Any Asian food with good or special in its name is always a winner. You got the bonus deal GregO, special fried rice from Good Food Chinese. And that salty taste, MSG city. But you gotta luv it. Splash of soy sauce woulda been an improvement. And Lookin at the menu, I woulda got the fried dimmies on the side ( at 30% reduced price compared to steamed dimmies). Finger lickin review m8

When we grew up there was no such thing as carrots 🥕 or corn 🌽 in any
    Chinese restaurant’s fried rice.
Just another classic old school food item taken away from everyone.
Yes I’m aware in Thai food they put carrot and even tomato and pineapple in the rice.
I miss the old school awesome fried rice !!!!!

Coming from an Asian background, I’ve personally never found fried rice from a local Chinese takeaway that nice. In fact I don’t think I can think of any Chinese takeaway that wowed me. If you’re looking for Chinese fried rice I reckon those are best at high end Chinese restaurants rather than local takeaway, however the best fried rice in my opinion are Thai restaurants

Hi Greg, yeah it would be good to see you try some Asian foods, I funnily enough make myself a special fried rice for my tea last night it took me almost 30 years to get it exactly like a restaurant or takeaway quality with very few ingredients but the most important one is the MSG a third of a teaspoon per portion 🍻

I love these little suburban dirty Chinese joints and glad this one survived the pandemic as they’re been an institution since I was a pup in Richmond Road near Morningside train station… Nothing better then a solid special fry rye and I’d just add a bit more soy for my serving…. Pity they’ve gone to bamboo scoopas though… Replace the fish ‘n chip hunt as you’ve found the best with this search comparing container size, cost and outcome I wreck. Frozen Vietcong river shrimp much cheaper than pig these days so good to see them loading. Moist scoring, I’d like peas - cheers Salty, Gibbo

why did you have to spell his name with 2 G's !!! .. that's really upset me now. I hate it when people spell people's names wrong. I don't think you'd appreciate it if I called you Allen .. it would niggle the heck out of you.. ALLEN, .. how'd you like that ALLEN? see, it;s not very nice, is it .... ALLEN!!! ...I am SOOOOOO Angry right now, .. in fact, I'm going to go outside now and kick some bins over and strew garbage all over the place. And it'll be YOUR FAULT .... ALLEN!!!! ..will you come and pick the garbage up??? No, you wont... you'll just leave it, for someone else to tidy it up. Yes, you're quite happy to spell Greg's name wrong.. but you won't face up to the consequences of your actions will you... leave all those bins and rubbish strewn all over the place for others to pick up while you just sit behind your laptop eating your special fried rice... knowing other people are suffering because of your double G Greg comment. You knew I'd read this didn't you!!! .. knowing how much it upsets me. WHY DID YOU DO THAT ALLEN???

I'm Indonesian and the majority of nasi goreng in Indonesia does not contain bacon. This is because Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country and pork is forbidden in Islam. The most common meat is chicken, though in many cases they will omit the meat and just use eggs.

      The Chinese restaurant starter pack:
tucked away in a strip mall
some lucky figurine or lucky bamboo on the front counter
surprisingly large menu, it's not unusual to see over 100 items
the washroom is kinda grimy, perhaps a lingering smell of disinfectant
fortune cookies (in my experience the authentic ones give them out too)
Also a tip for gauging if a Chinese restaurant is actually good/authentic is by seeing if there are a significant portion of patrons that are Chinese, we know where the real good food is.

Fried rice, or, more correctly, egg fried rice! You sure opened a tin of worms here, Greggo. There are some great video's from our own Adam Liaw on how to make egg fried rice in a number of manifestations, and, of course, Uncle Roger gives us a whole bunch of recipe reviews from top chefs world wide that he failed miserably, especially Jamie Olive Oil. We could write a book on egg fried rice.
My favourite is simply egg, garlic, ginger and rice with a fresh Spring Onion garnish at the end, served with some BBQ'd Char Sui pork - most Chinese barbecues have it, and the rice.
But WTF was that funny wooden thingie you were using Greg, don't they have chopsticks in Queensland?
