It is an amazing story indeed. That is why I like to share another amazing story with you, about Nicky Cruz.
Cruz was raised in Puerto Rico. His parents were heavily involved in witchcraft and spiritualism, and as such, Nicky was the victim of repeated physical abuse and rejection at their hands. In an attempt to escape his violent upbringing, Nicky fled to New York City in the mid 50s where he soon got caught up in the gang violence that was sweeping the city. Fearless and seemingly immune to physical pain, Cruz rose through the ranks of the notorious Mau Mau gang in Fort Greene, Brooklyn to become their War Lord.
Cruz’ life was a downward spiral of violence and dysfunction. A court-ordered psychiatrist told the court and Nicky that he was “doomed...finished...on a one-way trip to jail, the electric chair and hell.” Then one day a skinny preacher - David Wilkerson - came to the war-torn streets of Brooklyn delivering a message to Nicky - “Jesus loves you, Nicky.” Cruz threatened to kill the preacher, but several weeks later at a rally at the St. Nicholas Arena in NYC - Cruz surrendered his life to God and exchanged his weapons for a Bible.

Wow! Divine protection for Billy Graham and salvation for the gangsters. Indeed God is love.
I was radically saved watching Rev. Billy Graham 15 years ago. It was one of his very old Crusades. I had never watched one before, and I didn't know what "being saved" was, even though I had regularly attended church since a child and owned a Bible since a teenager. Somehow I never heard the Gospel. To top it off I had an uncle who was a Presbyterian minister.
Then I was in the Catholic Church the first 25 years of my marriage to a Catholic. That produced no fruit.
I left that religion and avoided God for 10 years. Then one day in November I verbilized that I lost all faith in God. I got my Bible out and read the story of Jonah running away. Within 2 months I "accidentally" saw the BG Crusade and life as I knew it was never to be the same. Funny how God orchestrates these things.
I saw my sin, Jesus died for me and rose again... God is so awesome!!!

A short story. I was someone like this gentleman, I wanted to hurt people, not just any one though I wanted to hurt bad people. God took my grandma and grandpa when I was 13 years old. I loved them both with all my heart. So much so that my grandpa was my hero and my grandma showed me what love was truly like. They meant the world to me and I was devastated when I heard about their death. I went to their funerals (seperate occasions by about 2-3 weeks) and I sat there with their caskets and sobbed like a little kid. I helped carry their caskets to their graves and I remember hurting like I never had before. I was at home one day and I screamed to the sky I HATE YOU YOU TOOK MY HERO AWAY YOU TOOK THEM WHEN I NEEDED THEM MOST!! A lottle while later, about 6 to 9 months later I got a call from a friend of mine. She was sobbing into the phone and wass telling me her darkest secret. She was raped when she was a little girl by someone close to her and she could hardly get the words out and I remember being furious beyond belief. I grabbed my hunting rifle and planned to kill that person. I didnt care about the consequences I just wanted him dead. And as I grabbed my gun and went to leave I felt something inside me say what are you doing? And I said im going to kill this man, take his life the way he toom her innocence and I felt the voice say no your not, vengeance is mine my son. I stood there and thought God is that you? Why are you talking to me and I felt him say I feel your anger and it is righteous but it is not your place to give and take life. Only mine and I felt bad for what I planned to do. I wanted that man dead but I knew that if I killed him it was wrong. While some may say he deserved it I say its up to God to decide his fate. For God is the judge of all and it is not my place to choose who lives and dies. I fell to my knees and said im sorry lord please forgive me. I just want to stop these horrible things from happening. I just want to stop bad people and bad things and to protect others. And I felt him say I know my son but saving is my job and I do forgive you. From then on I devoted my life to my faith and wanted nothing but to share the good news of God with everyone I meet
Excellent! God is so good to intervene in our lives! He stopped you from becoming a murderer.

David was going to take Nabal's life but God stopped him. 🙂

@@steventhomas1182 im not doin too bad. Im doin much better than I was during that time. Im a few days out from turnin 20, Im a semester away from graduating college. Things are lookin pretty good, right now im just workin on coping with my depression and developing healthy ways to manage it. A lot of people think of it as just deep sadness and honestly its not always like thst. Mine right now just seems to be a lot of emotional numbness. I just dont feel a lot of things and it stinks cause I know I should be feeling stuff I just cant. Sure theres some sadness here and there but its mostly just trying to get a better grasp of what im feeling and how to express it

I also wish that other Christians were like you since these days everyone wants to act upon what the world wants and not what God wants. It is easier said than done but indeed, it isn't righteous.
Your story reminds me of when Jesus called Big James, and John the "Sons of Thunder". Those 2 disciples of Christ were aggressive and wanted to burn down a city that didn't welcome Jesus.
Jesus then redirected their passion into something else than strife, war, or revenge.
It's great to see the passage become alive again in a more modern setting.

I'm guessing they were not the only people who wanted Billy Graham dead. God however wanted him alive to preach salvation to many more. God always has the last word!

My mother accepted Jesus into her heart at a Billy Graham revival meeting. Some of Billy’s kids and grandkids lived in south Fl and we went to the same church when I lived there. BG was a truly an exceptional Holy Spirit inspired man. It’s incredible how God intervenes at the precise moment.
I am praying for my adult kids to hear God’s voice like this man experienced.

He is the complete opposite of what you see in mega churches and especially on TV, I’ve heard everything taught except for the Bible, and I don’t mean read a scripture or two and talk for 40 minutes. I turn on the TV and I hear philosophy, modern thought, Christian speak but I don’t hear the Bible line by line,verse by verse. Like most western hemisphere countries. Accepted man's teaching instead of God's Commandments. So voilà! There is a consequence in the rejection of God.
This story gave me chills! I know all sin will be forgiven, if you confess to God and ask for forgiveness, but I wouldn't want to stand in front of God on judgement day as the person who killed Billy Graham as an unrepentant sinner.

My Dad is gone now & I see this video. I am like this man, I thank God for taking my hate away and replacing it with Love.
I always love these testimonies. There's just this one defining moment where a person met God. I want to highlight something that is never talked about though. It's the people who were raised in church like me and many others. A lot of us didn't have some light bulb moment. It makes for a "crisis of faith" at some point through life. I went through this crisis a few times along with maybe what you would call micro crisis of faith several times or temp crisis of faith. I struggled because I would hear testimonies like these with a defining moment but I didn't have one. I'd have periods where the Bible would return void. God would be silent. My prayers felt they were bouncing off the ceiling. It seemed as if everyone around me would feel The Lord's favor but I didn't. I would question everything. However these crises were very important to strengthen me. So if your testimony is like mine and you are going through this now, know you are not alone and also know that King David went through this a lot too. It's evident in his Psalms. Hang in there. Don't stop praying. Don't stop reading the Bible. If you fall off the wagon with this or even sin, just get up and get back on. Your peace and joy will one day return.
I can totally relate to that. and i turned my back on god in those crises, then god brought me back to himself.
Can absolutely relate. Joyce Meyer says people like us are "works in progress". Maybe because we were raised in the church and our hearts are true, we don't need a "defining moment", just a bit of "Parental guidance" from God when we lose our way.

Billy Graham was a great man. He took the message to the people. You have to get out of that "building" to reach as many as you can.
This is beautiful and very relatable.
Instead of murder, it was lust for me, I too was angry with life.
The Lord spoke to me on the dance floor with my gf on a school camp, ran out with the whole grade seeing me cry. (and I ain't no softie or unpopular).
From then on I was like who are you, why would you love and want me?
The rest is history, I have been running my race for Him ever since.
I share this testimony often, it has power, but understand, very few are spoken to audibly.
You have eyes and ears, so let them see and hear the word, the Truth, that truth is Jesus.

He’s right, my brother and I were told we were stupid, worthless and wished we weren’t born. My brother turn to booze, drugs and sex.
I tried those things for about 6 months but I felt worse. I moved out at 19. At 22 I saw Billy Graham i prayed for real the first time. I accepted Jesus Christ! Glorious God led me on a path. It took 45 years. For me to truly appreciate the beauty of what Jesus did for me. I forgave myself and my brother, my parents. My brother got abused he abused me, my father abused me. My mother wanted me to be her parent. We had a baby sister, my brother as treasured by my mother , my sister by my dad. 2 are now dead. My mother and baby sis. My brother lives in a nursing home with dementia at 59. Leads a Bible study. I can honestly say I love my fractured family. It made who I am a tremendously strong willed person. My husband grew up with a dad like the Brady bunch. His family hugged out anger.
We live in a fallen and imperfect world, but our hope and faith in Jesus Christ will comfort us until he calls us Home, where there will be no more tears. Thank you so much for your testimony and God bless you.

I'm so thankful to have come across this video. George Palmer was our Officer (Pastor) about 25 years ago! I remember him telling us this testimony of his conversion. I am grateful to have known him for the couple of years he was with us in Melbourne. Bless you George.
