@@DanHunterSportsWriter You're right, he's not Joe R he's Dorian Yates and give him a chance. This one was a great introduction I thought. And Dorian is a real guy, extremely streetwise that's plain to see. Plus he's just as smart as Rogan, more so if you ask me. Joe's been at it a long time and kind of caught the first wave with this podcast phenomena. There are some similarities actually, but Dorian if anything in my eyes got more about him. To do what Dorian did in his niche bodybuilding era and the time he did it is some great achievement in itself as well, he demands respect just for that, but there's a lot more to Dorian other than that.
@@eddiebaby22 I've been a fan of Dorian since the early 90s, and I saw him guest pose round that time. Dorian is a worldly guy who's had plenty of life experiences. He's smart and articulate, but sometimes his delivery is a bit monotone. What Joe Rogan has going for him is he's been a stand-up comedian for 30+ years, and he has the confidence, training and timing that goes with that. Rogan has also been doing his pod for years, Dorian is just starting, but if he sticks to it he can be a force no doubt.

I don't know whether he is or is not. What I do know is he's a resource along with Dorian that asks and answers so overdue questions that will hopefully benefit the masses within the health, fitness and sports industry. Mistakes are the very foundation of truth. To many bodybuilders have lost their lives from avoidable mistakes or misinformation from bro science.

I’ve just turned 50 and this has helped a lot.
I’ve been thinking about getting leaner as I do train 4-5 days a week in the gym and I’m 107 kg & 6ft tall completely natural (I only drink protein drinks nothing else)
I think I’m to heavy for my age, ppl say “Man U look good for your age, wow u have a great bod and u look fit” but inside my mind k know I’m way
to heavy & I need to drop 10-15kg.
This podcast you just uploaded & the questions you just asked the Doc will prob save my life if I change the way I think about “looking big” to down sizing to a weight that’s manageable and healthy.
Your obviously concerned and aware of what you put your body through in the past and you know that it catches up with you wheN you get older.. keeping on top of your health is so important when you hit that 45-50 year old mark into beyond..

Excellent interview. Been looking forward to seeing it since you mentioned it on FB. At 53, I'm curious about making sure my training and nutritional goals are still sensible, so this was useful. I don't know about other parts of the world but I now live in Portugal and I doubt I'd get my doctor to do any tests I asked for. Testing is available privately but at a significant cost. Look forward to seeing more interviews.

Thanks for this excellent heads-up. We all must bear the warnings of the dangers of elevated levels of insulin. Keep a low Glycaemic Index food diet and keep exercising (3x10m walking/day and short high intensity intervals training 2x/week).

That was a really interesting podcast actually and I am now a subscriber to Russ Scala as well. Totally agree about the bodyweight thing, it doesn't matter if you are a bodybuilder or fat, you don't need to do research or be a scientist to see there are not many of these body types in old peoples homes, its definitely not attached to longevity. Same for the high intensity or endurance athletes, it's impressive and they may be able to do it but I would not say it's a good way to live in that zone. A body will take extreme stress be it exercises or weights but it isn't necessarily good for you, especially prolonged. Sex, drugs or Rock & Roll, everything in moderation 😉

Sir, you are my biggest inspiration since i was a little kid. I was around 9-10 years old, when my biggest brother started to workout on a basement gym and all the walls was covered with posters, images with the 90's bodybuilders and one particular poster got my attencion and i will never forget that image in my head. The 93' six weeks out black and white front lat spread. I was just standing there and my 10 years old brain couldn't understand what the fuck is that, and how is even posible. So.. Gues what... I start to workout as well when i was around 18 years old, on a different gym but it was also a basement gym called TITANIC gym. Pretty basic machines, old irons, steel plates, huge dumbells, loud rock music etc. You can imagine the atmosphere. I learned a lot about training methodes, splits, how to train effective with out spending ours on the gym, nutriens, etc etc. I guess i learned about 80% about all these things from DY. The rest was experience. I'm glad that you do prodcast and you share a lot of information. Wish you all the best sir! Youre fan from Romania-Transilvania.

I loved this podcast , 6 months ago I switched to organic keto , this for me saved my life my doctor told me I was most likely insulin resistant, and was about to prescribe medication to treat my impending diabetes , I started hit training along with keto, and I'm down 44 lbs my blood work is great and I'm off all medication and at 62 actually put on muscle , I incorporate circuit weight training into my routine along with intermittent fasting , I went from a 42 waist to a 34 in 5 months , and I feel great!

I recently watched Dorians blood & guts series , so last week I incorporated that into my circuit training routine , it's pretty tough for me but I'm going to continue it ~
