The orchestral swell honestly makes me very emotional. I've shed a tear or two watching this live rendition. The best antiwar song ever recorded. I'm of Japanese descent and this song really hits me close
I have loved OMD since Electricity back in 1979 and continue to do so. I so much love this live version - with the Full Orchestra OMG, the vibrant string section playing on the lead synthesizer's and adding their own touches leading us from verse to chorus adds a new dimension to this song. Likewise latter part of the song is complimented by the brass section who add their own balanced bounce to this British Classic, please fellow fans listen closely to how the orchestra gives this great song new depth, I wonder if Paul and Andy had any input with the Orchestra?
It's always great how this orchestra gives a whole new depth in this song. I find it undecribeable how you clearly can see that he is exausted but still continues. When I saw how he moves it didnt supriced me he looks exausted.
Love.This.Band! Phenomenal music. Am watching this at 56 years old. Enola Gay and Electricity were the soundtrack to my night clubbing days. So cool to see another generation loving this! We were better dancers though 😂🤣😂! Love you Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys ❣️🥰😍😘
Siempre me ha caído bien este cantante, lo vi en entrevistas y es un tipo humilde, creativo y muy simpático, un británico que quisieras tener de amigo... ademas es uno de los creadores del synth pop.!!!
Artists that start making music to make money fast and get rich and famous - todays popclones. Artists that started making music because they have the heart, soul, talent and fun in making music - people like OMD. Andy & Paul were awesome back in the days and they are still awesome to this day :)
knubbelkeks69 you are not wrong there my good sir, artists like OMD, Queen, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, MJ, Elvis & Madness, Tupac, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G, Dr.Dre just to name a few. Were all proper musical geniuses and deserved to be incredible artists like most of them are today (sadly most of the people I mention have passed away), and today’s music is fucking atrocious (not saying all music as there are still decent music out there, just gonna know where to look), say the likes of Lil Pussy, XXXtesticles, Cardi Bitch and again, just to name a few DO NOT deserve to be iconic musical artists as they have no talent whatsoever. Soz for my rant but I feel it needs to be said 😂😂
I was a teenager in the 80s and my Granddad was a steward at the Dome Brighton. When the Bands I loved came to play I'd get him to get me an access all areas pass if he could, but he couldnt for the OMD gig so I ended up in the lighting Tech's box way up in the back but with a good view, the tech started to show me how to read the cues and use the sliders (no automation back then) it was coloured stickers and lyrics on a wall chart and you had to follow that and push the right sliders. he let me have a few goes in the middle of a few songs and let me do the whole of Enola which as I remember they finished on, but his hands were hovering only a few mil over mine in case I got it wrong. I didnt and it ended in a brilliant white light from behind the stage to blind the audience as if the nuclear bomb had gone off. it was only a couple of sliders to do the biggest effect in the whole show. Anyway, that's my memory of that gig and song,
Spectacular and beautiful song...so mesmerizing....OMD.....STILL PLAYING THEIR AWESOME MUSIC TODAY.....today pop generation take notices, this is how you make real sound of great awesome real music....OMD ROCK.....
A very good example of the quality that RUclips can deliver these days. RUclips delivered quality HD at the start of June 2009 with no press release, and no press coverage. A HUGE development for the web. Gone unseen. This footage helps that. Great song, great video. Watch the view counts rise on this one perhaps?
Just saw these guys at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater Fla. Aug 28th, 2019----They brought the house down! Sounded EXACTLY as good as this version....just incredible. Also played; "If You Leave", "Joan of Arc", Electricity", "Secret"......plus, awesome visual show on the screen behind the band.
It's 8"15 thats the time that it's always been . We got your message on the radio conditions normal and your coming home.. Haunting words always makes me feel emotional in side when I here those words 😢😢
Enola Gay, you should have stayed at home yesterday Aha words can't describe the feeling and the way you lied These games you play, they're gonna end it more than tears someday Aha Enola Gay, it shouldn't ever have to end this way It's 8:15, and that's the time that it's always been We got your message on the radio, conditions normal and you're coming home Enola Gay, is mother proud of little boy today Aha this kiss you give, it's never ever gonna fade away Enola Gay, it shouldn't ever have to end this way Aha Enola Gay, it shouldn't fade in our dreams away It's 8:15, and that's the time that it's always been We got your message on the radio, conditions normal and you're coming home Enola Gay, is mother proud of little boy today Aha this kiss you give, it's never ever gonna fade away
Brendan said, we've got to play him in center mid, oh words just can't describe, when we see him in the green and white, his hair is fine, he scores belters all the time, that's why we sing this song, for Stuart Armstrong!!!🍀🍀🍀
One of the very best ! What a band 💓 seen them at leeds with Simple minds many moons ago think 88 or 89 .They were amazing ! Two great bands for the price of one 😉👍💓

Increíble pieza musical, siempre inspiradora y sublime junto a una sinfónica y a efectos tan especiales...gracias OMD!!!
The intro... is a trademark.
