Recently got fitted for 3 and 4 iron at Titleist Craigielaw. Graeme the fitter went to great lengths to explain why he felt these would help me more than my TS3 hybrid and also took the time to get the right shafts so we could get average carry distances to fit in with other club gapping. I just love them.
I bought the 4 iron after having issues with my stock 4 iron in my t100s set. The loft is identical and I thought I would give it a shot. I looked down at the club and thought man this thing is ugly its a brick with a shaft but some how got around that look. I hit this thing and was blown away by it. The launch and flight is so sweet and its so easy to hit. I have used three or four different balls with it and in every case it just hits well. If you are in the market for a utility club like this I strongly recommend going to a shop to get fit but even more important is to go to one of those Titleist demo days at a near by course. Hit the thing on a real range with a real expert behind you and see what you think its a great product and you might be surprised.
I've just been fit for t100's at a Titleist fitter, replacing the 4 iron for a u505. Yeah it looks a bit odd, but after hitting it a few times it was an absolute no brainer. Love is blind.
This reminds me of Chi Chi Rodriguez running off the course in the rain with his 1-iron over his head because not even G-d can hit a 1-iron... I already have 2 utilities in my bag, a 4 and a 5. I wanted the performance of a forgiving club that was more iron like than a hybrid, and they've worked out great for me as a long iron replacement on the fairways as well off the tee.
1 Iron is a good idea for driving off with, if there are trees both sides of a narrow fairway, where drivers are dangerous. I'm 28 handicap Ali. Some of us don't hit it as straight as you do. lol
Nice club review. The 20degree U505 is very interesting. Hopefully, you will do comparison review among 20degree U505 against U510, G425 crossover, SIM UDI, Srixon ZX utility iron, Cleveland UHX.
I use a Taylor Made P790 2 Iron with a Hazrdous Smoke stiff shaft for the "can't decide" tee shot. Everything else irons wise is Ping, but that club is a treat. Wouldn't fancy it off a tight lie though....
One of the problems I found with this iron is under the incorrect condition. The sun reflection from the clubhead could really glow. Sometimes sunglasses can't even help.
I keep a 2i 505 in a 3i length for long runner and fairway finders in headwinds and tight fairways.

Pretty great content unintentionally comparing shafts. The GD just shined the brightest.
What’s the difference between the u505 4 iron and the t350 4 iron?
Hey Ali, what was the specs of the graphite design shaft in the 3 iron? Thanks
Was it a Tour AD Schaft in the 3 Iron?
