I really want to see the old school Gene videos with his creative ideas , not only new gear review and a lens that less than 1% of the subscribers are interested to buy
Sony knocking out of the park with this perfect vlogging lens! Really great review guys. You really put this little lens through some practical use tests.
Good morning I am no longer allowed to talk about Gene's amazing toys. 12,000.00 credit card bill has my wife on fire 🔥 Still love the show, candy for my soul. I was a test driver in NV when I was 8n my early 20s. I called those rides velcrobandits and you could spot those magazine vultures snapping photos. Oh memories those Mojave greens had me on my toes as a kids out in the desert. Gene has me going on Google earth now pinning all the places I was traumatized as a child. Rising through my lost time line. Sam fuck boy calls has those Noss lizards 🦎😍🤪crazy in love. Just hit that pipe one more time. I still can't bring myself to by Sony after losing my TV during are last PCS move from Japan. We called Sony to get help when we arrived here in Washington state no dice. So Sony and AT&T are on are do not buy list. Still have a wish list Full frame camera New iPhone to replace my Samsung and I think I'm done with Samsung products now. And a DJI mini 2 to replace my mini and I can use these sweet DJI goggles. I'm still rewarding myself with more possibilities found on the potato 🥔jet show Gene is going to start a school and then a chain of film 🎥 dojo making the spicy soup. My boy on Guam had a nest of brown tree snakes 🐍in his septic tank. When heavy rains came it was a horror show snakes in the toilet snake sneaking around.🐍
wow, his wife should do voice-over...she has a very unique voice delivery. speaking of 14mm...I used to use that focal length back in my film shooter days with the Panavized version. Wide enough so people/faces and not overly distorted. useful focal length.
I think that’s actually the IBIS. Canon has really powerful IBIS which means super smooth footage, but tends to give you wobble. Sony’s not as stable, but less wobble
@1:25 "This is lee right here!" Plants good stuff and I want to see more fresh produce. Seriously if your reading this go buy a cluster of 14" pots, organic potting mix, 2kg of fertilizer for herbs and vegs and grow your own veges. Its great. Its kinda cool watching them grow but bugs not so much. Anyway the freshness and flavour is delicious. 😀👍🏻🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
These seems like a really cool lens! Sony keeps impressing me with all their new releases. I’m on my starter camera (canon m50) and may be switching to Sony in the future 🧐 Any “yays” or “nays” from the commenters?
he's paid to promote the ND filter. Everyone trying to scam you on ND filters always pull that cra. (don't get me wrong, ND filters are great, but just not for the same reason that influencer tells you)
Are you still using the 14mm for vlogging? Which rear filters do you recommend? Have considered replacing it with the 16-35mm GMII or Viltrox 16mm f1.8 or is the hassle of the rear filters still worth the benefit of the 14mm?
The autofocus jump from Gene to Sam at the bush was so quick & clear, wow. Nowadays I'm leaning towards a more discreet camera to vlog so the ZV1 has it
I never felt like you had a weird head with the 16-35 🤣. But I do sometimes with this one as a vlog lense 🤪. I can't say I like it that much... 3:08 that close-up b-roll, then the plant and the conversation after with 2 or more subjects... it looks too funky. When you move too much around 🔄, it kinda makes me a bit dizzy how the background proportions change as you go round 🥴. On the other hand, I don't find the lack of stabilization to be a problem (at least in that body). I don't feel disturbed by shaking, but I do by how the background changes and feels like spinning and makes me slightly dazed. It's not for me! But it is really sharp and I like the image quality overall. Thanks for the review!
This video feels like it was made for vlog channel but Gene decided to upload here. Either way, love the content and will watch it as soon as it drops !
Soooo glad that Sam had to go pee, I had no idea I was filming in that Super 35 Mode on my 16mm-35mm lens.....I know rookie mistake, but thanks to him you mentioned it and it triggered me to play with my A7C settings. Sam and you may have saved my whole real estate career. Thanks again guys!!!
Very curious, during the outdoor section where Gene was showing off his settings. Why would he be shooting in ISO 640? Can the newer Sony's not go lower than that? Is that like a stylistic choice maybe for some grain? Maybe cause of the Picture Profile? Im sorry, but Im genuinely curious why..... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I need a good camera for my unusual photoshoot. But the cameras seems too expensive. Can you recommend a good camera under $500, that can shoot 4k, please?
Question: Why am I seeing banding on the sky when you shoot with the C70? Is it my computer? I saw this on Matt Haapjola's [probably spelled that wrong] video when he shot wake surfing with the A7S III. Is this a lack of dynamic range thing? I thought 15 stops was a lot.

14:28 I didn’t know Sam was a Mexican wrestler 🤔
You learn something new everyday 😂
Can't wait to learn more with Dylan.
Gene constantly looking away from the street for extended periods while driving is giving me anxiety
For real. Folks, please dont film and drive.

Bit stupid, isn't it?

I love that Gene is equally fun and serious. Kept reminding that they need to get to work and get it done before they send it back to Sony
13:45 Sam was preeeeeety drunk or lifted. - Winston :P
how high your drone can go nurcc
13:13 SHEEEEEESH
OMG, it's surreal to be in one of Gene's videos. Thank you for sharing !😭 I always watch your videos, dude! And I love the whole crew.
at 3:21 when you start schooling Dylan about prime lenses, it looks like a sniper laser is on your forehead.
I really enjoyed it when you were teaching camera knowledge to Dylan! That was kinda cool!
FanTASTIC video, thank you! And you answered my question re the ND filter (which I already have for the 12-24mm) 👍
Sam was throwing out all the vibes on this one 🔥
That meeting program at 1:53 is so awesome!
Anybody know what it's called? 👀
Got it : GatherTown :)
9:18 People who came for the lens review are gonna be confused hearing about man getting bitten in the balls by a boa in a review video😂
Welcome to my world.
Definitely need a van office in LA, to be productive during those 8 hour traffic jams.
That awkward no high five at 4:01😂
colour and image quality look great. totally agree we need an a7Iv with built in ND filter or an adapter like on the RF mount. cool lens.
Now you guys are a trio, I think you should give the team a name 😁
Ah Yes, my two favorite things. Salsa and Pokemon! Looks like you found a Poison-type on your hike too! Thanks for the video guys!

Was just going to say she should do voice overs
@@jeffrey3205 no question. if she reads this, we've just launched her career to Hollywood stardom! ;)
Wow sam! Really cool to see you rockin that Ten Hundred tee!
I like how you've mixed the vlog folks into the main channel.
its good that the ibis doesn't wobble with such an UWA lens but its not super smooth stabilization but i prefer that over wobbly ibis
I'm excited for the future of Sam's peppers and Dylan's education.
The depth of field is amazing!!
I saw this on B&H yesterday and one day later Potato Jet is already doing a video on it! lol
it's a good day when gene uploaded a video
Potato Jet: Posting a Review about the New Sony 14mm
Me: Now I really want to buy a Orange & Teal LUT
whoa those little ghosting flare spots were super distracting
The wobble in the corners looks lot better than the canon wide lenses (I notice wobbles a lot in Pete's vlogs)
I think that’s actually the IBIS. Canon has really powerful IBIS which means super smooth footage, but tends to give you wobble. Sony’s not as stable, but less wobble
I commented that Pete's IBIS was acting funny, he replied that he didn't care
Feels good

That car that was camouflaged was a HUGE new car!! Thats actually I believe the brand new Jeep Grand Wagoneer!!!!!

4:39 Drooling over that C70.
I'm not even buying any of this stuff Gene is reviewing but still its really entertaining and calming!
Is it me or is there a weird lens flare thing happening at 3:18?
The stabe is so good I didn’t notice any shake until you mentioned it.

Brouwerij West... So Good! Solid content as always!
Great review! But in 6:24 why setting the iso at 640? why not just dropping it to 100?

That C70 switch over was beautiful! Canon gang!😂💪🏾
I'm very curious what the name of that virtual office software is called. It reminds me of old school Pokemon games.
She said the name. It’s called Gather.Town
Potato Jet I appreciate your content please tell me brother which camera tripod using in this video💝💝❤️❤️❤️

It blows my mind that Dylan’s such a great editor but doesn’t know about camera stuff.
relatable, been able to edit for like 10 years and picked up a camera a few years ago and then learned everything about cameras after
Love it or leave it for real estate photography?
When is the Potato Jet Camera Backpack coming out? :)

What that weird white dot in 3:44 to like the remaining of this outside prime vs zoom lesson
I know right! It seems like some kind of lens issue as there are points you could see it sligtly change and shows the light spectrum.
When vlogging did you use catalyst browse? Your scenes are so smooth for handheld

Clicked to check out the competitions glass, loved seeing the C70. 🤓
Awesome dude have I tried the sirui Anamorphic lenses? We are trying to get some for our vr channel
The footage looks so nice!
The reason this is my favorite camera channel is that he doesn’t roll the dumb slow motion montage intro.
Miss these videos and vlogs so much :(
Hey Gene! How about going hiking to potato mountain over here by Claremont, California?
Stickin with my first gen canon 7D and tokina 11-16 2.8.
Yo jet, Been watching the crap out of your vids, great content
Why do you not just turn down the iso? instead of using a darker ND?
What’s with that dot on your face sometimes outside
Dude, that pinpoint flare on your forehead though @ 3:19 . That would drive me nuts. Id rather deal with washed out, lower contrast flaring.
“Get closer with the 14mm” lol. Perfect time to have a prime.
Would love to have then lens to film some skating videos
would be interesting to see how well it works using the sony catalyst software
The inner lens reflections (flares) are a bit distracting 🤨
Was watching on the toilet , thanks for the anxiety guys 😭

I saw a lot of distortion, it makes your face stretch on the edge.

Huawei P50 Pro would be the best high end phone camera that will be made it has 1 inch camera sensor and bigger lens but I don.t know the price
whats the deal with the white dot on G master on the center of the frame during the hiking scenes
Why ISO640 on a sunny day?
auto white balance on my a7siii keeps changing in a video even though i didnt change the light. is this normal?
Was that a Rivian that you spotted?
