Access to Greenfield Iowa is currently completely restricted to folks that live there. No outsiders or looky lous are allowed in for obvious reasons.
A part of the reason that the local PD are doing that is so the NWS can do a survey with minimal disruptions.
This tornado was doing the 'dead man walking' right after it destroyed the windmills and jumped the road. Saw the footage of the tornado itself: full cycle of it.

I was watching live storm chasers yesterday when this happened and I swear I never saw a "dead man walking" Tornado!
I think they are now calling many multiple vortex tornadoes "Dead Man Walking." I have only seen pictures and videos of a few that could really fit that description.

Can't believe what I just heard - the interviewer asks if the fire dept came out to extinguish windmill fires after they toppled down to the ground. Right! People are hurt and maybe even dying in destroyed homes and the fire dept is instead out messing around with completely useless, destroyed, and burning windmills? Dude! Where's your common sense?

We’ll think about the farm land. If a wildfire stars because of a burning toppled windmill then there’s risk for the to be a loss of food for hundreds of thousands of Americans. Which in turn raises the prices for everyone and allows for increased malnutrition for those in poverty. So it’s really a double edged sword.
Praying for all theses tornadoes to cease. , it such a sad situation when rough weather happens.
Tornadoes have been around for millennia, and will be around for the foreseeable future. Fact of life in America between the Appalachians to the Rockies.

Some of the most notorious tornadoes in US history. have displayed these characteristics, including Joplin, Coleman, Rainesville, El Reno, and Xenia.
If you go to the original footage it does look like Dead Man Walking after it crosses the road.
