Both teams are full of legendary players and they serve up a cracker.
The impressive size of the crowd is also worth noting.
Two great teams having a right go in the last ever real competitive season in scottish fitba. The early to mid 80's Scottish Premier league was one of the most competitive in europe.
This was Souness'es first season at ibrox and it more or less died a death for any team outside the big two after this season. A real shame.
I was at the game and the finish was sensational. Those of us supporting United couldn’t stop smiling all the way home. How I miss those days!
I was at this game, as a United fan, it was one of the best games I was ever at. Hearts played brilliantly for most of the game, and could easily have been four up. But then United got their passing game going, and turned it all round in the last few minutes. What a goal from Ferguson, he was as sharp as a tack.
I was at that game. Both teams were outstanding, and probably either would walk the premier in today's terms.

5 teams in these days who were potential title winners. Aberdeen and Dundee United always in the mix throughout the 80s, Hearts becoming a force from 85/86 when she should have won the title. Even in the 70s, Aberdeen and Hibs were nearly always in the mix, despite never winning it both could have won at least one title. But since the mid 90s no one has really challenged the Old Firm, though Aberdeen were in the mix until late on last season. Hopefully next season will see a competitive league again, but back in the 70s and 80s the league was certainly competitive and had some quality teams other than the Old Firm, as this video shows.

I was at this game with my dad, I knew we were gonna win, just felt it, I met Henry Smith years later and had to bring up the Ferguson goal 😂😂
