Great video. One of the biggest reasons to run a non-suppressed AK is unless you're rapid firing single fire, it will make it much harder for enemy players to figure out where you are (ironic). Running a suppressed gun is basically telling other players, "This shot is 100% from another player.". Also, bare in mind the MOA dif with the AK is noticeable at longer ranges.
In regards to the ammo I thought the pp was better because it does Armor pen plus dispersion damage but BT only does through and through damage or only armor pen damage. Also I always run suppressed whether or not I'm doing PVE or PVP just so I can get used to the recoil for what I do come across PVP, as I am a solo player
BT ammo should be better when working consistently/correctly. One reason to run unsuppressed is it can actually be more confusing for enemy players, as it can make you sound like an AI. Suppressed gunshots are 99% of the time a player and because of the audio you can hear suppressed shots from hundreds of meters away.
@@Hudszgaming that's interesting, I'd have thought you can only hear the suppressed shots about 50 meters away, and hearing unsuppressed would more often than not make me move towards those gun shots for quests/keys/food and drinks/meds/or ammo or even to get a sneaky kill on a player that's nearby as an unsuppressedshot is a pretty good indicator that there is a player nearby. Playing as a solo I'm less likely to move towards suppressed shots being as I'm more sure that they are players and there could be multiple (most players are using an m1 variant suppressed which all sound the same, which would mean that there could be multiple teammates)
@@skitch8616 yeah that's totally fair. I often see it as if the other players are fighting AI and they hear me tap a few shots unsuppressed they'll likely assume it's more AI and I can sneak up on them better. Not saying suppressed is bad, but the better recoil really helps.
@@Hudszgaming I can see how it would seem that way but I've been doing some testing and for the most part the silenced ak74n has a pretty easily controlled recoil, its 4-5 shots grouped in a bodies width then diagonally up to the right for 12 then back to the center and straight up from there (not hold your breath or crouched). Crouched and holding your breath it's even more compact and easier to control
855 is a better bullet than BT/PP/PS/BP that you can buy. One shots chest and head with or without armor. Also 556 ammo is all over the place .. especially in T3 areas where you get all 855's which is exactly what you need.
Yeah they're slower rounds but hit just as hard if not harder. it's hard to rank ammo against AI as it seems super random but against players it destroys.
Yeah I saw that but when I've tested PP it felt terrible. They really need to get the ballistics sorted. Ammo just never feels consistent sometimes AP will 1/2 tap sometimes it takes a whole mag.

@@Hudszgaming ai. i dont mess with pvp too much because im mostly a solo but also just been grinding to level up vendors. the few times i did play pvp i did pretty well and wasnt killed, however i did lose 2 good kits and stuff i looted off players to game crash. i will probably start pvp more now that ive unlocked gunny 3 (lastnight)

Nah mate, AK74M is a sandbag choice. Nothing comes close to an M855 ammo AR15 platform as things stand. Maybe they will rectify it but no point running anything else atm.
@RageMonkeyGaming 3+ only protects you against light or medium bots with mosins since they use the worst ammo. Players and soldier NPCs' ammo straight up ignores 3+.

This is also very true. Suppressed weapons are easy to hear from pretty far and it's always most likely a player 👍

I definitely doesn't consistently one shot.
I started using the BT rounds in the 545 models and I'm loving it, drops people just as quick if not quicker than my M4 did, maybe lower velocity?

Hard to judge the ammo against AI due to them having what seems extra armor or health depending on the poi.

honestly, buy the AK-74N instead because you can mount the AR15 adapter and put AR15 stocks on it that way.
You'd have to spend more to get the same result though surely?

It's not 😂 AK moa is around 3.5 so it means anything past point blank u will have some shots that miss well m4 has 1.5
3 moa is still good. Shots at 100 yards might have a 3inch variation. That isn't a lot.
