Hillerman's English accent is spot on, as is his impression of an Englishman of that type. Very, very impressive. I would never have twigged that he was a Texan.
I can because there's a fundemental flaw in it and it's the reason why I looked up one day whether he was English or American. It's because everyone with an native English accent of that variety does an extra R sound on their hanging A sounds. e.g. "IDE-ER" instead of "idea". Even Hugh Laurie and Angela Lansbury says "idear" when they're using American accents and it is a dead giveaway to Americans they're not using their natural accent no matter how good they are. Apparently Americans can hear it more easily because every time I pointed it out to someone British they claim they can't hear it, but it's there. Hillerman doesn't have the r because it's not easy for Americans to copy it, if at all, since it's a very subconscious inflection.

I hear ya. I have the first 2 seasons, also watched the netflix streams of all seasons. It is "like the first time" because now you catch the nuances not noticed the first time. And, after having been to the island so many times, you recognize all the different angles of the same few locations they filmed at. At first it bugged me, but then I realized that's part of "movie magic"...suspending disbelief for a short while.
Wow! Thanks! Definitely good news...for Mr. Hillerman too! My dream would be a extra full length movie with the whole cast & several cameos of past guest stars. My wife & I would probably be the only ones in the theater (in our Hawaiian clothes), but it sure would be great. We know that Higgins wasn't Robin Masters (as some guessed). But, a continuation of that "mystery" could be fun. The show was silly, but sure was great entertainment. Glad they did it. Still brings me happiness.
I can't tell you how badly I want to see inside that house. I also would love to know why the owners have such a huge horse stable on a property that is only 3 acres. That house by the front gate is large enough for a family of 10.
1:49 is literal perfection. I wish I had a TARDIS from Doctor Who with an invisibility cloak on. It would just be my e*ect thing hovering in mid-air right behind him.
