- McLouth, Kansas is a small town about 30 miles north of Lawrence. The town motto is “A little bit of country, just outside the big city.” The town may be best known for its annual Threshing Bee.
I’m so happy I live here everyone is nice and we all celebrate the rock sometimes
When I lived there, I would alway loved that rock lol
When I was a kid we would ride our bikes off it. That was before the road bed was built up and was only paved on one side of it. It was closed to 4ft exposed back then in the 70's.
This is my home town the residents know about the rock being there and it's lite up by 4 bright street lights. Also, Major Keith Meador is my Father.
I am glad it is lit up. Not what you would expect to find in the middle of the street but it is a beautiful specimen of granite!!
@@thisorthat7626 That's very true. The rock used to be a lot bigger than it is know. I remember as a young girl, my friends and I used to play king/queen of the granite rock. Many have gotten hurt and have tried to drive over it n gotten stuck. It's a very beautiful town landmark
@@heatherhalford2544 I can imagine kids playing on it in the street! It is a unique landmark. Enjoy!
My Grandmother lived in McLouth for years I don't understand why the city Doesn't' put a flashing street sign or something like that up. If you are just driving through at night, you are not expecting a big rock in the middle of the road.
The rock puns got me 😂
you're going to have something like that in the road they need to mark it and put them border up around it so people know instead of driving on end of actually driving on to it and doing damage to a vehicle
Petrified steak. Unless you go w mainstream ice glacier hupla
Alert me when better comments come along. I got nothing... and better news.
