He should've used a paddle float after securing the paddle to the deck. Notice how he struggles to clamber back aboard. Good thing there wasn't some rough waves. He could've tired or cramp up w/o leverage getting back into the boat. Don't EVER paddle w/o your safety gear (water pump, paddle float, and paddle leash.). I use an AF (and Sport) but hope to get an Expedition this year. A bit more maneuverable than the bigger Convertible but then if I'm going on a Greenland Expedition, I'd might go with the extra length and displacement of the Convertible.
As a new AE1007E owner, I appreciate the view on this rescue. I look forward to following the expedition! Thanks.

Are you going to take your AE kayaks to Greenland?
Covid permitting yes, sorry for the late answer 😉
Wow! What good is a solo kayak if you can't turn it over by yourself.
The objective of this training exercise was to practice a deep water rescue. www.kayaktrainingaustralia.com.au/perform-deep-waterrescues
