- Parents of a sixth grade student at Harns Marsh Middle School, in Lehigh Acres, are outraged after a school counselor shaved their son's head at school after he showed up with an inappropriate hair cut. The school said the kid showed up to school with a gang related hair cut and it violated school policy. The hair cut represented the Miami Heat basketball team.
Seriously...you think the kids haircut was gang related...wtf is wrong with these people.
Lucifers Apprentice Gang related? Boy he in 6th grade.
That's why I don't understand why they shaved his head.
Lucifers Apprentice. or kids having dreads
To hell with that bullshit, dreads should be allowed the same with ponytails, mowhawks and death-hawks.

The minute that "counselor" touched that kid, it's considered assault.
It would actually be battery, as assault is verbal threats that cause a reasonable person to fear for their safety/well being, and battery is physically attacking someone
My bad... battery it is then!

Cutting a child’s hair without parental permission is actually assault
Olivia._.L It is assault because you know that haunted house thing with the torture thing? Yeah they shaved hair but they had a weaver which means it can be legally done by a piece of paper however, there was no weaver that was signed which technically means assault
@@MA_Colt ... ok then. Not entirely convinced but sure, makes sense.
@ACK Preacher ah I see, ok then.
The counselor said the stepdad agreed so the kid wouldn't get in school suspension. I believe he did agree, but now he is afraid to admit it because his wife is so PO'd. Notice the stepdad didn't look all that upset. Mom is the one who is upset and stepdad doesn't want to spend time on the couch.

I remember my school shaving off our hair... for a photoshoot... Me and the other students didn't even had much long hair since the school is so strict about it. But they still felt the need to shave our hair all the way to the scalp. They didn't even do a good job of it. They just ran the machine over our head and were done with it. I was so pissed I didn't show up on the day they were supposed to take the photo. I so hate that school for this. There were so sports activities, no extracurricular activities, just study, study study and so so strict. The thing was, on of the teacher had long hair but that was okay because apparently, he is a TEACHER... and that hair style suits him. But us student? "What are you talking about kid? Stay in your place."

The real issue is Schools doing unnatural acts to children without
parents permission. Remove the counselor for insubordinate behavior.
This is assault on a minor child. There needs to be charges filed. Cutting hair without a proper license is also against the law. Kids in this case are not sheep or goats.
This is deja-vu to me. When I was in 7th grade the school actually sent out a letter about gang symbols/codes that were appearing on students' clothing _and certain hairstyles._ I remember seeing a kid being held at the office with a plain black cap on. Strict no hat policy, so I knew he had something they didn't like on his head. When I saw him a few days later, sure enough; shaved head.
But that's the exact protocol. You give the kid a hat and request a parent pickup. Yard-narcs, janitors, P.E. teachers... plenty of hats to bum. If it's a short wait, keep em in the office. If it's not possible, then they get to wear a hat the rest of the day in class. Suspended until the hair is cut.
*"When I saw him a few days later, sure enough; shaved head."*
what's Ironic is they shave your head for having a "Gang" hairstyle, without ever recognizing that the most common "Gang" hairstyle is a shaved head, whether we talk about racist skinhead gangs with the chromedome cut, latino or black gang members rocking the super short "Cesar" cut, etc.
which of course means that THOSE kids who actually are affiliated with a gang go under the radar because their hair is "conservative enough" to not be noticed.
like "you can't look like a Crip, so we're gonna make you look like a neonazi instead". kinda says all that needs to be said right there.
whether intentional or not, the conservative attitude that schools hold about hair and dress codes biases toward targeting brown and black kids. notice how there is never a story about a white kid getting this treatment except MAYBE if there is Lice involved. instead it'll usually go down like you described "here's a hat, kid. don't come back until you got that Supercuts value special #2."
how does a counselor just happen to have clippers on hand???

HOW DARE THAT PERSON. LUCKY IT WASNT MY CHILD I WOULDNT BE THAT NICE.
If the school is worried about the child’s haircut, just talk to his parents! It’s unacceptable to do anything like that to a child without the parent’s permission
Plus its not even inappropriate its just art with numbers even if it was something from a gang or gang sign it doesent affect the school at all
@Jotaro Kujo how's it inappropriate? It is in support of a sports team. I live near Seattle, and kids used to go to school all the time with "12" in their hair, or even an actual Seahawk shaved in.
@Jotaro Kujo even so call the parents do not shave the son's head without his permission.
@M 40 I watched the whole video and actually the father stated he couldn't make it to come in school and would alternatively wait for him to come home and fix it then.
@M 40 1:10
So you’re telling me that schools are more concerned about a boys haircut then about kids getting bullied and committing suicide?-
What? they cant do all three
Basically because at my old school this girl kept bullying me saying she was going to beat me up and stuff and all she got was a warning and she still didn’t stop
The solution is not to take power away from teachers.
It's to give them more power.
I stand by what the school did as that haircut was completely inappropriate.
The problem is not if the school had the authority to do that or not, the problem is the parents of that child sending him to school like that knowing the policy full well is against it.
When you have situations of bullying that teachers aren't stopping, that's because they don't have the power to stop the bullying.
Edit: the school should not have done that without the authority to do so, but my point is - they should have the authority to do so.

That is assault on a minor! The counselor had no right to do that and should face charges!

at my elementary school we had a crazy secretary who would terrorize us for not tucking in our shirts. Kids from other classes would literally run in warning us that she was coming down the hall so we would just tuck in our shirts like mad. We were all so terrified after she cut one of my classmate’s shirts with her scissors. She always wore that pair on the lanyard around her neck. Looking back to it, I have no idea how she wasn’t fired. What a dick bag
@Mr. Goodbar"Parents need an attorney". Yeah , not enough frivolous lawsuits in the courts. It's just a haircut. All involved will get over it.
Definitely prepared with all these shootings, counselor noticed the kid was about to commit a shooting, wasn't having it he unloaded his clip first 💀
Schools when they can’t find an actual excuse: “gang violence”
I grew up in Brooklyn, and I knew some kids who had family in gangs, and they used that as leverage to bully kids. I have been literally threatened with gang violence with no consequences, but I know a number of times where I’ve went to the counselors office for wearing my Pokémon hat indoors under the pretext of “security purposes”

Why would he get in school suspension for a haircut his parents gave him? Aren’t there more important things to concern yourself with?
No, there's nothing important for them to do. All that matters is the power fantasy and enforcing poorly thought out rules.
Preparing the kid for life in 'free' America.
Breaking the rules. Its distracting when a student comes into the classroom with a nontraditional haircut. The parents sign a contract.
@@ratherbfishing455 "Wow, this kid's haircut is way too unique! I just can't learn because I'm way too distracted by this kid's haircut!" Either way the school doesn't have the jurisdiction to cut a kid's hair and the time would be much better spent doing something that's actually productive.
Rather B Fishing who tradition? What’s non tradition ?
A grown ass man hating on a kid. Sad. That haircut was nice AF
Really that is a form of assault. I would have pressed charges against that counselor.
