I'm a personal fitness trainer and nutrition coach in London UK and have clients with various bowel issues. Many of them self-resolve after the first few weeks of cutting out junk food, increasing water consumption between meals, eating more fibre (both soluble and insoluble) through a range of fruit and vegetables, chewing their food more thoroughly before swallowing (particularly red meat), reducing portion sizes, consuming more electrolytes, and exercising more. Cutting out fizzy drinks and beer helps reduce bloating.
Strengthening the abdominal muscles (including the transverse abdominis) helps with peristalsis, so does plenty of walking every day.
