Christ'. You may be referring to the 'Church of Rome' as an Imperial Religion that Constantine decided would replace the older Roman Pantheon and polytheistic practices.

Shalom Rabbi! I am a follower of Yeshua from Istanbul. I lived my life with false beliefs, cults, etc. At least, I found Yeshua, called him with his name and he answered me. Reached me and accepted me. Well said Yesheyahu: Yalid yulad! Halleluyah for that day! Yeshua is the only one who is hearing and answering my prayers. Once upon a time, I was crying b'cos of unhappiness. Nowadays I cry b'cos of happiness. Hope to pay a visit to Israel someday and hope to feel the tracks of all prophets and Yeshua Hamashiach. May the peace of Yeshua be with you and all my human brethren always.

Well I think most of the issues Jews have is less to do with Jesus, and more to do with how they have been treated by gentiles over the last 2000 years. Also I view many ideas to be downright wrong. The idea of Eternal hell was not even a mainstream belief until the fifth century AD, with the belief being that the soul suffered to be purified-to find redemption. The idea of eternal hell is a later innovation and incompatible with the character of Christ.

@tropophyte Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Colossians 2:16-17
We are now under the new covenant era, we have been set free from needing to keep these traditions, which the Jewish nation was commanded to follow because it was only a "shadow" / "type" / "foreshadowing" of the fulfillment the Messiah. Every tradition in the hebrew system was meant to only be a pointer to the fulfillment of Jesus throughout His life, death, and resurrection.

@@robertwilson3819This is your problem if you do not understand the trinity that is found in the Tanakh and in the word Elohim אלוהים itself, It literally means the gods, as evidenced by the syllable “ים ,” “plural.” Does this mean that the Jews worship several gods? Or one God, the Triune Persons? so read the interpretations of the Trinity.
We do not have a separate man whose name is Jesus, but rather an incarnate God whose name is Christ God, whom we worship in spirit within this human form and do not worship humans.
You sanctify the Torah for the words within the book, but do not sanctify the paper for its own sake.
If you have not understood the truth of Christ, so you are not obligated to believe in him as a misguided faction like the ancient heresies that ended in a lost, perished religion called Islam.
You did not know who Christ is.. Jesus is the same Yeshua , not the invention of another nation.
He is the declaration of the Tanakh as it is in the Gospel.

Seventh Day Adventists keep the Seventh Day Sabbath Holy from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday. We attend Sabbath school an hour before meeting in the main congregation for Sabbath Worship. We believe in God, Jesus Christ, the holy spirit. We read the holy bible (OT & NT). We follow the same dietary laws that God gave us in the OT. (It's really what God intended for the good of our bodies! The Designer would know!! ) We fellowship with family and others after church by sharing meals, nature walks, prayer, scripture bible studies...anything that gets us closer to God. It's an amazing feeling! I think today's world would benefit so much from this. More marriages, and families could be closer if we kept his Sabbath holy. It's basically unplugging from our cell phones, tv shows, sports, anything secular and focus on Him as OUR CREATOR!!! It's truly a blessing!
Almost seems logical that a Messianic Jew could or is a SDA, ya know? Or for that matter...vice-versa! We truly are family of God.

Over my younger adult years I often wondered if Jesus was Jewish how as Christians we are so far apart from the Judaism practices that Jesus followed in his 3 years ministry on earth. I just completed watching The Chosen series in Amazon and something awoke in me like never before. When I found Rabbi Jason’s video here I had no idea he was associated with the Chosen series, God led me here. God granted me discernment about the Christian religion and how it has been infiltrated by pagen practices and how the Romans through Catholicism formed it into what they wanted to control our behavior. I feel so deceived and cheated and the deception has occurred for my whole life. I feel God calling me to the truth and I am so great full that my blinders have been removed.

Why do orthodox rabbis seem to suggest messianic jews have forfeited their jewishness by following Yeshua yet they have no issues with jews who follow hinduism, islam, atheism. They separate the jewish roots from religions and beliefs except with Christianity, why is that

    • @laurieepstein453

Because jews that follow Hinduism, islam, and atheism don’t also call themselves Jewish nor do they try to convert other Jews to what they believe in while claiming that their form of worship still aligns with torah values. Messianic jews follow Christianity but still say that they are Jews. However the beliefs and practices of messianic Jews are not very Jewish at all. Specifically their practice of trying to convert other Jews to their beliefs is very frowned upon by almost all Jewish people. Conversion is a big no no in Judaism. There is nothing wrong with being Christian or even a Christian that is inspired by Jewish values. But then why claim to be just like any other Jew when it’s pretty clear that messianics are practicing their own separate religion.

@@laurieepstein453 it's simply this, Messianic Jews are those who believe and have accepted Jesus as the Messiah. If one goes to Isaiah 53, that description of the suffering servant was Jesus's crucifixion. Most of Judaism rejects Jesus for political reasons as he didn't liberate the Jewish people from the occupation of the Roman empire as is what the Jewish people wanted from their king.
The attempt at trying to covert others is simply trying to get the others to open their eyes. Accepting Jesus is actually one of the most Jewish things a jew can do. The other thing is that many jews are not practicing members of their faith but are simply ethnic members.

@@laurieepstein453 Original Nazarenes were Jews who believe Jesus as the Messiah and they are observant Jews. Jesus was a rabbi and in Gospels He taught His disciples about His interpretation of Torah like the Sermon on the mount. Messianic Judaism/Christianity is one of the sects of Judaism which survived from 1st century. Its Judaism that believes Jesus is the Messiah. Unbelieving Jews like you tend to confuse Gentile Christianity of the later centuries to the 1st century Jesus movement within Judaism. Messianic Judaism/Jesus movement is more ancient than all of modern day Judaism sects except for Rabbinic Judaism. Unbelieving Jews should stop claiming that they are the "only" Jews because most of modern day Judaism sects were just invented in 19th century as opposed to Messianic Judaism/Jesus movement which is there since the 1st century in the Land of Israel. Books of New Testament are more ancient than your Talmud, Mishnah etc. 1st century Essenes have more in common with Jesus Movement in the first century than any of modern day sects of Judaism even Rabbinical Judaism. 1st century Palestinian Judaism is far more diverse than you think. Jesus movement and Rabbinical Judaism are the only ancient remnant of Judaism from 1st century Israel. Most of modern day Judaism are just invention. Gospels are more ancient than Talmud. And no sects of Judaism follows the exact same Judaism of first century since the destruction of the Temple. Most modern day Jewish traditions have origin from where those Jews came from, Yemeni Jews have different traditions from other group of Jews so you can't claim Messianic Jews are not Jews based on traditions. Even Rabbinic Judaism has to invent traditions and rituals to fill the gaps because in reality, no modern Jews on earth follow the exact same Jewish culture of 1st century Israel and almost half of Torah are now obsolete since the Temple is gone so they have to invent man made rituals.

Jesus didnt mean to create a different religion, he was the Jewish messiah as prophesized in Isiah 53, the book of Zechariah and many more. He was meant to unite Gentiles and Jews alike, not divide them further.
Paul wrote that one who comes to faith as a Gentile should remain a Gentile, and one who comes to faith as a Jew should remain a Jew. Thus... messianic Judaism and Christianity. Not sure thats what Paul had in mind, but apparently it was how it was interpreted

How are you? I hope you and your family are well. I hope this message finds you in great health and your family, in high and joyful spirits.
I also hope this got translated correctly, but if not, please know that I mean no harm:
    "יברך אותך ה' וישמרך"
    "ה' יאיר פניו אליך וחנון"
"ישא ה' פניו עליך וייתן לך שלום"
I know this might be something to do at the end, but I got excited...
This was a really good video. Thank you. I honestly thought it was going to be a Rabbinic Jew bashing Messianics, but I'm glad I was wrong.
At any rate, could you please do a video on the canon of Scripture and the criteria for selecting it?
    Thank you in advance

Deuteronomy 12:1 seems very clear as to where the Laws/Statutes/Commands apply:
“These are the decrees and laws you must be careful to follow in the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you to possess-as long as you live in the land.” (Deuteronomy 12:1)
So, is there a "legal" as opposed to a moral requirement to follow these in the rest of the world?

And the Lord will set his hand again the second time to restore his people from their lost and fallen state."
"Wherefore, he will proceed to do a marvelous work and a wonder among the children of men."
"Wherefore, he shall bring forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah, who was rejected by them; and unto the convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Messiah to come..."

What are you trying to do worship like the early Christian’s or early Jews. Messianic Judaism at best can be traced to the 1880, but nothing tied or attached to Christianity.
Do you home work this is a new movement. Not one of them was authorized to teach - early Jews persecuted Stephen- they took the protection from Rome and for them separating from Jesus, early Christian’s were forced to submit sacrifice to Caesar. Wake up read church history. Lutheran Anglican is more closer to early Christianity than this. If you want to go back to early Christianity. Read the earliest writer
Ignatius of Antioch 3rd bishop of Antioch
