Well done. It isn't as easy as it seems. From my experience, as soon as you hit close to the part of the card that you meant to hit, you pack it all up and go home!
Yup…I hit it time for lunch! It is harder than it should be from that distance. No wonder a lot of gun fights in the old west didn’t go so well. Thanks for watching!
OK, this sounds like fun. I like the fact this has historical precedence and will also give a new approach to my cap & ball shooting. I believe I will incorporate this into a normal routine. A little late in the season to begin--28 degrees this morning, which makes capping an adventure--but I will look forward to starting this in the Spring. On my way to buy a deck of cards!!
That’s great! That’s what it is for me…a way to change up my shooting and increase the challenge in a way they would have back in the day. It’s 26 here this am so I hear you! Good luck and good shooting! Thanks
Well, OK...that was a bit harder than I thought. Went out today with an Uberti 51 Navy and my first shots, one handed,. at 10 paces resulted in one hit. At the end of the session I managed 4 hits on the last card after to moving to 7 paces but I can see this is going to require more work. I still feel this is something I will do on an ongoing basis as its good practice and was interesting and fun.
I'm just getting into black powder weapons. I have a 1851 (I think ) 36 cal. I have shot 6 rounds through it. I cast my own roundballs and make my own powder. I have a newer style inline 50 cal. rifle. I have been away from shooting about 40 years. Back then, I was shooting a 1911-A1 accurized with bowmar tuner rib and pacmire grips. From the surrender position with hands up to firing 6 rounds into a 2 1/2" circle at 25 yds. in less than 3 seconds. So shooting the muzzleloader and the cap and ball revolver is very humbling to say the least. But I see a lot of fun shooting comming my way.
Hey William! Yes...shooting and range time takes on a whole new meaning with these firearms....I happen to enjoy touching every shot and all the time it takes...must been like that back in the day. As I said somewhere...this is a hobby of patience! I just relaxed and went with it and now I havent had my modern arms out of the safe in several years. If you need anything or have questions...never hesitate to reach out! Merry Christmas! and thank you for joining us here and watching!!!
Her's a game that we do from time to time at our club in Delaware. Get a new deck of cards, shuffle thoroughly, DO NOT PEAK AT THE CARDS ! We are going to play BLACK JACK ! Staple 6 cards face down on a piece of cardboard, the distance is up to you, normally we shoot 25 yards & closer at times, take 1 shot at each card, for every card that is hit or nicked, you can play, remove 1 card at a time, if you go over 21 YOU BUST ! The more shooters, the more fun, ENJOY !
Fantastic! I’m actually planning a competition this summer where people can submit a video to name a winner. Just gotta figure it out. You’ll love the 61! I shot mine in the vid with a 61 sheriff.
Hi - I did this challenge and am making a video on it. I was wondering if you would let me use a clip of your video in my video, and if it would be OK to link back to your video? Thank you.
So…you may have just guessed a future test video. Barrel length! I think the dance brothers I used is 7.5” but I might be wrong. I’ll measure it. Anyways stay tuned lol
Sir I like to thank you for honoring my great-great-great-grandfather, however please do remember he was a gunslinger and a man killer, so please don't read too much into how he did things
I'll have to give this a try - knowing full well after I miss all my shots - I'll have to club the card with the butt of my revolver...
lol! I love tearing them up…as clean as they are. Good luck

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I wish you and yours a happy Thanksgiving.

I am trying this with a bunch of different guns. Yeah it’s harder than it looks, especially one handed
That’s great man! Yes…1 handed adds some challenge for sure. I try different guns too and each one is its own adventure! Thanks!
I'll have to try this next weekend. Should be fun.
Give it a try! It’s a good time and challenging! Let me know how you do
Just found your channel .I have watched blackie for years. I see you found his gun butter it's wonderful. Please keep up your good work.
Thanks. Glad you found me. Blackie was and is where I began learning about these things! I still go to his list when I have questions. Thank you!!
very cool👍👍
Thanks. Still thinking about a viewer contest. Just gotta figure out how to do it

Yea it is harder than it looks. But 4 from 7 is great! It’s great accuracy practice…sim small and miss small! Great!

Wow! That’s terrific! I’m gonna do that here pretty soon! Thanks for that idea!
Yea but JWH and Wild Bill fired from the hip while fanning😬
Well…good for them lol. Not me! I’ve never read that but it’s possible I suppose. I would too if I ever get into movies lol

I am going to try this with my new 1861 Navy.

I just talked my friend into doing this with me but he wants to know if there is a Senior Citizen Discount on the distance😀😂
Well…as a senior myself the answer is YES! it’s 7-10 yards. So go 7! lol.
👌👌👍👍✌✌
Thank you!!!

That’s great. Yes of course you can. I appreciate it! Have fun!
I want to see your video. Looking forward to it!
@@CapBallFanatic-gb3jb I'll let you know when it is posted. Might be a couple days before I finish it.
@johnzx6r hey thanks!
I’ll link back to yours too if it’s ok too
Is that competition is still going go get my dance brothers and we'll go at it
I love dance brothers.
Wish I had a piece of land where I could shoot. How far in yards or feet would you equate to 10 paces? Some ranges only have fixed distances.
It’s a great luxury to shoot at home. I count bout 1 yard per step so 10 yards is 10 paces.
🇺🇸💪👍💣
Thanks for watching!!!!!
Why not use a barrel that is 7.5 - 8” long?

Well…what people did in those days was in those days. Thanks. Not sure how any of us would be if it was then, now!
