- Today I went to a place called Goc Viet in Market Square, Sunnybank in Brisbane, I thought I'd give their beef fried rice a go to see how good it is, let's give it a try!

Great review Greggo! Try that other Vietnamese place next - Phat Loung Dong
That's what she said!
Chu Mi Phat.
To give some context to Cơm rang dưa bò, it’s (obviously) a fried rice dish that has pickled mustard greens, eggs, beef and of course rice. The reason there’s fish sauce in the dish is because we Northerners put fish sauce in absolutely everything. And I do mean everything.
Anyways, this is a pretty common lunch dish for working class folks, and sometimes goes for 20-25k VND, which is around a dollar USD. It’s also perfectly good as a breakfast dish, though most of the people I know and my family prefer to have plain fried rice with eggs for breakfast instead of the protein bomb that is the dưa bò variety, but overall, great dish. Simple to make, hard to mess up, great to enjoy.
Bonus fun fact: Góc Việt, the restaurant you went to, would be translated into “Viet Corner” in English.
Thanks for the info 😎✌
Thankyou for taking a short break from kicking people in the dick to pass on this information.
@@Roger__Wilco No problem, my friend, now back to the public service of dick kicking I go.
Are rats still on the menu?
Nice to have someone who knows what they're talking about explain what the face stuffer cannot!
Me love rice long time.
Me too.
I just eat it for the “happy ending “

You got to try a Vietnamese vermicelli salad, don't let the last word there scare you! it tastes amazing and is great to eat with all this hot weather we have been having.
I will have to look this up. I love Vietnamese food. I haven't found something yet that I don't like.
Bun bowl, I LOVE it! 1st thing I ever tried Viet as a kid back in the 70s! grilled meat, spring rolls, mixed salad with all the herbs in it, the nuoc mam cham, what's NOT to love?
Good to see you're still around Greg
Hope He can Try Pho which is Vietnam most popular and well known food and it’s so good.
I love a Pho!
Mail me some to the States (America) That beef fried rice looks and sounds amazing. lol I appreciate your post. Always looking forward to the next. (y) To me yes, $15 is a little much but I'm willing to pay extra for quality. I love fish sauce. For me would work.
Looks great, I have not had fried rice in a long time.
Well why would you for $15?
I quite like pickled mustard green and it's quite nice with fish or stirfry.
Always good when you can smell the garlic!
Wow I didn't know you were doing reviews now I remember your old videos love them
Great review Greg! You know from visiting Southeast Asia that prices there are cheap as compared to Australia or the US. I personally think $15.00 is too much for rice with a small bit of beef and vegetables. Rice, like potatoes cost little, which leaves the protein and labor as the culprits.
Good on you greggo looks great and healthy thanks again from me
Looks amazing, Grego!
The smokiness that you mentioned is called "wok hay" (breath of fire) in lots of asian cooking.
It's that unique smokiness which you can only get from cooking with wok on a high heat stove.
Fried rice looks good by the way and love all your review mate😀
2:23 I like how Greggo empties the spoon like lips aren't invited.
Looks yum
Looks yummy Grego 🤩
Mate that looks so darn good 😋
Great review Greg
Nice thanks for the review Mate
enjoy!!! we love ya Grego!!
Afternoon mate that does look good
You gonna make this Greg
Looked good Mr Stripeyhead
Thats way better than the crap from the King, Clown or Colonel. 😋
Come to Booval noodle City and ask for a"hot box" amazingly yummy combination noodle
Looks good mate 👍
Hi Greg'o. The average 5ml serve of fish sauce has around 1650mg (1.65g) of sodium.
Vegan alternative fish sauce has 330mg per 5ml serve and has a less pungent aftertaste. Better for you too!
No one cares. Take your vegan bs elsewhere.
Vegans 😤
@@justindavis8420 I'm not vegan. But if there's a vegan alternative which is healthier I'm inclined to choose it.
Good stuff .
I was so excited for the come at me and then... let me try the beef first lol
Greggooooo!!!
Looks tasty, GregO.
Vietnamese banh mi aka “mystery meat sandwich”
Looks like it needs some spring onion and Asian veg in there. Would make it a winner
Fries rice is gud 👍👍👍👍
Greg... i miss Sunnybank!
are you still going to go to America or somewhere else overseas mate? You could always do Thailand and smoke the weed and post some reviews ;-)
Yummo! Viet FR!
love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Nothing beats the fried rice you made Greggy 😋
15 bucks? Tell em they’re dreaming.
2 meals and a bonus chop bowl
Sounds more like a 10
The price is pretty much standard for a decent size serving like that these days.
A 5kg bag of jasmine rice at Coles supermarket costs $15 too!
Ridiculous price for rice
Ohhhh Mateeeeee y00 Like.
Looks nice and a lot of vuale
That spoon looks massive
If you liked that Greg, then you gotta try Bun Cha Gio! It's like you died & went to Heaven!
The fish and salt is prolly nuoc mam.
Who’s mam? 😂
What's a prolly?
@@nathans8462 Probably
being married to a Vietnamese woman I get to enjoy food like that
Hiya Greg i would like to see you cook this dish yourself, your good in the kitchen
He's crap.
It looks like it had crumbled dried shrimp bits on top, but I could be wrong.
Just eat the whole thing, Greg!
$15 aussie bucks?, that does seem a bit pricy, i don't know the exchange rate, but here in the UK, that would cost about £3 ish. Looks very tasty though Greg. You always get my tastebuds singing 🙂
Where's your local Vietnamese in England?
@@meegoreng8155 we have several in Swindon.
@@bonnie43uk so which one sells it for £3?
Honestly, I think $15Aud is on the money for a tasty fried rice.
I think you're wrong.
fried rice is cheap to make, barely any beef in there, should cost $11 max.
Looks like it came out on the boat 😂
Ahhh nice casual racism you gronk.
I think I'll stick to my homemade Dirty Rice, bit pricey.
I was half expecting to see a bed of rice on a lettuce leaf topped with a dead rat 😅😅
After what I saw on Netflix doco about a woman in the mountains of Vietnam an what she used wild rats for in meals in her restaurant. I can't come to trying Vietnamese food sadly.
The way things are going, I expect a lot people will be eating rat soon enough!
You'll know it when you can't buy a non poison rat trap anywhere. Better get down to Bunnings and grab a few now!
Looks very yummy yo and enjoyable plus guarantee by grego reviews
First
i think you could make it better at home mate
I think you're wrong.

Oooh delicious great review thanks so much love an God bless always from Cyprus x
Cheeky Sundee arvo ‘load uh GregO of somefing a bit diff’… They seemed a bit light on from the protein perspective but for $15 in these troubling times I spose u can’t blame… that pure taste of 621 always required for these types of grubber - didn’t see any egg but looks like they piled in the soy which is a must for mine… cheers Gibbo
15 for rice , RICE , FRIGGEN RICE, DONT WE GET THAT FROM CHINA, IMAGINE THAT DISH WITHOUT RICe🦗🪳🥓
That fried rice needs an uncle Roger review.
He's an absolute douche canoe.
Noooooo $15 ?
15 bucks for rice!?!?!???? R u crazy!!????
Get a KFC three piece for $13.95 with a drink including their soggy under cooked chips.
Get two zinger burger meals for $14.95.
4 pieces of original recipe for $6 95 plus 2 sides for $5 95 would be better value
Back in my day, that's maybe a $5.00 item! It's mostly rice, ffs 😑
So about 30 years ago?
hardly any beef
Too pricey I reckon.
A Decent size bowl he said
Yeah Old Mate we all know what you're going to use that for after you've finished with the Rice 🌿🚬🤪😂
Just realised Asians don't like cheese!
I just realised you're not very intelligent.
$15 dollars for rice? beef wanna be good? at least you won't have to worry about your Brisbane Lions this year mate? try n get your money back on them LOL
beef is an unusual ingredient for fried rice . Just sayin. Maybe its a Queensland thing?
It's only Round 1 Ben. The Lions might make the GF for all we know. However . . .. #FLAGPIES 2023 😁
@@SuperRoo_22 Mighty Bombers we're on top ! haha.
@@Bens_Views74 It was only against Hawthorn. We beat the reigning Premiers comfortably. 😁 See you on Anzac Day . . . .
I'm not a fan of rice I find it quiet dry
Quiet dry? What about loud dry?
That's a ridiculous price!
Give me a packed chicken Souvlaki for 10 bucks any day over bloody a rice meal for 15.....ha
(sounds ok though)
You're always on about souvlaki lately. Did you jus discover it?
@@meegoreng8155 "Just". What is your issue with me as I think Greg is fantastic, yet you troll me. Enough and yes I love Souvlaki (I doubt I'm alone in that regard)
@@chrisbutton9974 😆 tasmania is behind times.
@@meegoreng8155 Really? Is that why everyone wants to live here?
@@chrisbutton9974 😆 who wants to live there? Retired people?
0 chance i pay $15 for fried rice
There’s a reason those people are skinny like weeds. That was a nothing meal for way too much money.
Derp
wingnuts love rice 😑
ingredient cost of that dish barely pushing 4 dollars
The beef is probably a cat or dog beaten to death with a bat. Halal style
$15 for mince and rice, you got ripped!
