The Flagship Chaumet store on the corner of Pitt and King St does not get a lot of foot traffic, I pass by it quite often on my way to grab coffee (So yeh they may have not reached their monthly KPI 🤣), it opened less than a year ago.
I like the Westfield store better, even though it can be more crowded, the service is quite good. I remember when I went into the Chaumet in Westfield a few years back during the Xmas season, to ask about the Josephine necklace and bracelet for my mum. I was not going to purchase on the day, but the store manager at that time sat me down and introduced the whole Joesphine collection to me, even tried some of the items on to give me an idea of how it would look on my mum. In the end, they even gave me a book about the collection. I wasn't expecting that level of service as I was in my gym gear, I don't have a purchasing history with them and was not purchasing on that day.
Try the Westfield store next time.

Omg I had the exact same experience as you when I tried to buy the BML ring at the flagship Sydney branch. The SA was really pushy and kept trying to convince me to buy a smaller size even though I told them it was hurting my finger.

I had this experience at a Gucci store, they did't have the bag strap I was looking for and the staff just got really intense and were leading me towards bags that I particularly dislike. It was weird. Concluded that these sales staff are desperate to meet targets as spending cools. I actually felt sorry for the guy, but not $5k AUD sorry for an EastWest red horse bit clutch that just looks absurd. It was a NO.

Yes it happened to me at my local Fendi, TWICE!!! Super pushy, didn’t gave me 2 seconds to browse a little bit and see what they had. Constantly following me and talking, proposing hideous stuff to me. Not taking the time to even ask me what I like. Now, I don’t even stop there, I don care, I will never buy from that boutique. Even in Canada, Fendi was pushing. I’m like, is it their thing? I cannot!!! Leave me alone to at least check out your store!!!
I am a very direct person when I walk into a store if someone starts to hover around me I literally look at them. I say listen if you hover over me, I’m just gonna leave if I need help I will ask you, but if you hover on me I definitely will not buy anything.
Would’ve told them that champagne helps me think.

After offering to order the product and perhaps a polite "is there anything else I can show you today?" It's time to back off. I wonder if those intimidation sales tactics have been successful in that boutique. "You can stay with me"! Desperation is not a luxury vibe.
I have no patience with people like this and have no compunction about just politely declining and walking out. “You can stay with me”….OMG! And they lied?! I’m speechless.

When I watch RUclipsrs out and about “window shopping” for handbags, I often wonder how they are able to do it without a SA hovering over them like a hovercraft. When I walk into a luxury store, someone has immediately glommed onto me, like in a nanosecond and they never leave my side. It’s not enjoyable at all and it is always followed shortly thereafter by high pressure sales tactics. I’ve always been curious as to how my favourite Content Creators are able to browse without being harassed to purchase something 🤷🏼♀️
We have to be super sneaky sometimes! My last shopping vlog didn't go so smoothly, I got told to stop filming a couple of times in Selfridges, not even a brand boutique! 🫣

Ahh that’s a shame because it can put you off a brand. You have to wait a while to get over the trauma before picking another store 😂. I love it when they suggest completely random things out of desperation. Show me other rings, not bloomin’ bracelets and bangles. It definitely took another turn with “You can stay with me”, though 😅.

Wow what a cringe worthy experience for you and your friends💯I was in a store the other day purchasing a bag it was the last one available, there was another lady in the store looking at the bag same bag but she had put it down so I grabbed it and proceeded to pay for it. This other lady came up and said that she had wanted to buy it, so the sales lady took it off the counter and handed it to her to try it on😳I couldn’t believe it, the lady then decided that she didn’t like it after all 😏As customers we should be treated way better than we are that’s for sure💯

At the start I thought how bad could it be, probably just your garden variety customer service rudeness. But OMG this was insane. When she wanted you to extend your stay (as if you don’t have a job, life etc.) and then stay with her, it was like this-just-keeps-getting-worse. Holey moley.

Yeah i never like to be hovered but my experience in Hermes is the SA can't be bothered like he has enough sales...lol. At times i really wonder how are they trained? To me it is very important and even more so with luxury shopping. Bhahah...the sales manager can suggest that he don't mind you staying with him really shows how desperate they are for the sales.
