    Always a good start to the day with bouncing babies. Amber was too funny avoiding coming up. May I ask besides Prim, how old the rest of the goats are?

      Everyday should start with baby goats! Amber and Luna are 4 years old this spring! Miss Bee just turned 3, and Dahlia is turning 1!

    So many of you guys have the same goat names that’s crazy

    • @sweetcreamsdairygoats
      @sweetcreamsdairygoats  9 месяцев назад

      I notice that too! Prim is the one and only from Weed em and Reap, but we also have a Luna ( she was already named when we got her). I Don't think I have heard other goats named Amber, Dahlia, Miss Bee or Trinity? Have you? Curious!

    Your goats are pretty. Have you thought of breeding these Nigerians with Saanen goat a high milking breed form Switzerland, they are produce a big quantity of milk comparison to their size.
    You may create a new breed with characteristics of both small and large milking abilities.

      People have done this before with good results. Recommend

      That is interesting. If I had more land I would love to get creative. For our family, the ND produce the perfect amount of milk though, and it tastes like perfection. What about the Saanen? Is it comparable to ND?

      @@sweetcreamsdairygoats the milk is less in butter fat. Definitely not as rich in the cream. But they produce so much that they are considered the Holsteins in the goat world.

      That is a great option for sure. Something to consider if we get to needing more milk in the future. Thank you!@@DaughteroftheKing-j6q

    Amudaus needs a new collar soon, he already has a big buck neck. It always makes me sad when people don’t want to be around their bucks. I’ve never smelled one but it’s not their fault, it’s just biology 🥺

      I will double check if I need to loosen it tonight when I go to tuck them in ( haha). I agree, it is so hard to not give the bucks more attention. They crave it too. The buck smell is a really unfortunate reality with goat keeping. If you have to touch them, when they are in rut, or even if they rub on your clothes....the smell will linger for a long time. Even after washing with soap. It's true, it's not their fault.
