    High level fistula + low level. waiting 90 days ish, with the loose Seton: Within 12 house of arriving at emergency, had the seton surgery +. Condition resultant post 3 month of successful lymphoma chemotherapy. No prior issue. Your lecture has been greatly demystifying and anxiety reducing as I had arrived at this place with no knowledge or explanations. An informed patient has a higher probability of success when communicating with medical practitioners. As well, understanding the procedures and surgery methods employed can facilitate an awareness of post operative complications and the recognition to seek timely further treatment. Only after finishing chemotherapy cancer treatment I crashed. I had no idea how difficult recovery would be, complications and the time factor. I am joy filled to have been cured. But it definitely is a journey that challenges all of one’s physical resources and endurance.

      May I ask, with your loose seton, did they create an incision between the external opening extending into your anus? (Fellow anal fistula sufferer here.)

    Nice presentation, i’d like to ask some questions:
    1. Is it possible to identify/make sure whether a fistula is passing through both sphincters or lying superficially wo any imaging exam?
    2. CMIIW, there’s no need to do lift procedure in superficial fistula because it doesn’t cross both of the sphincters
    3. In high fistula, is it mandatory to do colostomy, any other option?
    Thanks..

    Is it typical to perform an incision from the external fistula opening to the anoderm during a draining/loose seton?

    • @EntriMed
      @EntriMed  Год назад

      Yes the procedure of incising a fistula from external opening to internal opening is called FISTULOTOMY"

    • @missedem
      @missedem Год назад

      @@EntriMed But that incision isn't typically standard if you are performing just a draining seton procedure, correct?
